Were you upgraded??

June 2001, we had booked a water viewroom at Beach Club. Faxed a request a couple days ahead requesting a room with two queen beds and a full balcony. When we got to our room, we had a room with two double beds and a small balcony. My husband went to the desk and complained about the room. We did not want double beds (especially at these prices). After standing there awhile (he just wasn't going to go away), they upgraded us to concierge, which was very nice. We lost the waterview, but gained the concierge.

Yes, we were upgraded!

July 4th week, summer of 2001, from a standard room to concierge! The YC aims to please, but I still don't think we will ever see quite a big upgrade as that again.

All but 2 other times we have stayed at the YC we were upgraded from standard to waterview too!

Thanks, Misti. The pics of the garden suites were amazing -- somehow I missed them at the WDWIG site, where I often look. The price you mentioned also seems right in line with other suites or the Grand Villas at OKW. The outside of the suites is what I liked best -- they look like beautiful little cottages.

These rent normally, right -- they are not available for "points?" That would be cool. It would be worth splurging if you had some extra points saved up. These cottages look like the perfect way to blow points saved due to "burnout!"

Upgraded from standard at BWV to 1 bdr Dec of '99

In Nov '97 we did pay for a 1 bdr, on our next trip I thought we would save a little money therefore booked the standard studio. Ended up being upgraded to the 1 bdr without requesting an upgrade. She didn't say why we were being upgraded, and I wasn't going ask!

We leave on the 9th for our next trip, and hoping for an upgrade since it will be our 10th anniversary.

At CBR we were very nicely upgraded to a waterview. We did not request an upgrade, just asked at check-in that we not be TOO far from Port Royale due to mobility problems. We spent a rainy visit in a lovely corner room in Aruba right at the bridge. One afternoon we pulled the room chairs outside our door and waited out the storm watching the rain on the lake. It was beautiful. We love CBR!

I was upgraded from a standard view room to a savannah view room at the AKL this past May. We just asked politely at check-in, and assured the CM that if no upgrade was available that was perfectly fine too.

We just returned today from our second upgraded trip in a row! DH says that he never expects them, but we were upgraded to a CR tower room last trip, and a suite this trip!!

Talk about amazing.... DH even went back to the desk to confirm that we were paying the price on our reservation confirmation, and the CMs both smiled at us!
It was really strange getting turn down service in the North Garden wing!!!
