I don't know. My birthdays are always a big deal, not just for me but for all of my friends. Everyone keeps asking me what I'm going to do but I just don't feel it this year. I usually plan it 6 months in advance so now I just think there isn't enough time to do anything, even though there is time to do a little something. We'll probably just BBQ or something. It would be nice if Jon had the day off but I know he didn't do that because he doesn't have a lot of time left. Maybe wine tasting on Saturday, if we can find a sitter

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here at all but things have been crazy!! Since we got back I have been to Michigan and now my mom is here for the summer. So all the talk about cleaning made me feel guilty . . . I had Merry Maids come and clean while I went to get my Mom!!! The house looks beautiful. Work has been crazy because we are getting ready to relocate to a different floor in the building - I'm losing my view of DL! I'm so sad about that. Anyway, I'm co-managing the move and it takes so much time. I'll try to get on here more often for sure!

Gaylean mentioned that she's trying to get the cruise out of her head . . . that is still all I talk about! It seems like every conversation ends up there. I loved every minute of it!!!

My new goal is to clean out the house as if we were moving. I'm going to go through every cabinet and drawer and get rid of a lot of things. This is the longest we've ever lived in a house and I feel like we need to move so I'm hoping this helps.

Ut Oh......now you're starting to sound like Marr.......ha ha ha.....just kidding. I think this is a great way to look at it. Just pretend we are moving and throw everything out. That could work for me. Maybe we've lived here too long also.

Today I lost my cell phone! It totally threw off my day! It's so strange. I used it to make a couple of calls as I was driving into town to get my nails done. I parked, locked my car, went into the salon, got my nails done and then looked for my phone. It wasn't in my purse so I figured I just left it in the car. When I got out to the car it wasn't there. My nail tech called my cell # and the voice mail picked up right away, which is what it does when it's turned off! But I hadn't turned it off and it was fully charged. We looked everywhere, dumped out my purse 3 times, etc. but it was not to be found. All I can think is that it fell out in the parking lot and someone took it. But this is a small salon in a very small, quiet strip mall and there were maybe 2 other cars in the parking lot. I parked about 10' from the door of the salon. It hasn't turned up....grrrrrrr! Luckily I have the insurance ($50 deduc.) and I'm supposed to get another phone tomorrow but I have to go to a funeral in the morning so I hope I don't miss the delivery. They said I had to sign for it.

Ah me...but things could be much worse. It wasn't credit cards or a wad of cash.

I took Tom's phone swimming at Quiet Cove Pool. After three weeks of drying it was still not right. We put his memory into my phone and now I have a Raspberry. I did not want a Raspberry, I just wanted a phone, but I am learning the stuff faster than I expected and enjoying it.

I also got water in the underwater digital camera. Not good. We bought a new camera from Shutters by the same company to use for Panama Canal Day. I did not want to touch it for fear I would damage it. Tom had a ball running around taking pictures. I staked a claim to a piece of railing on Deck 4 Starboard under the first lifeboat. Would that be Life Boat 1? We are going to send the camera off to be fixed.

I am writing an e-mail to a friend who was on our cruise but is not a DISer. I am trying to explain the DIS to him and so went to the Cruise Line Forum for the first time in MONTHS.

There does not appear to be a section for general questions any more.

There are Trip Reports and Cruise Meets.

I remember going on the forum and finding quesitons people had about the ships, shows, etc.

Is the General Questions section gone?

Am I missing something?

Day before yesterday was the coldest high temperature for that date since they have been keeping records. We had snow down to 3500 feet. But, the sun is SUPPOSED to come out today (haven't seen it yet and it was supposed to be out a bit yesterday which did not happen ) and we are SUPPOSED to have a sunny 4 days coming up over the weekend with temps getting into the mid 70s. Where is my summer??

Angie...the sun is out here, did it show for you?! I am keeping my fingers crossed for the weekend, would love to do some yardwork and mow that lawn again. If it doesn't change soon, where should we head?!

I don’t normally post things like this, but I feel very strongly that this is an exception.

The wife of my close colleague is a violin teacher in a non-profit school that develops the musical gifts of inner city children. Her name is Shalisa Kline-Ugaz.

She is incredibly dedicated to the kids.

This past year, one of her students had problems because their family was poor and there were basic problems with their housing. Shalisa, somehow, got Extreme Home Makeover to do a super make over on her student’s family’s home.

Shalisa has gain reputation for such dedication to these kids, that a local television station recently did a news piece on her:

Shalisa, unknown to her, was nominated by her boss (the head of the school) for the Energizer Hall of Fame.

She had been chosen as a semi-finalist. The winner is determined, by Internet vote.

WOW! That happened to me too.

I thought we should move. I was restless where we were. Loved the house. Loved the neighbors. Loved our friends. Loved our church. There were no problems. I just felt like we should move.

I cleaned out cabinets and closets like you said. I hate yard sales so I took bags of things to my homecare clients and invited them to help themselves. "Jan's roving yard sale" but all items were free.

We did not move right away, but when we finally moved I had gotten so much done, it was easier to pack, sort and pitch.

If we played our cards right we could pawn off our kids to each other for 1 week at a time, and get 2 weeks with out them, hmmmmm bliss for 2 and chaos for 1, totally worth it.
