So how is it connecting on Westjet thru Toronto?
We finally have our flights booked thru Airmiles.
We have never flown thru Toronto before, the agent did say we make our connection in the same terminal..but with my luck the terminal will be the size of magic kingdom..LOL

In December we flew Calgary to Orlando, connecting in Toronto. At least at that point Terminal 3 was in shambles.. There was construction everywhere, and once you were past Securty/Customs there was 2 coffee shops ($6.00 for a bagel at one of them) and I beleive 2 lounge sort of restraunts which were completey full and had lines.. It was the longest 4 hour layover Ive ever expiereinced.. If I had to do it again, I would have paid the extra $75.00/person and flew direct, or taken United through Denver..

Just my $0.02...

We went through Toronto and it was not bad even with a change of terminals.

Did you have any adventures with booking with Airmiles? Did you get the number of seats you wanted etc.? Or how about choosing flights. I will be booking soon.

We have flown thru TO a few times and you have to plan a snack in you carry on especially with long layover.

Same as your trip WDW you should have something in the bag just in case.

We are booking soon for Oct or Nov.....woohoo

Ditto .. on the booking, how did it go??

We are looking to book Oct. 8-15 and also use Westjet. Flights out of Halifax are like $736 taxes in!!! That's so expensive! Does anyone know if any of the airlines has cheaper flights than that...maybe in the summer they may have a seat sale since it is "hurricane season"?

I flew through To on my way to DL last winter it was no big deal .But i would bring a snack $$$

The only way you can fly for much less is to drive to bangor 350 cdn tax in or manchester NH 199 cdn tax in

I wanted 3 seats..was only able to get two. Took it as it was only 2800 airmiles for two return tickets. Will buy the 3rd, I have a credit with westjet that needs to be used anyways!
I checked flights from mid oct thru to the end of Nov..really there was nothing that worked with what I wanted until I got to mid nov..I should have been calling earlier I suppose.
I don't have a long layover in Toronto, not really worried about dining/snacks etc as we will eat before we leave here..we leave here at 6am and arrive in Orlando at 1:03 pm..so not a bad flight time at all.
I was just wondering how it was to navigate the TO airport and customs there!
I am excited to go!

Robb our only other less expensive option is to drive 7 hours and stay over night in Minneapolis, that would get us 3 tickets for about 800.00 Cad..so it is easier to go this route here..no long drive. We have done the drive before though..and it is worth it if there is no other option!

Was it because just 2 were available or was it because they said there was a limit of only 2 seats per flight?

no only two were available..they had other flights with 3 but the date didn't work for me..

We just got back from WDW and flew WestJet out of Toronto Terminal 3. We arrived at the Airport at approximately 7am. There was a baggage carousel across from the WestJet Check-in desk. A flight had just arrived from Western Canada. People were picking up their luggage and the WestJet check-in personnel were directing them to go through their check-in area to follow the signs to US Customs & Immigration with their luggage. After US C & I you drop your luggage on a conveyor belt and then proceed through security. There isn't a Tim Horton's on the US side but there are lots of smudge prints on the window opposite the one you can see on the domestic side. We ate breakfast at Fridays American Bar. It was reasonable. We saw many people from the Western Canada flight on our flight. They looked tired. Many had homemade snacks. We boarded around 10 for a 10:22 flight. We landed around 1:15.

We tried the Airmiles through Toronto thing.... Booked solid. Makes me glad that we pay $75/year so that we can "get" flights for 1600 points anywhere in North America.

We got all five of us booked with airmiles through Westjet.
We booked as soon as the flight lists became available.
We just made the transfer to the flight to Orlando. The baggage took an hour to come form the flight from Halifax up the belt for us top take through customs. Glad the flight was delayed by 25 mins or we would have been stretched for time.

how far out did you try booking?

I got my annual fee back as a credit, I fly westjet often so really it came back to me.
My flights were only 1400....maybe the time frame makes it 1600?

Did it (from Winnipeg) at the beginning of February...was an absolute nightmare. Westjet lost 60% of our groups bags (which were sent to our resort 3 days into our stay).

Hi;

I believe the flight schedules come out approximately 6 months prior to the travel date. We booked in approx July for our February trip. While it seems like a long way out, It should be easy to book a room that far ahead and get what you want. The only thing that might change is the room rate, but it also gives you a great chance to watch for booking deals and snap them up when they come out. All Disney needed to know was the promo code, and they made the PH and water parks free on our package, which saved more then $500.00 on our final bill.

:rotfl2: We just got back from DW flying Westjet, connecting through Toronto and I know exactly what you mean. Once we were locked on the US side (on the way there), we each had a $9.00 sub, which was terrible, especially when you could see Tim's through the glass. My fingerprints are probably still on the glass. On the way back, I asked before going through security, if there was anywhere to eat after going through and she said "not really, there's only a Tim Horton's". I said "perfect", went through and had a good soup and sandwich.

So you are the person who has the seat on the 8th. That was the day I was trying to book and they said they only had 3 seats thru TO so we are going on the 9th. Same day return though, we are coming back thru Calgary( not by choice).

I just booked today so you may be able to get another seat on your flights.

thanks for the heads up!!!
i called and was able to get my third seat!
so kinda sucks i had to play around to get it..call back...but on the sunshiney side of things...i have 3 return tickets and it was only 4200 for all of them combined!

Mejaie.,.we are both staying at POFQ at the same time!

Glad it worked out for you.

We still have to book the hotel, but it is where we are leaning toward.

Have you found any "specials" during that time yet?
