In High school I was in:

The Wizard of Oz
Brigadoon
The King and I
Hello Dolly.

I wasn't a star but had a lot of fun being a part of the productions especially the singing.

I just watched The King and I on TV the other night....wow! brought back many memories. :)

Tried out for a few, didn't make it, too much talent at our school. I ran the spotlight for the King and I, so I saw that production many times. I know all the songs and a lot of the dialogue! Did back stage lighting for another one - maybe Carousel? but I never saw it, only heard it.

I am a huge Theatre buff but sadly was never in theatre growing up. I was in band, dance and choir instead. Considering how shy I was I wish I was.

I preferred to be behind the scenes and ran the lights, sound or spotlight for every theatre and choir production while I was in high school. The only time I was onstage was when we put on The Outsiders - one of my favorite books ever - and friends convinced me to audition.

High School
Hello Dolly - Spotlight
Fiddler - Light Board
West Side Story - Stage Manager

Summer Stock
Pippin - Lights
Carousel - Chorus (they needed bodies)
Man of La Mancha - Chorus

College
Best Little Whorehouse - Chorus

I loved the tech side. Once the kids move out I might try to get back into it (if the job allows)

I was in a bunch of them. Played the housekeeper in Sound of Music lol. That's what happens when you can't sing and the school is doing a musical. Was in the pit band for Bye Bye Birdie. Had the lead in a murder mystery senior year. Had a part in a community theater musical one summer.

No, I have no discernible theatrical talent. Going to an arts high school there were kids who could sing and dance and act me into the next universe. However, senior year I was chosen to do the backdrops for the school's production of The Sound of Music along with some other Visual Arts kids. My specialty was drawing and painting bricks and stone, so that's mostly what I did.

Throughout Jr, High and High School I was with the Palo Alto Children's Theatre in Palo Alto, CA. My senior year was devoted to my high school productions: Scapino (Zerbinetta), Anything Goes (chorus), and Our Hearts Were Young and Gay(Cornelia Otis Skinner). I was a member of the Thespian Society.
Started off as a Drama major in college and did a couple of summer shows back home: Godspell and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
After moving to get my Post-Bac Ed. degree, I was in several "Shakespeare Under the Stars" productions held at an outdoor performing arts center/stage. They were amazing with huge audiences (free, picnic style in the cool of the night)!

I was too busy until senior year to get involved. I was in our fall play (Our Town) and spring musical (Sound of Music) senior year. I was in choir all four years though.

I took drama as a senior in high school, and part of the curriculum was performing in a night of one act plays. Once per semester. And I was in The King & I during summer school.

While at college, I worked mostly behind the scenes in the drama department, but I did participate in a local little theater group and was in lots of plays/musicals there. Among them - Fiddler on the Roof, Lock Up Your Daughters, The Drunkard, The Boy Friend.

lots but not at school (at least once high school hit). the choir and drama teachers at my high school had the attitude that it had to be 'all or nothing'-if you opted to do anything outside the school performance wise then you were s.o.l. on being cast or advancing in choir. the sad thing was there were lots of great opportunities for young people to do community theater as well as local college productions and those groups supported high school students participating in everything that could garner them experience. i opted for the 'nothing' from the high school so i took choir and drama classes with no opportunities for advancement/being cast but ended up doing tons of community, college, dinner theater plays, musicals and performed with traveling choral groups. i don't regret my choice-i didn't pursue it but after completing a summer program at the american conservatory theater i was recommended for collegiate admission by the staff.

Oh yeah. Two shows a year all through school, plus about three shows a year at an international award winning community theater starting at age 5. Majored in theater performance at community college, and was accepted at Guildhall in London. But my stupid self married my now ex-husband instead and didn't go. Ended up with a psych major instead.

My crowning achievement was senior year of high school. The director invited a friend of his, a Broadway director, to direct our Ibsen collection. She cast me as the female lead in The Master Builder. Maybe it's stupid, but it really meant a lot that I caught the attention of someone from Broadway.
