Hallo Thieves!!!

It's my first time back on the boards since the cruise, and I just wanted to say what a GREAT time we had. The fish extender thing worked out so well, and the kids were so happy getting their goodies each day.

I can't believe our trip is over, and we don't have another cruise booked yet! DH and I are planning to do a long vacation to WDW in the spring though.. and we'll have a new member of the family along. I'm expecting baby #2 on New Years Day!!

WAAAAY, off topic, but I have to share anyway: My mortgage just dropped from 9.25% down to 4.25%!!!!!!!!!!!! That reduces my monthly payment by $200.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am reading Deb Will's Cruise blog and found Marilyn and John on Deck 10 port side approaching the Gatun Locks! Those two are so photogenic--even the backs of their heads.

Anyway, thanks for making the cruise extra enjoyable.


No real news here - busy with work and the normal house chores...and trying to weed through 1200 photos to select which measly few I will print.

Ian, the gas price hasn't impacted me too much yet. Since I've been cooking/packing lunch more I think some of that dining out $$ moved to the gasoline catagory!

One of my friends at work lives near me and we are talking about car pooling at least a couple of days a week. IF we can work it out...she wants me to do the driving and pick her up and drop her off and she gives me money. I'm not sure I'm interested in having to leave home earlier and get home later EVERY day. I suggested she drive to my house and leave her car here, but she wasn't excited about that concept (because it means SHE would have to leave home earlier!) And, of course, we haven't even discussed how much money she'd be giving me.

I'm more interested in us taking turns driving, then no money is involved, we each have to make the leave earlier concession. I think I'll insist on that condition and suggest a 'test' of just pooling on Tuesday and Thursdays...and see how that goes.

Trying it out sounds like a good plan.

DH walks to and from work daily. I have always grouped my homecare clients regionally as I have a 300 square mile area I cover. I walk to the grocery store and carry my things home in a backpack.

The biggest change is that I do less driving of a friend who is not supposed to drive. In a way it is a good thing as that lady needs to not depend on me so much.

Since Paul and I work from home we don't fill our tanks on a regular basis, just when they get empty from running around. I have found that I'm very sensitive to driving for pleasure. I'm still doing it just, thinking about it now. I dread to think what the costs are for Paul and Wilson driving to the race track (1.5 hours away) just this week Paul had a friend come over and he pulled the trailer with his truck and they split the gas. At least that helps.

Well since it's 11am should I go and walk up my darling daughter? She has started the teenage sleeping all hours routine. Oh well, there are worse thing right?

I vote for letting her sleep. She is growing physically and mentally. She needs her sleep.

Have you had reports on your news about sleep deprivation and what it does to human functioning? Recommendations are going up of how much sleep we need and the MD said that the most sleep deprived people are teenages as they try to pull all-nighters for study or social events.

Hmmmmm---maybe I need a nap.....

Mom lives in Ellenton, in between Tampa and Sarasota. Just far enough away to make it hard to visit. It's been ok until now that she's not feeling well.....She was supposed to go to the doctor today, but her blood pressure shot way up again...over 200/110. So she cancelled. I would think that would be the time to go see the doctor. Also, she doesn't like her new cardiologist, so she's cancelling the tests they have scheduled and going to find a new one. I know everything is related to her high blood pressure, but she doesn't want to deal with it.

Oh, well, she'll be ok for now.

Lisa...I am so glad to hear that Vanessa will be able to walk. She looked beautiful on prom night, what great memories.

So, I had this call yesterday from Bravo TV. It was an executive producer for a lifestyle show and he had seen my website and was telling me how he wanted to profile my supplement list for a show. I was getting pretty excited and then he realized that I didn't own the supplements I use, i just sell them for the company . So, I directed him on to the headquarters and lost my shot at fame . Maybe next time...or maybe the company will use me as one of the people the use during the segment! My fingers will be crossed for that one!

Kelly...I will get you that powerpoint this week. Sorry about the delay, Scott's computer died and I have been trying to get all of my stuff off my old computer so he can use it for now.

Keep in mind that when you close an account it lowers your FICO score and right now they are attacking FICO scores like crazy around the country. With the new evaluation of FICO scoring most people's rates lowered this past year even though they've done nothing wrong. With every inquiry of your credit your FICO goes down.

And this includes inquiries from insurance companies if you do some comparison shopping to get better rates.

I'll have to come back later after dark. It's so bright today, I really can't see what I'm typing and have to squint and get my eyes about 4 inches from the screen to read posts. NOT good for the eyes. When it's dark outside, I can see it better.

I work during the summer, just modified. Pretty much come and go as I please, just expected to get my work done. It's really quiet since there are no students, teachers and upper administrators so I get a ton done in a short period of time.
Today I left at 2 and came home to take my blinds to get repaired..damn dog jumped through them...the blind shop closed it's location! Which sucks and so I went to Home Depot to buy temperary blinds and I bought short ones, so there's light coming in my room...aack! I can't sleep unless it's DARK..so I am thinking I'll be sharing one of my daughters bunk beds in her room for 2 weeks.
So now I am home, have done my home repairs..blinds and fixed the toilet..such an accomplished lady. I also fixed the vacuum..are you all impressed?

Well..I have had a great start to our summer. My daughter has turned a one night sleepover with her cousins into 3 nights. She just called to ask is she could stay again...love it. So I have been watching lots of movies at home, just me and the cat and the dog. I can recommend Jumper and The Other Boleyn Girl. I think I might read that book now.

Oh and we got our summer reading books for work and I was given "the 10 people who Suck: A positive prescription for improving communication in the workplace"

I like the title so it can't be all bad....

You will like the The Other Boleyn Girl book so much better then the movie.

Must be hard for her to accept that she needs help and that her body is not behaving as it did when she was younger. It is so much easier to be a care-giver than a care-recipient.

What she said! You don't want to close the account, especially if it has a quite a bit of good payment history connected with it. I've paid off the balance on an account that wouldn't lower my rate with a balance transfer ($50 fee was involved) from my other account, at a much lower rate that ran for the term of the balance. You have to watch out for those low interes offers that may only be good for a few months...if those few months aren't enough time to get the balance paid.
