WEST JET YEG To MCO October

Good Day all! our family is flying to orlando beginning of October. Hubby and I are booked west jet plus seats, our adult boys are behind us a couple rows. We chose to break up our flights and fly to Toronto the afternoon before (oct 5) and arrive at around 7 pm, staying overnight in the sheraton gateway. We are flying the next morning on the 10:15 am flight to orlando. Do we collect bags the night before then recheck in the morning of the 6th?? or can we drop off bags/do customs the night of the 5th when we land in Toronto?? What do you recommend to make sure we make this plane WITH our luggage? we are going on a cruise as well as Disney/universal studios, so I DO NOT wish to lose any luggage! I am considering getting a apple airtag for our bags, but $130 is pricey for 4 airtags. What's the best way to handle the connection??

If you are doing check in luggage I believe you might have to pick it up when you land at Pearson.
A call to WestJet to confirm this might be in order ,,don't wait online..
ask for a call back.
To be honest here ,,, things at Pearson are not running properly and there is quite a few cancellations & delays.
Who knows what October will bring. Keep an eye on your flight (WestJet App) ,,, as many reports of flights being cancelled with no notification email going out to clients,, this happened to me last week.

I'd personally try and keep my bags with me if I could. Have you considered packing Carry-on & a Backpack each only?
Air Tags may help you locate the bags but if they are still sitting on an airplane in another Country ,,, not so much when you have to catch another flight or Cruise ship.

Pack your patience and remember the Airport staff are doing what they can with limited staffing.

After reading your post, I went and looked online and it says that the Sheraton Gateway and West Jet are both in Terminal 3 online...... So that is good.
