We had Premier Pins for one of the PIRATES movies as we went to DL on the red carpet day but left before the movie was shown. When we saw the movie at home we wore the pins and I bet the theater manager would have given his right arm for one. Know anyone who works at a theater?

Jan :earsgirl:

I don't think so but that is a good idea.

WOW!!! Cool cars!

From the second site:

"COSTUMES / FASHION

The 1960's began with crew cuts on men and bouffant hairstyles on women. Men's casual shirts were often plaid and buttoned down the front, while knee-length dresses were required wear for women in most public places. By mid-decade, miniskirts or hot pants, often worn with go-go boots, were revealing legs, bodywear was revealing curves, and women's hair was either very short or long and lanky. Men's hair became longer and wider, with beards and moustaches. Men's wear had a renaissance. Bright colors, double-breasted sports jackets, polyester pants suits with Nehru jackets, and turtlenecks were in vogue. By the end of the decade, ties, when worn, were up to 5" wide, patterned even when worn with stripes. Women wore peasant skirts or granny dresses and chunky shoes. Unisex dressing was popular, featuring bell bottomed jeans, love beads, and embellished t-shirts. Clothing was as likely to be purchased at surplus stores as boutiques. Blacks of both genders wore their hair in an afro."

Have fun researching. Sounds like you might already have clothing that would work if Shannon does a BIG HAIR STYLE and you get a CREW CUT.

Jan :earsgirl:

Ken, you should get go go boots for the girls. That would be wild!

Donating to resale shops works for me.::yes::

After we moved I discovered some stuff I really did not need after all. A local school was having a yard sale to send their 8th graders to Washington DC. That is the kind of class trip I can get behind so I took them four boxes of miscellaneous stuff. The secretary helped me carry it in and she was thrilled. I think she was going to buy some of it.

Jan :earsgirl:

We do that as well. Thanks for reminding me.

Well then, grow it long and get that moustache going and do the hippie thing.

However, not too many hippies could afford cars like that. For those outfits you might need an old VW bus painted in psychodelic flowers.

Jan :earsgirl:

I can totally see Ken like that. He should have been born 25 years earlier! :hippie:

Yeah but I still don't know why people want them. Will they be worth more later?

Maybe the would be worth something to someone when it comes out on DVD, but, I doubt it, however, I hate selling on e-bay....:( Seems like it wastes too much of my time.

I haven't tried yet. I probably should :confused3

Some people love it and if they do that is fine. :goodvibes I am glad they do.

However, I had a stash of Disney Store Catalogs. Part of my thinning-out when I thought we should be moving and we were not yet was to get rid of them.

I photographed them, posted them, then when the bidding was over, those that were bought I had to package and mail. Those that were not bought I had to relist.
It was a hassle to me.
Finally I asked the last winning bidder if he wanted the rest of them sight unseen to dispose of as he wished for only the cost of shipping. He agreed and I was

DONE WITH E-BAY!:cool1:

Thanks for telling me now. The info would have been used better on the cruise!

It was in the wonderful mini-nav that you received on the first day!

I'm pretty sure Leanne, Cheri and I spoke about it a few times in the thread leading up to it. I know I even did a magnet design for it.

:cool2: :lmao:

So I gotta ask for some help here ...

On July 17-20 my town is having our annual summer festival. We call it Billy Barker Days in honour of the BC Gold Rush of the late 1800's that happened in this area (thus the giant gold pan as our town symbol).

We have a nice little parade (it's not too fancy, but it is one of the largest family parades in the interior of BC).
This year my dad wants to enter his 1926 Cadillac:

and his 1963 Cadillac convertible

. I will be driving the '63 and was thinking of putting my girls in it as well.

My question is this:
What should I and the girls be wearing for "period" outfits to go with the car? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Well maybe, as Shannon might have to make the outfits ... ::yes:: :rolleyes1

For the 1963 for you a white sport coat and a pink carnation. For the girls, early 60's pink "fluffy" chiffon dresses. I would think you would want to be "dressed up" to ride in a cadilac in those days.

By the way, LOVE the cars. DrHug "wants that!" and "that too"! ::yes::

I meant the kids but you are welcome too. It might be more fun at V's house because we don't have a pool! We do have DL :yay: and a big enough yard for you to park.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought Nan wanted us to pick up all the kids and take them to V's and you wanted us to do yard work on the way....kids ok, yard work not. :lmao: :rotfl:

Make it easy on her and roll up some jeans and put on a white t-shirt and slick back your hair. Or is that the 50's :confused3

That is late 50's but would work for the early 60's also. But that would be more Chevy than cadillac. ;)

Jan :earsgirl:

Too much work for me. My friend loves it. I just got a pay pall account because I needed it for one thing and never used it again. I also don't have TIVO which usually surprises everyone. Maybe I should have lived through the 60's! :hippie:

Mustaches and I just don't get along ...

Guess I'll try and go with the earlier suggestions.

I'm sorry about your 40th, that's not right :furious: I can't wait to be a grandma. I think it will be so fun. Hopefully I don't put my kid in therapy by then!

But if your kids are in therapy then that means more time with the grandkids for you! :thumbsup2
