Hi gaylean

Same with me, losing the tan but lovely weather here start cold again and pour of raining yesterday.

Kids still go to school until 25 June then off for 10 weeks:scared1: :scared1:

because the new school is not ready they put 10 weeks off. Oh god, what I do with them for 10 weeks :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am working through the summer huh, in law will take our kids for break in summer and Olivia have one week holiday with deaf children to outdoor week in August.

Scottishwee35

The weather here is weird this year. It was 90 one day and 65 the next and now it is cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. It is suppose to be 90 today so that will be good.

Brooke just told me she was bored. We usually take a vacation right now for my birthday and Father's Day but we didn't this year and now I'm sad we didn't. I need to get this cruise out of my head! I will take the kids to the beach next week and today I thought we would stay in our pjs.

We are with you Deborah....cold and rainy :( I want the weather from Castaway Cay back!!!!!!

The girls go to school until June 20th, they are the last district in the area to get out....so, I have 6.5 more days of school to figure out what I am going to do with them, LOL! They have rejected every summer camp idea I had....so I guess they get to hang out at the office with mom....

Good luck with that. I hope they don't get bored as easily as Brooke does. She told me she was bored and I told her we had all summer to play and have fun and she told me I had all summer to play on the computer.

10 weeks???!!!:scared1: I feel for you.

We'll make a promise to do it together, on the same day, so the DISing doesn't get in the way. But not today :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, we'll choose a day - sometime, just not today, or tomorrow or.....:rotfl2:

Even worse, she missed Bethany's birthday party. But she's hoping to go home today.

Oh I'm pleased she is going home.

Tyler's stepmom was telling me he's been saying that at their house too, but I told her I've never heard him say that. Maybe he just has more stuff at my house, I don't know. ;)

Day before yesterday was the coldest high temperature for that date since they have been keeping records. We had snow down to 3500 feet. But, the sun is SUPPOSED to come out today (haven't seen it yet and it was supposed to be out a bit yesterday which did not happen :furious: ) and we are SUPPOSED to have a sunny 4 days coming up over the weekend with temps getting into the mid 70s. Where is my summer?? :confused3 :worried:

I don’t normally post things like this, but I feel very strongly that this is an exception.

The wife of my close colleague is a violin teacher in a non-profit school that develops the musical gifts of inner city children. Her name is Shalisa Kline-Ugaz.

She is incredibly dedicated to the kids.

This past year, one of her students had problems because their family was poor and there were basic problems with their housing. Shalisa, somehow, got Extreme Home Makeover to do a super make over on her student’s family’s home.

Shalisa has gain reputation for such dedication to these kids, that a local television station recently did a news piece on her:

http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/someone_you_should_know&id=6159845

Shalisa, unknown to her, was nominated by her boss (the head of the school) for the Energizer Hall of Fame.

She had been chosen as a semi-finalist. The winner is determined, by Internet vote.

Please vote for Shalisa, I think she is a great person and a great inspiration and deserves recognition. You can vote once per day. Also please pass this on to other people.

Here is the link to vote:

Please pass this on to other people, and I hope, if no one minds, that I from time to time post reminders to vote.

I know how you feel. I'm losing my tan and I was hoping, since it was so close to summer, I could just go and lay out but we haven't had much sun. Today is the first day of summer so beach here we come! Brooke woke up this morning and said "What are we doing today? It's summer". I'm scared she wants me to keep her busy everyday.

I thought Brooke did not want summer to come. Can't wait until you visit our neck of the woods. Any new planning developments?

My new goal is to clean out the house as if we were moving. I'm going to go through every cabinet and drawer and get rid of a lot of things. This is the longest we've ever lived in a house and I feel like we need to move so I'm hoping this helps.

I'm going to run with this idea. I have 3 closets and my kitchen that needs be be gone through with the moving idea. Plus maybe once I go through my kitchen, I will finally decide on moving forward with getting my kitchen counters replaced.

Our neighbour Quintin passed away in the night. He was just home from hospital a little over 3 days. It is still such a shock as he was fine when we set off on vacation a little over 5 weeks ago. Well, he had apparently had a few headaches that the Doc put down to stress, but this was a very aggressive tumour. At least he is out of pain. Please remember his wife, Jetta, and 2 children. Jetta and Quintin only moved here from Scotland this last New Year.

Marilyn, I am so sorry. I will keep Jetta and the children in my prayers. I'm just left shaking my head over this. Our friend who just passed away in April had lost his 9 month battle with a brain tumor. But 3 weeks, that is just unbelievable.

I don’t normally post things like this, but I feel very strongly that this is an exception.

Ian, I think this is fine to do. I do hope she get this honor. I did try to go to the voting, but got an error. So yes please post this link again and again so it does not get lost in the shuffle of things.

Oh and has the EHM episode been aired yet?

So, as soon as you all have this done please come on up and help me since we really ARE planning on moving and need to get this done ASAP!! :thumbsup2

Re: cleaning...etc....

My plan for this weekend is to get those suitcases off the floor and put away :rotfl2:

I would like to finish getting the "public" areas of my house (dining/living rooms & kitchen) back to the "can be seen by others" stage :rotfl:

THEN---maybe I'll be able to tackle my bedroom :lmao:

(This weekend is a 7 day weekend, isn't it???):lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

WOW! She sure deserves to win. What an amazing woman. :goodvibes

I somehow missed this before, but this is a great idea! Since I should get an extra day of freedom this weekend, I think I might try to start doing something similar. I need to start with my kitchen because there's too much stuff that falls out when I open a cupboard door. Mostly too many plastic reusable containers & cups that have accumulated.

I think they're having site problems (isn't Energizer supposed to keep going and going and going?) I'll repost again.

I know I'm usually funny and flippant, but Shalisa's dedication to these kids and music is really amazing. She is managing to transform the lives of these children through music. Imagine the talent that is being developed and the opportunity created for these kids.

Yes, this must all seem a bit out of character for me.

It's been to sunny up here and I have 2 days of sitting in the sun at graduations to look forward too!. Funny about brooke, this morning my daughter asked when she could start sleeping in...I said in 2 more days!

That's exactly what my plans are for this weekend! The public areas were a mess before we left, because too busy preparing for the trip, and their still a mess!
But there's all these other things that I'd rather do:
-because of Ian, I had to go buy the WiiFit (it was the hula-hoop part that got me excited) so of course I have to make time to use it.
-must email Ian the pictures of menus from WDW (totally forgot to do it last night, too busy watching So You Think You Can Dance)
-I still have the last episode of Lost to watch (hopefully will do that tonight)
-have to read through people's trip reports - I love reading them, admire people for doing it.

And its time to get the resume ready for another job. I hate looking for a new job, but I'm tired of what I'm doing and hate DH working in different town, so must persevere and find a job.

Read through almost all posts and got caught up again. Skipped all the posts about Lost, will have to go back and read them after I watch the show.

  to all who are having tough times. Its scary how many people are/have been sick after cruising, even with all the hand washing.:scared1:

Because there were problems with the link in my original posting, I am reposting it again here, this time with a link that works. I think Energizer made a change to the link.

Here is my posting:

I knew there was something about you that really clicked with me and it's the fact that you watch SYTYCD....I love that show and of course feel that there is a closet perfect dancer somewhere deep inside of me!
