ARUBA

I was wondering if anyone can post what they did in Aruba and what you thought of your choice? We are trying to figure what to do while in port here

Thanks

Thanks Kelly. I had just found that one online available over here. It is exactly double the price here!! We do find that to be the case with many items.

Yes, I was just looking for Peppa Pig stuff and it is available at Next in England, but they don't ship out of the UK. Marilyn, Do you have paypal? If I can't get it on Ebay and I send you the money could you send me some Pig gear?

How could I avoid you, you were everywhere I was!

Once again, proving that people on the same dinner rotation ended up seeing each other all the time. Also, kids with the same age!

You seemed a little more shy and quieter than I expected, but I didn't see you after you had had a drink so others will contradict me I'm sure!!!:rotfl2:

You do seem much more shy in real life.

I had a little weep today. I opened my kitchen drawer and the little notepad with the chilli on it that we got in our FE was in there. Then I went into my bedroom where the gifts Monica made/gave us at Champagne Girls were at the side of my bed(thanks Mon:hug: ). I then tidied up the door magnets that I had brought home and realised that I wouldn't be using them again! That one that mentioned 460(since booking day) or so days just did it!

We just opened DD's carry-on bag and it was filled with everything from day one of our trip. It was stuffed to the brim with goodies. But in it I found the packet from Monica for the Champagne girls. I had stopped by to see everyone even though I wasn't signed up for it and she gave me one. I couldn't believe how adorable it was. I love it and have it hanging on stuff on my desk.

Believe me, you saw me after a lot of drinks at the champagne tasting. I went to martini tasting before that. That was a wild day!

I do agree that I'm shyer in person. I do talk a lot in person but I'm quite, if that makes any sense! I don't have a loud voice. A lot of people always say what to me and come in closer. I'm always afraid my breath stinks!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What? I thought you wanted to cruise together from now on :lmao:
Well of course we do, so since Jon wants Alaska too thats were we can go next.:thumbsup2

We did the Natural Wonders of Aruba tour through DCL, and I would suggest you do the island on your own. Save your money. We really wanted to spend more time at the Butterfly farm then the tour allows. We thought the aloe factory was a joke, waste of time there. The natural bridge was cool, but again only a few minutes to spend there. I know some people from the DIS group rented jeeps and had a good time.

Will you do house calls in Chicago? We could really use a good dog sitter.

If I could get to Chicago as easily as I can get to Scottsdale, I'd be your gal!

I went to an International Reading Assn. convention in Chicago a couple of years ago. What a wonderful city! I know I want to go back there some day.

I will get you some Pepper Pig things of course. I had actually forgotten we talked about it.

The items Monica gave us are so special but because of the mad way things were at the champagne Girls, i'm not sure I said thanks properly, so a big THANK YOU Monica. Tink is on my keyring now too.

There were so many great FE gifts and some very funny too.

Wii Fit.......Ian, do you just love it?! i have been searching for it since we got home and it is out of stock everywhere. I want that and Scott wants the wii ski to go with it to get him ready for ski season. Right now I still do Dance Revolution to get my exercise, but the fit just looks great...so many options so you don't get bored.

The hardest thing for me on the boat was balancing wanting to see and meet everyone with family time and alone time with Scott......just too much to do and so little time. How do people cruise for just 3 days?! :lmao: So, for those reasons, I didn't get to spend as much time with others as I wanted. :( And, the issue of clubs closing at midnight when the bars stay open until 2, what is up with that? At 1159 Rockin Bar certainly emptied out each night, so unfair!

I'll add my thanks to everyone for the great gifts through the trip. The girls loved coming back to see what was there. Note to self: next time, no individual names on the pockets. To them whichever pocket the gift was in meant the gift was for that person and there was some drama over that one!

The tissues were great, but Taylor used them all up during her 2 days of tears after we got home :( Oh and she had one of the CD's playing everynight with the horn on repeat, just to add fuel to her crying spells! Still going through my pics, I hope to post a few sometime this weekend.

YES, YES, YES....the Champagne Girls with the Original One.....YES you MUST do this one with us!!!

well Deb.....don't tell anyone...but WE BOOKED SEPT 09!! (just the Tortola one) :cool1: Fingers (and everything else) crossed we make it this time.....another Champagne Girl get together is in order I think!

I missed so much from this cruise so I really do hope we get to go on this next one..plenty of time to save!::yes::

now to get that champagne girl back in my sig....:surfweb:

While uploading and going through some of my pics, I found this one amongst them all.

It was taken in Diversions just as the Champagne Girls were getting together and getting organized. Recognize anyone? ;)

what a great picture!:thumbsup2

I LOVE the Wii fit. I had preordered on Amazon. It was released while were on the cruise and waiting for us when we came back.

I did the skiing the other day and really liked it, though I am not terribly coordinated. But I have been doing it because it is fun and improves muscles and balance.

My favorite so far is the hula hooping, mainly because my heart rate really does go up. I was crap at it initially, but now I have beaten Sukie in the number of spins (though muscles I typically don't use are now aching).

I also like the running (you run in place) as I find that also elevates my heart rate.

The yoga is also cool and I really feel the stretch.

It is better than a video, because of the bio-feedback. With the yoga, you have to keep a red dot in a zone, which you can only do if you are balancing correctly.

I've really only just begun to explore the Wii Fit.

We have Dance Dance Revolution too, but I have to get some kind of foam mat to put under it, since the system is in our basement bedroom and the floor underneath is concrete and not too good on the ankles. Also my lack of coordination doesn't help either! :lmao:

watch out what you wish for...I know a certain family of four is great and taking care of dogs :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Marilyn, I agree that it is hard to get back into the swing of things. I find it hard to just fit the time for the gym in. Going after work isn't attractive to me, because I don't want to walk through the door any later than I do. Going before work means getting up at 4:00 AM.

While we were away, my Wii Fit arrived. I set it up this past Saturday and have so far used it everyday, working out when I get home from work. Odd thing is, I react to it more like a video game than exercise. Forty minutes passes and I don't even notice it.

I think that is why I need it.

There was a bunch of discussion about DVC resale a couple of days ago. Here is who we used:
http://www.**********.com/DVC_to_BUY/page_1924721.html

Jaki Apetz is our agent and she is the most thorough, professional hand holder for scared buyers that I've ever experienced. She went through every detail with us without any pressure to buy... a year and a half later we finally bought. Since then she has kept in touch with us and we have referred several happy customers to her. She was always available for the silliest questions that we repeatedly asked. She was very helpful to explain things that we didn't understand.

We bought resale at OKW and will buy from her again. We have been given exactly the same excellent service from DVC in person, over the phone and in the mail... regardless of who we purchased from.

I will send a PM to Liserann, Disneylover5 and Fourmds who I think were all the people discussing this just in case the information I've posted is not allowed on the Dis.
