West Coast Spring Breaks?

Trying to plan a trip to DL in March or April. We have only been to DL in late September. Can anyone tell me when the local spring breaks are for the DL area and what the crowds are like in March/April?

Well, we've been to DL in March during spring break 2 years ago and it was CROWDED! Wall to wall people and long lines for everything. We'll never go during that time again - just waaaaay too many people.

It seems to me that a large majority of schools have spring break in March, whereas a smaller number of schools have spring break in April. I'd go in April if I had the choice.

When we lived in Arizona, most (if not all schools) had spring break in March. Now we live in Washington State, and our son's school has spring break in April. It all depends on when the school year started. If school starts in August, spring break is usually in March. If school started in September, spring break is usually in April.

I live within driving distance to DL and our Spring Break is April 14-23, but we may be fighting the crowds at WDW instead .

I live in Eastern Washington. Most schools here start the week before labor day. Most districts around here have spring break the first full week in April. A LOT of people from here go to DL the first full week in April.

I live in Ventura County and our district has Spring break the middle 2 weeks of April. Most other districts around us are either the 2nd week or the 3rd week of April.

Schools in Southern California will have Spring Breaks any place from March 12 through April 22.

Wow, I didn't realize so many schools have spring break in April! Forget what I said, don't go in April!

Reading what others have said, it looks like your best bet for smaller crowds would be the first week in March. That week seems to be before any schools start their spring break. At least that's my take on things after reading the responses here.

The schools in my area that are on a year round schedule have the first two weeks of March off.

As I've said before on this board, the problem is not Spring Break itself. The
problem is when Spring Break AND Easter occur in the same week. This was the case in March 2005. It was a ZOO.

In April 2006, Spring Break AND Easter occur in the same week in most of California. You won't see me anywhere near the park during that week. Hopefull, your Spring Break will occur well before EASTER.

I am going to DL next Easter and was in WDW this Easter will DL be worse as we coped with the crowds at WDW by going early and heading back to the villa early afternoon.
