If you live on the east coast and are sailing on a 5 night Western Caribbean would you eat at main dining or late dining if you eat around 6 pm EST in your every day life. Any help appreciated. Thanks. :smickey:

I am not east coast but I think it comes down to whether or not you have a concern about eating late/close to bed (some people have digestive issues, etc). You will not starve on the ship if you do late dining - there is food everywhere. My family tends to do everything later on vacation because we try to pack so much stuff into our day, so we generally prefer late dining even with little kids. Late dining lets you maximize pool time and have a less crowded MDR. So, I would default recommend doing late dining, unless you have a specific reason not to.

If it was just me and my husband I’d do late dining in the hope that it would be somewhat quieter and less crowded. However, we have young kids (5-9 yrs old) and even the main dining time is late for them (we usually eat dinner around 4:30-5:00 before after school activities). They would never make it to late dining. They’re usually in bed by 8 pm. So we book main dining.

Main dining. The clocks go back 1 hr for part of the cruise and that will make 6pm feel like 7pm.

We are from CT and always do early/main for Caribbean. We usually eat at home about 6pm and have a kid. However, he’s a teen now, but we still eat on the early side. I think it makes it easier to do early shore excursions and to generally get your day started early. By nature, we are not early people though, just on vacation.
