Well, my mom did carry me for 9 months, so there's that.

I had a key to get into the house as a kid. I took care of myself. Both of my parents worked way too much.

Did parents of GenX even know what that meant to be supportive? lol
I don't know that my parents ever even asked what I wanted to do when I grew up. I was never allowed to be in any after school activities bc we lived in the middle of nowhere and they worked 45 mins away in one direction and school was 25 min away in the other direction. They wouldn't have been able to get to the school in time to pick me up from practices and they were too old and tired to do it anyway lol. They were 35 and 40 when I was born, so late 40's early 50's when I was in jr high. Being in my mid 40's now with young kids, I get it now lol. They died when I was 14 and 19 tho, so I don't know what kind of parents they'd have been to me as an adult.
