Were you spanked as a child? Do you spank your kids?

My friend and her husband spank their kids. I think the thing that some people forget that it is NOT against the law....

I'm sure someone will correct me here - but I swear there was a law or maybe it just went onto the ballots about spanking. Trying to make it illegal in California? Maybe? Anyone else remember that? Maybe about a year or so ago...

I don't disagree that SOME states may have laws (or are implementing laws) pertaining to this...however, I fear for the state who chooses to foster out any and all kids who are spanked. It's going to get really costly, really fast for these states. Talk about sludging up our already inundated court system.

Again...big difference between beating the he** out of a kid and swatting/spanking them on the behind. HUGE difference.

And if you're going to go after parents who swat/spank ya' might as well go after the verbal abusers as well...if you're end concern is the childs overall psychological detriment to all forms of "abuse". Or the parents who overfeed their kids to the point of obesity/eating disorders...it's ALL tied into the concept of one persons parental beliefs over anothers.
