Were you able to get a specialty drink on dining plan?

By specialty drink I don't mean an alcoholic beverage. I'm talking about milkshakes, smoothies, flavored teas, stuff like that. With the dining portion of the packages there is a restriction on specialty drinks. But it doesn't spell out what a specialty drink is. I noticed the same restriction applies to the regular dining plan as well. Yet, I swear I've read dining reports where people on the dining plan are ordering milkshakes and all kinds of stuff. And another question while I'm on the subject of drinks. Do the sit-down restaurants serve bottled water and would that be considered a specialty drink?? :confused3

My sis and I were able to get smoothies at Concourse Steakhouse. When our server first came up and asked if we wanted drinks, we told him we were on the dining plan and I said "we're limited to soft drinks and tea, right?" He said no, we could have any one non-alcoholic beverage, so we got smoothies! They were good, too!

Edit: should have said, this was on 12/11 at supper.

At Ohana...you are able to choose a non-alcoholic specialty drink. There are 3 to choose from: Strawberry Daquiri, Pina Colada, or Sand In Your Pants (My fave...a mix of both daquiri and colada). This is in addition to your usual dinner drink like teaa or softdrink. Awsome deal! Hope this helps!!

On our Sept./Oct. trip, we were able to get milkshakes (not good at all IMHO) at Sci-Fi Cafe for our beverage and smoothies at Boma.
