We did the same thing after all the talk but couldn't find either. Doug went on E bay and got both the WII and WII fit. Can't wait until they get here. I think I may exercise more.

Ken, also meant to tell you that Doug has been checking out geocaching since we got home. I had gotten him a handheld Garmin several years ago from work and he finally learned how to use it. We have also found our first virtual geocache. It was rather easy, though. We didn't even have to leave home to find it. It is the Longaberger Headquarters building which is just a little over 2 miles from where we live. We pass it almost every day. There are lots of others in the area and we are anxious to go looking for some. Thanks for the talk and sorry we had to leave early.

You WILL exercise more with the Wii - unless you are some sort of fitness buff. Just in one night of toying with the thing Shannon and I came back a little sore this morning. Which usually means we did something right in exercising.

Good luck with the geocaching. As I said in my talk, it doesn't take a big fancy unit with all of the latest gizmos to do geocaching. And a Garmin is what I have so it sounds liek you are set. Just make sure you register at Geocaching.com so you can keep track of your finds. As I mentioned in my talk I also suggest downloading GSAK to keep track of your finds on your own computer and to make transfering geocache co-ordinates to your GPSr much easier.

No worries on ducking out early. It went a little longer than I had planned and I had a MUCH bigger turnout than I originally thought I would. Just wish I had been smart enough to take some pics while it was going on!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. I'll try and answer the ones I know, and those that I don't I'll try and point you in the right direction. For the record, my handle when Geocaching is LFITQ.

Not sure where the wedding will be or should be. We'll get the license on Friday the 5th. In the meantime, I'll have to find an officiate. Do you think we could get hitched in the DL parking lot?

You could always do Minnie level of the "Mickey and Friends" parking garage.:thumbsup2

With all the talk about the Wii I had to go see what that was about....not exactly in my budget so will do with out

so I finished my orientation class last night, you have 2 weeks to complete it - but it was relatively simple.
I am waiting on my book to arrive for my next class which happens to be HR Management Methods. Fun stuff!

Which school are you going to? I've taken a ton of programs online and loved almost all of them.

John has softball tonight, so a girls night in.
I am really going to start budgeting and making meal plans for the week. I waste so much money at the grocery store. We could probably cruise again if I was careful about it!

Yes, you can cruise on the money you save! We are incredibly thrifty at saving food. Our goal is to never throw away anything, so we turn all scraps into something else. fruit and veggie tidbits get frozen and thrown into smoothies, some trash gets composted. We buy in bulk at Costco and the first day we divide it all up and cook about 10 + meals divide them up, then label and freeze them. For example one chicken gets cooked, divied in half, deboned and the remains gets turned into soup or stalk that goes into smaller quantities in the freezer. Then we never buy canned soup either. We never pick up fast food and rarely eat out. Having meals ready reduces impulse eating out and impulse eating. You're absolutely right, you can afford more cruising when you're careful about waste.

My neighbors all joke about never letting me see how much they throw away from their fridge and SIL has a thing about having her freezer cluttered, so she throws away a lot of food and then fights with her DH about it because he wants her to freeze and resuse. My neighbor came home the other day with McDonalds breakfast and coffee from Starbucks and said, "Kelly would never ever do this... and that's why she's been on two extremely large vacations 2 years in a row and we've been nowhere!" I was pretty surprised that she told me that. She said it was a lightbulb moment for her.

They just did a story here about using food 3 times. We did this when we we were really poor and kept it up. It really helped as I aged and my body changed and was harder to keep weight off and blood pressure lower. I can never, never get the pictures out of my head of all the starving people around the world when I throw away food. I guess it was burned on my brain when I was little. Think I'll teach a class in this now that I'm writing it down!:rotfl:

How to save on Groceries

Nelson recently went head-to-head with a television reporter, shopping in the same store with the same list. At checkout, the reporter spent $232.60 for a week's worth of meals for a family of four. Nelson's bill was $73.35.

We've got to get started on this too.

a friend of mine has been doing the grocery game for the past year and it has changed everything for her family of 5. The other thing we do is once per year we collect all of our receipts for the month and go over what we spend our money on to make sure we are following our food budget.

. . . My neighbor came home the other day with McDonalds breakfast and coffee from Starbucks and said, "Kelly would never ever do this... and that's why she's been on two extremely large vacations 2 years in a row and we've been nowhere!" I was pretty surprised that she told me that.
Hmmm. McDonalds or Disney cruises. No contest!

Yes, we're in!:woohoo:

Donna
Donna, Jan & Dave are considering the following week for their anniversary. But since they're doing a Western this year, she told me they're not sure yet.

I agree!

Wow, quite a list of folks you've got going. My birthday is that week, I should be there too! But I'll be at DL that day.

Kelly - you can go to DL almost any time....come join us and we'll help you celebrate!

I haven't got the dcl gift yet - has everyone else received it?

It was something that had a run of 500....so I think it was distributed by lottery only :confused3

Well, whoever gets our weather next...beware...we spent the night without power in 50 degree cold, rainy and windy :furious: Power came back on around 3am....thankfully, Scott had just gotten home from Vegas and was cold so he made a fire before we lost power which was nice...at least we stayed warm.
