Hi Kathe! You're up late! How are you? It's HOT here!:faint: Here's what is on Weather.com for Phoenix:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM MST SUNDAY. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH ISSUED EARLIER FOR SUNDAY HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH HOWEVER REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

UNUSUALLY HOT WEATHER IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE DESERTS OF SOUTH- CENTRAL ARIZONA OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 109 TO 112 DEGREES SUNDAY...AND POSSIBLY UP TO 112 DEGREES AGAIN MONDAY. THE HOT CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST INTO TUESDAY...THOUGH SLIGHTLY COOLER WEATHER IS EXPECTED BY WEDNESDAY.

DANGEROUSLY HOT CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED. IT WOULD BE WISE TO COMPLETE AS MUCH OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AS POSSIBLE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE SUN AND HEAT ARE LESS INTENSE. DURING PERIODS OF EXCESSIVE HEAT...INDIVIDUALS CAN SUFFER HEAT- RELATED ILLNESS WHEN THE BODY CAN NO LONGER COOL ITSELF.

IF YOU PLAN TO BE OUTSIDE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME IN THE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING...STAY IN THE SHADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND DRINK ABUNDANT AMOUNTS OF WATER. WEAR LIGHT-COLORED AND LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING. IF YOU WEAR A WIDE-BRIMMED HAT...YOUR HEAD AND BODY WILL BE MUCH COOLER. STOP OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES... DRINK LOTS OF WATER OR OTHER NON- ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES...AND IF POSSIBLE...SPEND MORE TIME IN AIR- CONDITIONED OR WELL-VENTILATED PLACES.

And I'm going down there tomorrow--am I nuts or what?????::yes:::tongue:

Ah... you're just like the rest of us!!!

Don't forget your cool wrap... works really good if you put it in the fridge... or in ice water... Don't freeze though... :)

Oh my gosh, I'd never heard of an excessive heat warning! Yikes! :faint: Stay safe!

We had it here on the east coast last week when it got up to 99 here. It's the humidity here that kills us... it felt like :furious: 107 :furious: on Monday.

Great photos Deb. Glad you're having a good time.

So today, instead of being productive on my extra day of freedom, I slept TONS, rented a couple of GREAT movies, slept again from 2-7pm. Nice and lazy and relaxing! Dumped a bunch of extra plastic cups & glasses I never use from one cupboard, but didn't get any further than that. Attempted to pull weeds and planned on getting sticks out of the back yard and mowing the back, but didn't get any further than 5 minutes of pulling weeds and then decided I'd rather pay the neighbor kid $10 to do that. LOL! Will go ask him tomorrow on my way out of town. Yup, I'm lazy this weekend!

If I slept from 2-7pm I wouldn't sleep all night!!

Lazy weekends are good!!!:rotfl2:

Glad to hear she is home and well enough to Dis!!! Give her our love. Or, if you're reading Heather, some love and hugs to you!!

Thanks for all the well wishes and calls while I was in the hospital! I cant believe I was that sick and they even had a infectious disease doc come and see me because of the cruise. I told them I had just gone nonstop, there was a big weather change and it wasnt an exotic "disney germ"'but since I do post op nursing they wouldnt clear me till he saw me. Im on 2 different antibiotics and I pity the people that were sick because it was sure no fun but feeling alot better now.

Heather, so pleased to see you and even more pleased to hear you are feeling better. Take care and don't overdo it!!

I much prefer that heat to the humid heat of Panama, but you have to heed the warnings. Stay safe.

Thanks for the reminder! I'll be sure to take it; it'll be good for when we walk the dog.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dads! I lost my dad 25 years ago--too soon! But have many happy memories of good times with him. He loved Disneyland! I think he would have loved DCL, too!

Hi All.....Life is so wonderful at the Beach......graduation went well today....I'm so proud of Tristan.

Great pixs! What an exciting day for everyone.

Spent last night looking at where to go 2009 since we will only do a 4 or 7 day cruise around Christmas. Looks like Hawaii is in the lead. Not my choice but Brent wants to see a volcano with lava.

As I just did....went outside at 6:30 and pulled ivy and a couple of stray weeds. Will do the grocery run tonight after the sun is down. Got lots of inside projects to keep me busy, that's for sure!

Happy Fathers Day to all you Disney loving dads!

Monica...all I could find was a sneak preview on line...Ian might have already shared this one. It is on again on Sunday night

Thanks, we haven't been able to get it here either.

Of course we'll come and visit. Tell me, will Scheke Green be appearing at the resort along with the Barry Sisters, maybe?

Oh, no, those are those other mountains. The Catskills.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dr Who time now!!!:)

We get Dr. Who on the BBC, but have never seen it.

Acid = LSD i.e. drugs

Drugs really seemed to come into our lives in the late 60s.
All this came up because Ken's Dad has a 1963 Cadillac convertible that Ken and family may drive in the town parade and he wanted period costumes. We were discussing what the styles were in 1963 and when Hippies came up and drugs, Cheri said that was more the late 60s when she was in college and I was agreeing with her. She and I were in college and the drug culture was getting started elsewhere. So, I am not naming any names or pointing any fingers it is just an observation on the culture of the times.

Jan :earsgirl;

All this LSD talk is cracking me up. I've studied LSD for 13 years now and have published articles about it and teach about it about a hundred times per year.

So, glad you're feeling better. I knew you were both nurses, so I wondered if you get better treatment or just get teased for being a patient. Take it easy for a while. This cough has lingered for weeks.

Somebody wished me a happy fathers day yesterday. I asked them if they knew something I didn't.

Heather, I had this crazy dream today during my 4 hour nap. "You really won't like this job". :lmao:

Holly, I have wacky dreams like this all the time. I have to be honest I love them :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I think they are cheap entertainment, like going to a free movie. Let's figure out what it means...

hmmm, picked up by friends to go to work - glad Heather is well, but you went to the hospital - you are still worried for her - going to the airport - you are still living your vacation and wanting to be on it still or go away again - the shoveling coal well that's easy - you hate your job!!!

I'll record mine next time and you can play it out for me, okay? :lmao: :lmao:

I think you are nuts for living in the state, not going to another place in the state...:rotfl2:

Back from another Sunday morning of leading WW meetings. Crowds were a bit lighter this morning, I think because there was a heavy rainstorm some time while I was in leading meetings.

The twin of Jackie showed up again and I did a double take, just as I did last time.

I weighed myself this morning and I am down 1 pound, which is right on target. I had committed to myself that I would lose 1 pound a week (that's a bit under .5 Kg for our metric friends).

I also realized this morning that ... I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEK.

If you are wondering why I'm here and not, at the movies or the beach or Hooters...it is a migraine. I've had it since 8am this morning. I slept until 11am and just took another pill, (yuck) Paul is grabbing some groceries then I think we are going out to play. Better half a day than none. Darn these headaches.:headache:

Sorry you're suffering with a migraine Nan. It must be horrible, especially when you want to be out enjoying yourself.

Hope you manage to get out and about.

Almost bed time here. Been a quiet day. We bought a few new fish for the tank and had a quick walk, quick because it began to rain!! It is cold and not nice for June.

However, we aren't suffering floods like your Mid West, or extreme heat like Phoenix(:rolleyes1 ) so I guess I am grateful.

I'm missing all the folk who don't post any more, and whilst I am 'glad it happened' I am still sad it is over.
