Monica - are they a bad cruiseline?

I think I found the perfect cruise for us....4/3/09 16 night from Ft Lauderdale to Lisbon, Cadiz, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome.
We'd only have to fly home! $1499 pp porthole.

Hi V - NCL as a whole is not a bad cruise line.....I've just heard bad stuff about the Pride of Hawaii.

Sweet price for a transatlantic....what kind of price for the flights tho?

I'm still looking at the Carnival (believe it or not) and RCCL cruises for Northern Europe (in/out of London).

I am trying to be patient about the Northern Europe tho....since DCL is opening an office in London....maybe????.....hoping/praying ::yes::

Did anyone else buy the 2 different scrapbook kits on board???

Actually those are the cruises we were considering for this year before we heard about the Disney Magic PC! Since it was our 35th wedding anniversary present to ourselves, we had always considered Hawaii, since we went to Alaska for our 30th,

But I am so glad we chose the pirate:Ship Of Thieves instead! :sail: I guess we'll make Hawaii for our 40th anniversary! :disrocks:

I'm glad you chose the Ship Of Thieves cruise too or we wouldn't have met you!! It is our 40th wedding anniversary next year so I keep looking for something special.

Marilyn - this sounds like there is a story attached! Do tell!:lmao:

Well hearing from John personally is the best way, so remember to ask him in November. He did have a few accidents with superglue, amongst many other funny occurances, when he was a teacher. He shared a few at our table but has quite a few other tales as well.

We gave up when we were supposed to go to Rockin Bar D to ask something of the DJ!!!

Hi V

We had been at Med with Disney Cruise last year as it was lovely but only trouble that Monte Carlo and Rome was very expensive trips!!

We find that this year at trip much cheaper than Med. but it was lovely place to see.

I am trying to be patient about the Northern Europe tho....since DCL is opening an office in London....maybe????.....hoping/praying ::yes::

Well interpreter and I spoked to Brent about Northern Europe because he had been asking last year on Med cruise. He said hopeful 2010 but cannot guarantee that why we booked bummer dates 2009 for 2010 as we are hoping about it. Wait and see in Dec/Jan.

Did anyone else buy the 2 different scrapbook kits on board???

I did it. *** I love scrapbooking I got two from Linda plus it.

Have not starting it yet apart from Linda's Scrapbooking - done it.

Oh yes, I uploaded photos last night took me 2 hours and not finished yet. Ian remind me about you for Castaway Cay so I will email you later this week or weekend okay.

Hi Deborah....let Ian know that I will NOT forget to get him his parasailing pictures! I downloaded them to my laptop and can send them to you once I get your email (you can pm me) :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Thanks for understanding. After reading some posts on here I was starting to feel like an outcast. Thanks for lifting my spirits

Awww Alan there's no way you could be an outcast.
You did stick to your small group of friends on the cruise though!
Meet ya at Rockin Bar D tonight.........oh wait :(

Do you think all the others' fascination with Alaska is because they have all cruised so much already? We are new cruisers so haven't moved on from the sun and heat yet.
.

We have done 10 DCL cruises and Alaska still does not tickle our fancy, we still want tropical.::yes::

Well I hope to get to go to a post meet. With my dumb luck I will have to work. I do know I will be at DL on Friday, next Thursday to preview Toy Story, and the Thursday after that for the opening of Toy Story. Maybe we will run into each other.

Still hoping to make it down for the opening of Toy Story. A friend told me it is cool! :thumbsup2

Hey PJ. DH and I really enjoyed the Billy Hill and the Hillbilies show at DL. What about you? You and Angie & Dennis really luck out getting the box seating. I was so happy you got chosen.

That was really a fun day and being the Dream Family to sit in Walt and Lillian's box was our second magical moment that day. We got on the train at Tomorrowland just after 9 am and we were the only guests on the train with Minnie, Pluto and Goofy! :cool1: Goofy and PJ had quite a lot of fun!

Who stole the Captains picture, why and where was it?

Hi Marilyn

what are you talking about? think I have miss something :goodvibes

where Captains picture before? Was it in window at shop?

Sorry I have no clue :rotfl:

Oh what a lovely day today, manage caught up with the washings, still piles huh.

Scottishwee35

Boy got busy yesterday so didn't get back on and today I had 20+ pages to catch up on.

Carol, are you back to normal yet?

Marilyn,

Getting there. I had a bad week last week, weather was bad all week so had a migraine almost every day and I think the adrenilin (sp?) from the trip finally left so slipped into a little depression. Today it is sunny and warm so my mood is already better.

Angie, when we all got together on our table it was hilarious, believe me:lmao: !!!

Mmmm, normal!! Perhaps that is my problem - I have no normal to get back to.:rotfl:

Can't say that any of us fit into the normal category and that is what made it so great. :rotfl: :thumbsup2

I have no desire whatsoever to go to Alaska. I always say I will go to Alaska when palm trees start to grow there. Vacation for me means hot weather and palm trees. I am hoping DCL does regular cruises to the Southern Caribbean with one of their new ships.:goodvibes

DH really wants to go to Alaska and so do I. The scenery looks beautiful. Cold isn't so bad to visit but don't want to live in it anymore.

I was cold in all of the restaurants and venues on the ship...even in our stateroom. I sure was glad that I brought along a pair of lightweight winter pj's.:thumbsup2

Actually I froze the whole time I was on the Magic in October but this time was I comfortable most of the time.

:lmao: :lmao: Do you think they can hear us?

I think someone from each Disney department reads most of the busy threads. They use these for a lot of their feedback. People will say things here they wouldn't put on the cards, if they fill the cards out.

I LOVE the Wii fit. I had preordered on Amazon. It was released while were on the cruise and waiting for us when we came back.

I did the skiing the other day and really liked it, though I am not terribly coordinated. But I have been doing it because it is fun and improves muscles and balance.

My favorite so far is the hula hooping, mainly because my heart rate really does go up. I was crap at it initially, but now I have beaten Sukie in the number of spins (though muscles I typically don't use are now aching).

I also like the running (you run in place) as I find that also elevates my heart rate.

The yoga is also cool and I really feel the stretch.

It is better than a video, because of the bio-feedback. With the yoga, you have to keep a red dot in a zone, which you can only do if you are balancing correctly.

I've really only just begun to explore the Wii Fit.

We have Dance Dance Revolution too, but I have to get some kind of foam mat to put under it, since the system is in our basement bedroom and the floor underneath is concrete and not too good on the ankles. Also my lack of coordination doesn't help either! :lmao:

I want one. Need to talk DH into it and then find one.

Me too......and so is Jaide! That gemini quality is soooo strong!

:furious: and  all in one!

I told you I am two different people. I'm a Gemini all the way! I don't think people believe me, well they do now!

Being a Gemini too, I have always been told I am two different people. I kind of like it sometimes, keeps people guessing. :rotfl2:

I wore my lanyard the first 2 days and then realized that if I wore my DVC one, I could get pins if they saw me....so my greedy side put away the SOT one quickly for the DVC one (and I got several pins through the cruise:goodvibes ). Also, it wasn't until half way through that I realized that Kelly had saved all the files so I could get a reprint of the cards...the kids were ruining theirs and that just wasn't going over well with the scrap mom!!! :lmao:

We got phone messages to remind us to pick up our pins at the desk so I was able to get most of them there and still be able to wear my Dis lanyard.

Yes, yes, yes, I do have all the Powerpoint copies of everyone's lanyard badges. So, if you want me to email them to you for your scrap books, its an easy task. My original intention was to make 2 copies for everyone in case they got wet, but when we got to 400 lanyards I was running out of laser ink!:badpc:

I went back and forth about getting lanyards that were bigger for pins, but the one thing we learned last year was that we got hot, sweaty and ichy with the wider ones. It was a tough choice though. :confused3 I also really like the ziplock badge holders, but some of them break, so I went back and forth on that too. So many decisions!!:surfweb:

Sent you a PM. So glad you did the lanyards and they were perfect. We had them on the 11 Night Southern Caribbean and I was sooo hoping someone would come up with the idea for this trip. They come in so handy for holding kttwcs, licenses, etc.

Planky often made appearances at the special themed dinners...otherwise he just stayed in the room and ran room service wild!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

We couldn't afford to leave Chewy and Sadie in the room during meals. No telling what kind of RS bill we would have had. They got into enough trouble when they were left alone while we were on excursions they couldn't go on. In fact we had to have Jerrlynn our room steward keep an eye on them so they would stay out of trouble. :rotfl:

Hi guys!!

I am feeling better....but still have a little way to go.

DC has had bad tornados today and tonight. Gretcehn and Annie go to different schools and both schools had to go into "tornado position" or 45 minutes each. In the hallway, on their knees, with their arms over their head. No damage right in Centreville, but 10 miles away people did die!!

I think I heard there are about 1,000,000 people without power in DC Surburban MD and Surburban VA.

Schools in to neighboring counties have already closed for tomorrow. Fairfax County is still open tomorrow at this point.

Lisa,

Those storms went through Ohio just before they hit you. They hit some areas worse than others. Luckily we live in a kind of bubble and all we got was some nasty lighting and thunder. Hope things are better today.

I didn't even notice you had a stutter when we spoke!

Well, I'm really glad we finally got to meet! I was worried I was going to go the whole cruise without meeting my fellow Canadian (even if you are from Tranna ;) )!

PJ,

Never noticed you had a stutter either. Always enjoyed running into you.

Carol, and hopefully Cork if she is lurking.......John was late home from work last night as he had glued himself to something!!!!:rotfl2:

Okay, if you won't tell the whole story we are going to have to get Cork and Rich so that we can plan another cruise and hear more stories. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I went on NCL for my first cruise a long time ago and had a great time but have heard that they have gone downhill quite a bit. Hope they are improving.

Did anyone else buy the 2 different scrapbook kits on board???

I did. Now all I have to do is use them.

Have to go now and get my day started. Later everyone.

Carol

but at least you got to go on the Panama cruise, eh Deborah? ;)

:cool1: :cool1: thanks....and I hope you're feeling better soon and can get those 'numbers' sorted!

Mandy

True, I have your magnet up my door wall.

but I want go back next year::yes:: ::yes:: but Sept is no good:mad:

Never mind I patience and wait until 2010.

Carol -  please make sure that you take care of yourself....hope the migraines are gone. Make sure you get yourself out in the sun for a bit (as much as you can).....take a chair and a book and relax. Sadie & Chewy will keep you company I'm sure :)

Remember we're always here for you!
