Hi Lisa

I saw her. She was on a tag fairy thread too. She is a bit too nice in my opinion.

How's mom doing?

Got a so late start today, we went to the Indy movie, liked it then out for slurpies, now we are watching gone baby gone. very rank so far, not sure if I can get thru it all. Paul was too tried to go to Hooters, maybe later.

tomorrow Paul and Wil are going to the track to practice. extended fathers day I think.

thank you Ian. I sit firmly with my hinnie in my throne, I don't need to call myself MEAN I just am.

Oh geez... I swear I'm going to have to change my avatar to Glinda the Good Queen!!! :rotfl2:

Oh... wait... she was a witch.... sorry...

Hi Kathe! You're up late! How are you? It's HOT here!:faint: Here's what is on Weather.com for Phoenix:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM MST SUNDAY. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH ISSUED EARLIER FOR SUNDAY HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH HOWEVER REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

UNUSUALLY HOT WEATHER IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE DESERTS OF SOUTH- CENTRAL ARIZONA OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 109 TO 112 DEGREES SUNDAY...AND POSSIBLY UP TO 112 DEGREES AGAIN MONDAY. THE HOT CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST INTO TUESDAY...THOUGH SLIGHTLY COOLER WEATHER IS EXPECTED BY WEDNESDAY.

DANGEROUSLY HOT CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED. IT WOULD BE WISE TO COMPLETE AS MUCH OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AS POSSIBLE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE SUN AND HEAT ARE LESS INTENSE. DURING PERIODS OF EXCESSIVE HEAT...INDIVIDUALS CAN SUFFER HEAT- RELATED ILLNESS WHEN THE BODY CAN NO LONGER COOL ITSELF.

IF YOU PLAN TO BE OUTSIDE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME IN THE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING...STAY IN THE SHADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND DRINK ABUNDANT AMOUNTS OF WATER. WEAR LIGHT-COLORED AND LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING. IF YOU WEAR A WIDE-BRIMMED HAT...YOUR HEAD AND BODY WILL BE MUCH COOLER. STOP OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES... DRINK LOTS OF WATER OR OTHER NON- ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES...AND IF POSSIBLE...SPEND MORE TIME IN AIR- CONDITIONED OR WELL-VENTILATED PLACES.

And I'm going down there tomorrow--am I nuts or what?????::yes:::tongue:
Wow! That is hot! I was up late last night because I didn't get home
from work until 1:00 AM and needed to unwind...tried to get caught up but didn't last long, as I needed to get back up at 6:30 AM to go back to work :headache: How I miss the Magic!

I also realized this morning that ... I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEK.

:cool1: :cool1: Ian and Sukie, I'll toast to you both this week. You'll only be a couple of hours away. My son is flying home on Wed...sure wish I had the week off work.

If you are wondering why I'm here and not, at the movies or the beach or Hooters...it is a migraine. I've had it since 8am this morning. I slept until 11am and just took another pill, (yuck) Paul is grabbing some groceries then I think we are going out to play. Better half a day than none. Darn these headaches.:headache:

:headache: Sorry you're not feeling well Nan

I found this photo on a trip report on another board. Did anyone see/buy this at Shutters? If I had known it was available, I would have bought one!

magic_214.jpg

Yes, we have it. It was an extra for us. I bought the big folder for our picture of us on deck on the crossing and we could choose another picture 'free'.

I have been thinking of photos we had taken I never checked on though and feel i might have missed some I would like - such as the Welcome Aboard one.

I purchased this pic too, along with the folder. I don't have a scanner, but could get a copy made in the photolab at work if you want, Cheri?

I was chosen to be on the governor's committee for excellence in education from this area. Found out I was the only school board member chosen from our county. It is a three day meeting to discuss ways to improve education in Ohio.

Congrat's John! That is quite an honour:thumbsup2

I'm not sure if anybody remembers me mentioning my friend Lisa who was diagnosed with leukemia right before our cruise. I went with another friend to go visit her during chemo. She was to be in the hospital for 3 weeks, and was to leave the hospital the week our cruise ended, unless test results at that time showed that they'd need to do a bone marrow transplant. I had been trying to call her now and then since we've been home. When I called the hospital they told me she was no longer there, so I'd assumed she was at home, just too tired with recovering to return phone calls. Well, her mom is returning calls from Lisa's voice mail because she died May 25th, just 3 days after her 36th birthday. She never made it through the 3 weeks in the hospital. I'm very sad for her 18 year old daughter because they were so close, more like best friends than mother & daughter. :( :worried: It's quite shocking how fast it happened.....much like Marilyn's neighbor. Unbelievably sad.

Holly  I am so sorry. This is so sad.

thanks for the headache good thoughts everyone. I've stayed on meds all day and kept it to a dull roar. Just wish they would poof be gone. Oh well the alternative to being alive with it or not without it I'm sure I'll take the headache.

tomorrow is the first day of summer break for the kids, so we are trying to figure out our "game plan" for while we are working. it's nice to be home, but hard to work and keep the peace between the kiddos all the time during vacation...

Just popping on quick to say...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dads out there!!!

Happy Birthday John1!!!!! sounds like you had a great day.

Holly, sorry for your loss.

Nan, sorry you have had a headache all day....hope tomorrow is better! Don't forget....8pm! :)

I am sure there was more, but I only read the last page or so....

Off to watch a movie and veg...survived the IL(FH) and now need some tequila!!! :lmao:

Holly- I am sorry to hear about your friend. My mom is my best friend too. I don't know what I would do without her.

Ian- Congratulations!!! I expect pics.

It going to be a busy week. I have to work 7-3:30 everyday, finish my swaps, finish lanudry and cleaning, and pack. I leave Sat. morning at 5am for the beach. So I won't be online much this week. My mom is helping with the swaps, since work wears me out so much. Oh and DH and I still need to go out for our anniversary which was today.

Today was great and I tried a new food. DH's family is always eating different types of food. Today we met them at the lake for a cookout. I don't like hamburgers but had to eat one. I thought it tasted strange but finished it anyway. As we were leaving DH informs that if was a DEER BURGER!!!! EWWWWW, I don't care if others eat deer but I don't want too!!! From now on when I eat with them I want to see the packaging as they have tried to feed me deer before too. Oh and a butterfly attacked me and my mother-in-law had to save me.(It was a huge butterfly). And of coarse coming home we got lost. Saw losts of goats and cows though. I don't think I can have an uneventful day. Oh and this morning I fell off the bed onto my head!! I need a vacation!:rotfl2:

Life with a Celebrity, Part 2

You would think that since the PBS documentary played over week ago, that the hubbub over Sukie would have died down. It hasn't.

He is still getting stopped. People point at him, whisper to each other, and then shyly ask him, "Are you...?"

Throughout all of this, I just walk 3 paces behind him, carrying his handbag.

Today I am finally going to transfer the PBS documentary from the DVR to a DVD. I started to do that last Saturday night, but realized the entire documentary (and pledge drive) would have to play while it records. Today I will do it, and just let it run. I will then import the video into my iMac and edit out the pledge drive, and burn a new DVD.

I have had nearly 2 weeks to compare Sukie live and Sukie on TV. I have come to a pretty dramatic conclusion ... I think I prefer Sukie on TV. You might wonder why? I have found out that on TV when Sukie starts talking, I can switch him off.

I need that on and off switch here :lmao:

going to clean the house from luggage and travel crap. I invited little leaguers over for a bbque tonight in hopes that I'd have a reason to put our crap away. See plan a party and clean up it works for me.

Happy almost, Gaylean.

Thank you. You better tell me again tomorrow :furious:
