Hello! 6 of us just booked this cruise yesterday :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::thumbsup2:cloud9:
Will we be cruising with you?
I am sure there must be a thread started out there somewhere...
Could you direct me to it?

TIA :thumbsup2

Ok, I was moved to the "meets" board.
I know it is early, but hoping there are others out there:confused3

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list... :thumbsup2

Just changed our dummy date to this cruise. Only 419 days left!:rolleyes1

Me, DH, DD (5), and April 30th is DS's 4th birthday! Plus we were able to score two connecting secret port hole cabins. :thumbsup2

I am one of the original "6", but it has since dwindled down to 4 (4 ears and her DH and me and my DH), the other couple backed out. We are all from the Vacationland (Maine) and this will be me and my DH's first cruise. I am eagerly anticipating it. Our group of four went to DW this past October and had so much fun, so we decided to take the fun and try it on the open seas. I will be turning 32 on this cruise (one of the reasons I pulled for this date). We will be traveling without kids (DH and I dont have any) and hope that we will still have a blast on this family oriented cruise line.

:cool1:

Another 1st: this is going to be the first time that my DH has been on a plane. . . wondering how he is going to deal with the fear.

:worried:

Did you & DH drive to DW? I usually "borrow" one anti anxiety pill from a family member and take half on the outbound and the other half on the return. It does wonders for me, as I have quite a phobia (but don't let it stop me nor do I let my little ones know).

This will be our 2nd Western Caribbean DCL cruise. Just got back on Jan 30th.

Yes, we drove STRAIGHT through, about 27 hours (including bathroom breaks). DH didn't care for the drive, so he said the only way that we were going back to FL was to fly. I have flown several times before, but this will be my longest flight.

Thanks for the suggestion about the pill.

It must say good things about DCL if you are planning to go on another western caribbean cruise. :)

Where are you from. We have driven to Disney several times usualy takes about 24hrs, is we drive stright through. We live in Oklahoma. I have been considering this cruise. If I book it it will be as a solo traverler. I haven't done much solo traveling and am unsure how I would like crusing by myself. My daughter would not be able to come this time and my son thinks crusing would be a boar. Oh I forgot to mention that I am decrepid old lady who just hapens to love anything Disney and crusing (what could be better).

My son is wanting to take his girlfriend and her kids to WDW so we might do that sometime this next year and my daughter wants to take her partner as she has never been. We have also promised my grandaughters another cruise and a trip to the mouse in the near future, but for them we have to work around school. they will soon be grown and then they will no longer want to go places with there grandmother. So this cruise may not work out for me but I am hoping.

Be back with you later Magie

Hey all!

We are almost booked for this cruise, will decide in a day or so if we are going to do this one!

Have you all cruised before? We did this same Western the last time but were re-routed because of the H1N1...so we want to do the same one again.

DH and I just talked about it tonight, so I almost have myself worked into total excitement already!

It will be just DH and I, no kids!

Hello! blodg and ourselves are from Maine.
blodg has never cruised before and this will be our 2nd. blodg does not have children, we have an 18 year old who will not be cruising and will be at sail time just under 17. the 17 year old to be would like to go, but not sure how he will feel when the time gets here. Leaving it open.
Dh and myself have driven to WDW twice, once alone and once with blodg. It takes us some where between 24-27 hours.

We are unsure where to stay the night before; in port or onsite? Would like AKL but wondering if it will be one of the values.

Fairygodmother (Magie), congrats to you on cruising solo, I would love to go to the World by myself.

Laura001, do yo have children? The last 2 times we have gone to Disney we have the left our teenagers home, LOL.

Have a great day, Mary

This is our 2nd Disney cruise and are very excited! Our first cruise I had to take DH kicking a screaming pretty much the whole way. BUT, he LOVED it and is excited about going again. He wants to do the same itinerary as we did the last time....so the Western it is!

We have been married 26 years, actually 27 when we cruise and have 3 children (25-DD, 21-DS, 18-DD) and none of them will be joining us. We are at the point where our kids are too busy to go on vacation with us (which is good and bad)

Having a cruise thread to build up the anticipation is a lot of fun and it sure helps to pass the time too!

We haven't decided on which cabin we are booking yet, I am letting DH decide on that. The last time we had a Navigator's Verandah and it was great but in reality we spent so little time in the room I can't see doing that again....we will see. I told him he has a week to decide!:goodvibes

Our cabin # is 6510.
Last one we were 6550.
As long as we are on ship with a verenda, we are good to go!!:wizard:

Oops, I was mistaken, took a second look because it did not sound right. Our stateroom is 6546. pirate:

We spent so LITTLE time in our cabin the last cruise that it is hard to justify the extra money. The money we save will pay for all of our excursions and then some. I am still leaving it up to DH and he will decide by next week for sure:confused3. Actually, sshhhh.....don't tell anyone, BUT he can't decide anything like that! I keep getting him to try! :rotfl2: Sooooooo....hopefully with a little help (insert the me pushing icon), he will decide which he prefers.

I also spoke with a couple of friends from our last cruise and am trying to talk them into booking the same cruise too.....hmmmm...wonder if it will work. If they are reading this.........:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:come on....:cheer2::goodvibes

I meant to answer your question about where to stay on a previous post so here goes!

If you want to stay off-site, two options are great! If you are flying in and only want to us ME, then the Hyatt at the airport is Fantastic! If you want to stay in Port Canaveral, then the Radisson at the Port is a great choice. You can even leave your car then (include that into your room reservation) and you won't have to pay for parking at the port. Then you just take the shuttle in the morning to the Port.

I do have some pics if anyone would like to see some of a standard room. Just let me know. :goodvibes
