Hello :)

We are going to WDW on the March break in 2006 and I have been looking at the prices from Air Canada. It is about $600 right now. I just read the earlier post from West Jet and their prices are about 200 less. Plus they have good flight times. Should I consider booking through West Jet? We have usually flown Air Canada, but I would like to try someone different.

Can you pick your seats on West Jet? (This was our problem with AC last year ... our flight was booked through AC, but was run by United. As a result we could not book seats ahead of time. Of course we ended up in emergency rows, which we couldn't sit in with the kids and no one wanted to change them with us until we got on the plane. The ladies at desk before you get on the plane were very rude to us about the whole thing and practically threw my parents tickets at them and my dd. We had more success coming home but ended up with two, two , two ... all far apart. With the two kids I'd really like us to sit in two rows near each other)

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks so much

We've flown Air Canada and Westjet. We'll be flying Westjet again in December. I personally like Westjet better. The flight attendants are nicer and friendlier. :)

No, you can't pick your seats until check-in. If you want to get better seats, you might want to check in earlier.

Hope this helps.

I had the pleasure of flying West Jet to Vancouver this past May and I was so impressed with this airline. This was by far the best trip that I have ever had on any airline that I have flown. The attendants were great, the pilots were a hoot and the customer service was the best. Unfortunately for me flying West Jet is not an option unless we want to drive 8 hours to reach the nearest airport that employs West Jet. If I had the chance I would choose West Jet over any other airlines.

DH and I flew West Jet to Orlando in Feb. for the first time. I am going in December with DD and DS and we are flying West Jet again. After bad experiences with both Air Transat and Air Canada, West Jest was a pleasure to fly with.

I'm with you about Ait Transat and AC -we flew West Jet to Orlando (and out of Tampa) in July - stellar service! We'd use them again! And they give Air Miles - which our travel agent didn't tell us! So if you collect, mention it as you book! :)

I also agree - I love Westjet! I'm "pooh" sized, and 6' tall, with all my height in my legs. Imagine my surprise when I got there really early so I could get a bulkhead seat, and the flight attendant said all their seats have lots of leg room!! I was skeptical, but when I got on the plane she was right - I still couldn't really stretch out, but I also didn't have the back of the persons seat in front of me bashing my knees the whole trip either! It was such a pleasant experience to actually be able to travel without bruised knees!!

I've flown with WestJet ever since - I don't travel a lot, but I usually take 1 or 2 roundtrip flights a year, and they have all been on WestJet since my first flight with them in 2002. I've only ever had one delay, and that was just 30min. When the plane did arrive, they did an extrememly efficient turn around, so we all got on the plane quickly, and were in the air much faster than I've ever seen it done before, and yet, you never felt rushed...

I really like their inflight TVs - makes a long flight much more enjoyable!

We also flew WestJet last spring to Tampa and thoroughly enjoyed it..we even loved their jokes. As far as picking your seats when a group or family is travelling together(booked on the same Itinerary) they assign the seats the day before the flight. We got to the airport 2 1/2 hours early because we were flying with 2 kids and wanted to be seated together but the girls at the desk told us that are seat assignments were made the night before..they look at the list of flyers and make sure that groups or families get seated together. Have fun! :cool1:

We flew with Westjet two weeks ago from YYZ to MCO.
They were terrific. Everything from the extra legroom to the satelite TV in headrest to the friendly staff(not forgetting the reasonable price) was excellent.
On the other hand A.C. customer service is abominable ,the pricing is ridiculous and the affordable Tango seats are tight for space.
there is no comparisson between Westjet and our "so called, self appointed" National airline.
