Can anyone share their experience with dropping off a rental car in Long Beach?
Anyone use Budget? What about checking-in while one person is returning the car like you can do in PC?

Thanks!

We just flew out of LB a couple of weeks ago. We used Enterprise but it was very easy to drop off. As we were pulling up there was a lady standing there checking our car in. Oh yeah there is a gas station not even a block away so you can drop off without being charged like $4 a gallon.

All in all LB Airport was cool.

Hope my info helps ya.

Hi, We dropped off our Budget rental car in Long Beach the morning of the cruise. We checked the drop off spot the night before and were so glad we did. It was a bit confusing and no one was at the drop off spot when my husband went the next morning. He had to leave the car and go up to the Budget office. That being said, check in was quick after he found someone and they called a taxi for him which came right away. Personally, we had a nightmare picking up our car at LAX (along with a few hundred other people that Saturday) and wouldn't use Budget again.

I recommend Enterprise. They have an office right across street from cruise terminal. After hours drop off at Harbor Hotel which will shuttle you to terminal. Very easy.

For those that used LB, how much was cab ride to terminal?

We chose the Long Beach office to drop off our rental car. I was told the office (it is just a room) closed at noon on Saturday. We hit some bad construction traffice so we did not get there until 11:40 AM. No problem, they never opened that day!

There was an 800 number on the door and they told me to drop off the car at a hotel around the corner. I did and we took a taxi from there. The taxi was just over $20 and the ride took around 15 minutes.

BTW, I could not believe the car rental rates. I think our car was $42 for two days. It was cheaper to rent the car than take SupperShuttle once.

We did take SupperShuttle back to Orange County (John Wayne) airport. That was $60 for three people. In addition, our reserveration was for 9:30 and we were off the ship by 8:00 and had our luggage. I was not looking forware to standing there for 90 minutes and as soon as we stepped outside, there was SuperShuttle stop. The van parked there was going to our airport so we took it. I would definitly take it again.

Thanks for all of the replys! I had to be off-line to attend a memorial service.
I got a good rate for a minivan from Budget so I guess I need to stick with them even if the wait is going to be long! We will have to have a minivan to haul all of our stuff for the repo cruise! We are arriving on Friday so hopefully that will make the lines somewhat more manageable! I had a similar problem at Alamo at LAX a few years ago.

Anyone check-in at the port for everyone including the person returning the rental car? Where you able to do that?

Thanks!

I was able to stand in the check-in line at the port with everyone's tickets and passports while my wife went to check-in our son for Kid's Club. Someone from Disney at the port even suggested we do that to get done quicker.

Check-in took about 20 minutes but Kid's Club was much slower (about one hour). If you register you kids on the DCL web site then get in the pre-registered line for Kid's Club. It is much faster.

Wow, the repo cruise, I'm jealous! Have a great time! I checked us all in and registered for the kids club while my husband dealt with the rental car. It was great, by the time he came back the paperwork stuff was done and we got to relax, get our picture taken with Chip and Dale and listened to the great mariachi band!

We did this with Budget. We dropped everybody except our DH's off at the port. My friend and I stood in a looooong line to check in while the 2 guys went back to return the car. You upstairs of a business like building and leave the keys in the car then go downstairs and there's a small Budget office. They call you a cab and it's there in no time. The 2 DH's got back just in time to check in with us. We were at the counter when they arrived. We kept in contct via cell phone..that really helped. If you want more info about the staff at LB Budget....PM me I'll let you know. I don't want to post it here where everybody can read what I think of them. I would rent with Budget again...it's just a "small" location as they say at LB.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm glad to know I can check in DH while he is returning the rental!

P.S. Yes, we are getting very excited about our repo cruise!
