Were you at WDW first 2 weeks of 11/2004?

We are just back from 5 days at the CBR. That only means it is time to plan the next trip. We were a little disappointed in how crowded the parks seemed compared to years past for the same week. If you were at WDW during the first 2 weeks of November this year, would you please comment on the line length at major attractions, and how crowded the parks seemed to you? We are also considering the first two weeks of January, but I am concerned that it will be too cool for my children to enjoy the pool.

I will appreciate any feedback on this.

Sigh. You may get alot of responses here all saying the same thing, so I will say it for them: Many DISers said the 1st week of November was horribly crowded mainly due to the influx of people (like myself) from New Jersey. The 1st week of November, many people from New Jersey go to Disney since schools have a couple of days off. Many posters here on the DIS said it was horribly crowded, filled with rude people and line jumpers, and filthy smokers everywhere. The general consensus of some posters was "never again!". Sigh. :(

So everyone will tell you to avoid the week the Jerseyans are there. Let me help them out. Next year, the Jerseyans will be there roughly from Nov 9 to 13. So for next year, your best bet will be the prior week in November, as it will probably be less crowded. But I think November 2004 may have been unusually crowded - I remember reading that both weeks this year in November were pretty busy, and hurricane rescheduling could have influenced that.

I am surprised you had a busy time just getting back, as the first two weeks of November is probably far more busy than what you just had, I assume!

Whenever you go, have a great trip!! :smooth:

We arrived November 11th and were expecting crowds with SSW and F&WF. The Mears shuttle line was so long I wondered what we'd gotten ourselves into. They told us all the buses were on a 40 minute wait. Bus came 15 minutes later. We didn't go to a park on the 11th, but went to MK on Friday the 12th. It was busier than what we're used to, but manageable. Wait times were mostly 25 - 30 minutes, except for Snow White and Peter Pan which were both 60.
Went to DD/PI that night and again it was busy, but manageable. Of course MGM and EPCOT were both very busy on Saturday and Sunday but we expected that. And when I say very busy I mean people on almost every inch of the walkways, but not shoulder to shoulder. It took a lot sometimes to maneuver around people. I commented to DH how the crowds were wearing me down. But by Monday the 15th things had died down considereably. It was like being there in early February, except the weather was more beautiful. November is our new favorite! Preferably the week before Thanksgiving. Perhaps you should try that week.?

Like HugsForEeyore said, us Jersey people won't be there until the second week, next year, so I would go the first week.

It is a great time to go. We had beautiful weather the whole week!

Have fun! :)

We were there 11/7-11/13 and it really wasn't bad at all. We walked on many things or had a 10-15 minute wait (we avoided EMH days-maybe that made a difference-we've been very lucky with this plan on each trip). The weather was perfect!

We got to the parks Wed. the 3rd and hardly had to wait for any of the rides. We walked onto Space Mountain two times in a row without a wait. The weekend did get a little busier since it was Jersey week. Epcot was busy on the weekend because of the Food and Wine Festival. All in all it was not that bad. The week of Thankgiving the year before was much more crowded. Hope this helps.

I met my sister and neice at DisneyWorld the last week of Oct and we stayed until Nov 8.
I think the crowds were non-existant, yet my sister thought the crowd was huge.
Whatever the crowd was, we never waited in line more than 10minutes to get on any ride or into any show. The only exception was Sleeping Beauty whose line was never less than 40minutes (and worse the fastpass machine was not up and running).
In fact we were able to do most rides twice in ten minutes. Buzz Lightyear which is my favourite ride, we got to do it six times in a row within 40minutes in total time.

As for January: I nearly froze one January and I lived in Toronto at the time. It is hard to say what the temperature will be like so it is best to be prepared for anything. Afterall the people who live in Orlando wear parkas, gloves and even long underwear during Dec/Jan.

have fun, enjoy and ride Buzz as often as you can.
:cool1: :cool1:

We were there for Jersey week, 10/30-11/6. It was busy but we never waited more than 10 minutes for anything. We used Fastpass liberally to avoid longer waits. This was our 3rd year doing Jersey week and I do think this was the busiest of those 3 trips. I do think hurricane rescheduling was part of that as I know people who did just that.

Would I do it again? Absolutely - see counter below.

We were there 11/6-11/13 Crowds were pretty manageable Sun thru Tues. We went to Universal on Wed, the 10th and it was great, no more than 10 minute waits for everything. Thurs, Epcot was MUCH more crowded than earlier in the week. We didn't go to any parks on Friday or Sat. but heard they were crowded and I could see the hotel(Poly) getting more crowded. It was Super Soap weekend and Veterans Day on Thurs. That probably contributed to the crowds. The weather was fabulous, btw!!

We were there Nov 3-7, our first "Jersey Week".. found it to be a little more crowded than Sept, but not like Thanksgiving week! Even though we're Midwesterners, we enjoyed the "Joisy" accent! Looked like families having a good time to me!

Veterans Day was Nov. 11 and I planned my trip around SSW and F&W so I was expecting crowds. With a little planning, we were able to deal quite well with what we had over the weekend. We went to AK and Epcot on Monday and you could definitely tell that crowds had dwindled.

I was there 11/6-11/13 at CR. It was generally more crowded than past trips during a similar time. MK was by far the worst. But the rest were tolerable. SeaWorld & Universal were not crowded at all.
