You were there. Remember, we were standing by the curling of the handrail on the port-side Grand Staircase. Tyler crawled through the railing to stand by me and Tom and then managed to get out past us when the photo was done.

Look to the right, about half way up the group.

:rotfl2: OK, I remember now! I was having a non-blonde, blonde moment.

I recently learned that a major component of WD-40 is fish oil. Birds supposedly hate fish oil so someone said that if you spray the area with WD-40 the birds will not hang out there. I cannot vouch for the plan, it is just something I heard.

Jan :earsgirl:
OH, THANK YOU! Hey, I'll try anything, so I'll definitely give that a shot. :hyper:

11pm here on the HOT East Coast. I am so tired. My mom is doing badly. My brother and I spent an hour on the phone trying to figure out what to do.

This morning with all her clothes on and her sneakers and sweater, she weighed 85.5 pounds. She is down now 12 pounds since I left for vacation. It was 100 degrees here today and she would not take her sweater off....

She will not come out of her room anymore. Her teeth are falling out and she will not let me take her to a dentist. I took her to the doctor and she has to see a GI doctor...which she refuses to do. I took her for x-rays today and those results should be back tomorrow. I can't help help if she does not want to help herself.

It is just so sad. I hope I learn from this.
Oh my gosh Lisa, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I wish I lived close enough to come help you and give you a break or a hug or a laugh or something.

Is this his Pirate AARGH face? or is he mad that you woke him up?

Mario?

Jan :earsgirl:
I wondered if anybody would wonder if Tyler was just being grumpy. That was indeed his pirate AARGH face. :rotfl2: Pretty convincing!

Mario was our room guy.

None of our postcards have arrived yet from the PC day. I know that is Central America and we are the UK, but how about the rest of you?

The one we sent to ourselves arrived last week - no postmark.
One also arrived in Surrey. No reports of any others yet, and the ones to work definitely have not arrived yet.

Yeah, it's called the "Runner's Package" because as soon as they see you doing it you'll be running from security! :rotfl2:

:lmao:

ok, my morning has been wasted so far. I need to get some work done!

I need a pt job to fund my travel plans!

John has softball tonight, so a girls night in.
I am really going to start budgeting and making meal plans for the week. I waste so much money at the grocery store. We could probably cruise again if I was careful about it!

Day 1 of my new lifestyle went well....now on to day 2!!

I'm one day behind on the start up of mine (needed groceries). Packed my lunch and had a bit of protien for breakfast. There's actually fresh fruit and veggies in the house! :woohoo:

.
BUT, I'm late getting ready for work....yikes. Guess I will have to cut back a bit on morning DIS time, eh?

.

so I finished my orientation class last night, you have 2 weeks to complete it - but it was relatively simple.
I am waiting on my book to arrive for my next class which happens to be HR Management Methods. Fun stuff!

How to save on Groceries

Nelson recently went head-to-head with a television reporter, shopping in the same store with the same list. At checkout, the reporter spent $232.60 for a week's worth of meals for a family of four. Nelson's bill was $73.35.

We've got to get started on this too.

Goodmorning all, Well, I filled up my car for $4.49 pg yesterday and almost died when it hit $70. 2 blocks away it was availble for $4.79, two blocks the other way was $4.37 and I wanted to kick myself because I could have saved $1.20!:rotfl:

Lisa, man have you got your hands full. Here's a big sweaty hug

The kids and I are thinking of Father's Day plans.

Here are the ideas in the hopper (random order) :

Indy Movie
Day at the Beach (Half Moon Bay)
Hooters for wings and Gin & Tonic (for Paul) rum something for me
The kids are drawing him a picture of a big screen tv (wall mount) but since he bought the go-kart trailer it's just gonna be a picture for now
Duct tape wallet (got an email from Family Fun magazine)
Breakfast of some sort that we make for him, most likely Dutch Babies

That is the list I think we most likely will do them all, but it will depend on energy that day.:faint:

Didn't know what the Dutch babies were so I looked them up and think I must try them... Thanks for the new idea! We're going to CAdv for FD.

There is a live webcam at AKV set up by a DVC member.

Ken,

I heard from someone yesterday at work that they are having trouble finding Wii Fit. I had pre-ordered mine on Amazon, so it was waiting here when we came back from the cruise.

Ken, have you talked to any of the store manager to see when they will be receiving their next Wii Fit shipment?

It is surprising that Nintendo always fails to meet the demand for their products.

I've been faithfully working out on the Wii Fit and I noticed yesterday that I was actually feeling better.

I've also rearranged my routine a bit. I'm no longer taking the bus or El home. I'm now taking commuter rail. The station is 2 blocks away from where I work.

What this means is that instead of taking 1 hour to 1.25 hours start of ride to end of ride, it is now taking me 9 minutes to get from the station near work to the station near my house.

On the flip side, I have a 10 block walk home from the station. But I am getting home about 1 hour earlier, which is the time I'm using to exercise.

Consequently it also means I'm doing a lot more walking everyday.

Good job on the more walking! I'm hoping Shannon gets a new job and we move to Prince George so I can either walk or ride my bike to work.

I kinda expected the "short falls" for the Wii Fit after listening to your description of it. Not sure why Nintendo does it, but they do and it has become a regular SOP for them. Especially up here in the remoter areas. I did speak to the Managers of the various stores, but because they are all chains, they have no idea what will come in and when - that is all determined by a larger office in a larger centre (read: Vancouver or Toronto).

We'll get one eventually. Our local Wal Mart still can't even keep the consoles in the store for any length of time - let alone a Wii Fit.

We had some fun with the Wii Sports last night. Shannon thoroughly kicked my butt at Boxing (that is until I moved the sensor bar to the top of the TV rather than below it). Just playing those games is a workout in and of itself.

I also picked up Wii Play because I wanted an extra Wiimote so we could play two players and it was cheaper to buy the game which came with the remote than to just buy the remote itself. Haven't opened it yet but a co-worker (who is in her 60's) was telling me how much she loved each of the games in that package.

I'm guessing I won't get much accomplished this weekend!

WOW! Will have to go check that article out!

Have to go to the grocery store myself today.

V, Jill & Kari (and anyone else that is taking classes) - my hat goes off to you. I think it's amazing that you can also tackle classes....and deal w/ real life.

Lisa -
I'm so sorry that your mom is behaving like she is.....as someone else stated could she just be giving up? Is there anything that you can tell her/remind her of that might give her reason to get better?

I'm glad though that you were able to get your brother involved. Remember we are here for you when ever you need us.
