We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

Goofy then convinced her to do a matching pose with him. He figured since she had two braids, it was almost as good as having two floppy ears.

Sorry that photo was so blurry. Once we got done with meeting the Fab Five (why isn’t Daisy included in the bunch and it’s the Super Six or something?) we thought we would just head back outside. We found ourselves a nice little treat though. Apparently since Pixie Hollow had closed down with the closing of Mickey’s Toontown Fair, the fairies could be seen right around the corner! Not only that, we got a nice little bonus gift for waiting on the line. It was a cute little model that we could build of Tink’s fairy house from the third Tinkerbell movie. As always, we weren’t sure who we were going to be waiting for in that line, but we didn’t care one way or another. We got lucky as many people stepped aside and let us go ahead of them because they were all waiting for Tinkerbell. We ended up being the last ones to see Rosetta and Vidia.

ry%3D400

They were having a conversation here about what kind of fairy our little girl was based on her name.

ry%3D400

They didn’t know if she was a water fairy or if she belonged in the garden with Rosetta. It was a very serious conversation and they were really contemplating their options.

ry%3D400

I think Rosetta’s hand pose looks a little odd here. It’s almost like she’s doing an Eastside-Westside type hand gesture.

ry%3D400

Of course each of the fairies got their own little hug goodbye.

At this point, it was approaching midday and my husband was itching to get out of the park and over to the new hotel. Yes, that’s correct, we only hung out at Epcot briefly before we made our way back out. The weather was warm and beautiful and my husband needed to be at a pool asap. He doesn’t feel like he’s on vacation until he’s been in a pool and it was pretty chilly this trip. So he wanted to make the most of our last day. I knew we still had my fave park for later in the evening so I agreed to leaving.

We had pricelined a hotel for the last night of our trip and my husband was super excited to try it out. I would have been perfectly content to stay at POR. However, we got a pretty sweet deal and we scored a night at the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate. For some reason I don’t seem to have a lot of photos from the resort, so here are some from the internet.

The exterior of the hotel.

Photo of the pools and lazy river at the pool…..the big reason my husband wanted to head there asap.

The Omni was a bit further out, but not too bad of a drive. We pulled up to the front and my husband was immediately longing to golf. Too bad it was the last day and he didn’t bring his golf clubs. Slight technicality. No worries though, he was soon a happy camper.

ry%3D400

The pool area was pretty empty. Probably because it was February and the temps were only in the 60s. The water was ridiculously warm though, you could tell it was heated. Daddy wasn’t the only happy one.

ry%3D400

They got their splash on for a while before we had to head back in to get warmed up.

ry%3D400

Another perk of staying at this hotel? Free internet access.

You can also see the little model next to the laptop of Tink’s fairy house. We all got showered and layered back up for our last evening in Disney.

Your daughter is so adorable!!!
And I could not agree with you more that it is so worth it taking the little ones. My daughter is also a huge character fan. We have priceless pictures of the most adoring looks Em is giving to the characters.

I totally agree that people who think pre-schoolers/toddlers are too young for Disney are wrong! Caitlin went for the first time at 2.5 years and just like your little one, she loved it! She had no fear of the characters and still remembered things when she went back at 5yo.

The character pics are so cute! I love the Goofy one :cutie: As for the hand placement, someday you'll be able to embarass her with those

We leave in 17 days for DIsney with my almost 4 year old niece. I have read your entire trip report today! Thank you!!

Oh also...where did you get your autograph book...I love it!

I agree that the backgrounds in the character spot are a bit strange. And busy. You'd think people would want something less distracting in their photos! But your little girl is adorable as always with the characters! It must have been so fun to see how excited she was to meet her friends (again and again )

Thank you! I am glad that you also agree with me. Each trip has yielded so many priceless memories. I think that by 5-7 years old, a lot of the magic and wonder would be gone. Everything is just still purely magical at this age.

I can only hope that she grows up to love Disney as much as Caitlin does. :cloud9: I hope that all of the frequent visits to the World aren't having the opposite effect of her taking it all for granted or something.

Oh my, the hand placement is just classic for her height. I am sure they get that a lot.

Oh, that is so exciting! Less than 3 weeks! Thanks for reading!

I actually made the autograph book on Shutterfly - it's a photobook. I found it so useful in getting her over her initial fear of characters on an earlier trip. You will have a great time!

It's always fun to see her with the characters. I seriously get excited just watching her. You'll see a bit more variety in my mini-TR of our August trip to Universal.

YOu made that book???? DId you use a template? It is great! I admired it the whole trip report! LOL

Wow! The pool at the Omni looks awesome, no wonder your DH was ready to get there. I could sure go for a float in a lazy river right now, even though we've had a very mild winter thus far, I would still like some warmth!

Have I ever told you I thought your daughter was cute? Oh, I have? Yeah... she is seriously so adorable. I love how happy she looks meeting characters no matter how many times!

I don't understand the character spot backdrops either! I mean Character spot is awesome, but that just confuses me. I know it's kid-friendly but... I don't want a framed picture of me and Mickey with that background, ya know? :confused3

Wow that hotel pool looks amazing! How awesome that yall got a great deal.

Aww... last night in Disney. :( BUT we still have the August updates to look forward to, right? :thumbsup2

Yuppers, I did! I got a bunch of the page designs from the creative minds of the DISigns board. Then I put them into a photo book on Shutterfly. I've done it the past two trips and am debating it this next trip, but not sure. It can backfire too as she then feel like she has to get all the characters signed.

Yes, shame it was so cold out for most of trip. 60s is still a bit cold for me to get in the water, but my husband and daughter were happy to splash around.

I could totally go for a warm climate right now. It was in the 10s when I walked into work tonight. Brrrrrrrrr.

Aw, well, I never get tired of hearing that she's cute! My husband and I always talk about whether people really mean it or are just saying that because that's just what you say to people with kids. We think she's cute, but we're her parents.

Awesome deals are easier to come by when you start planning early. Because we end up changing our minds over and over again.

Yes - August will come up soon!

More wonderful character pictures. I think your little girl might be destined to become a Disney princess. :goodvibes

Nice score on the hotel and the pools do look beautiful. I can't blame your DH for wanting a little swim before leaving the next day.

Looking forward to your last Disney evening.

I promise, I really mean it! I understand what you mean though! If I didn't think so I probably just wouldn't say anything haha.

Well, she does say that she wants to be Annie and Rapunzel when she grows up. Sometimes she adds in Minnie Mouse too, then comes a mommy and a nurse. Glad to see where I rannk on the list.

Yes, we do like to try score some good deals on hotels when possible.

Aw, well thanks!

The last park night is always sad. You try to squeeze every last bit of Disney magic and fun into the last few hours. For me, I always need to end my Disney trip with watching Wishes. It’s my absolute favorite fireworks show and I just have to see it one last time. So now that my husband had gotten a bit of a pool fix, we got ourselves ready to head back to the Magic Kingdom.

It’s a different feeling passing through these arches when it’s at the end of your trip versus the start of a magical vacation.

ry%3D400

You don’t get that same shiver of excitement. That giddy feeling of anticipation of all the fun days that lay ahead. Instead, it’s just the bittersweet feelings that pervade your last park day.

ry%3D400

No lines to park when you come to the parks later in the day.

ry%3D400

Seeing the castle never does get old though. It’s so pretty sitting there in the distance.

ry%3D400

We decided that we would take a ride on the ferry instead of the beloved monorail. That provided us with the opportunity to see all of the sights in a leisurely fashion. I always feel like the ferry takes longer than the monorail, but they always say it takes the same amount of time. Must be all in my head.

So long Poly!

ry%3D400

Here comes the castle! We’re on our way!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Good bye Grand Floridian!

ry%3D400

We’re getting closer!

ry%3D400

You will see that our pink Mickey balloon has joined us once again. Also that our little princess decided that she would accessorize her outfit with a pretty floral lei, courtesy of our morning meal.

ry%3D400

We didn’t do much this evening. Our main objective was just to close out the vacation with Wishes and the Main Street Electrical parade. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t get a chance to take one last ride on the Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, though. We then headed over to Frontierland to stake out a spot for the big nighttime parade. I ran and grabbed some fried food goodness from Columbia Harbor House. That is our typical nighttime parade watching routine – sitting on the curb, waiting for the parade to stop and munching on some fried shrimp and fried fish.

Here comes Tink!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Hi Minnie!

ry%3D400

Hi Alice!

ry%3D400

Why hello Prince Charming. Are you checking out my foot size from way up there? I do love me some pretty sparkly shoes!

ry%3D400

After the parade was over and done with, we headed over to the castle to watch the new castle show. I love the Magic, Memories and you show! It is a close second in favorite shows behind Wishes, now. For me, it’s not just how fantastic the shows are, it’s the feeling I get when I watch them. I don’t really know how to describe it. I get goose bumps all over my arms. My heart seems to swell and I just get ….happy, hopeful, sentimental…I just seem to get lost in the moment. That is what I love about Disney and that is why I have to end my vacation with MK if I can swing it.

I don’t have any photos of the fireworks because pretty much, our little girl passed out while the castle show was going on. So we just sat on the ground and enjoyed Wishes with our own little princess in my lap. Sigh, goodbye Magic Kingdom.

The next morning we had a little bit of time before our flight left, so we had a lazy morning at the hotel. We decided to take a walk around the grounds and just see what the hotel had to offer.

The lobby was pretty, with all of the natural light flooding in.

ry%3D400

It was a beautiful day outside (of course it would be warm and sunny the day we go home) and we headed out to walk the path near the golf course. Our little girl was well rested so she was in a goofy mood.

ry%3D400

Not sure what this pose is exactly, but she does it often.

ry%3D400

The pool was very quiet and tranquil in the morning.

ry%3D400

Before you know it our vacation had come to an end and we found ourselves at the airport. We stopped off to grab one last princess photo ….

ry%3D400

and then we really did have to say goodbye to our happy place.

ry%3D400

Little did we know that we would be back in August……..

Aww this is making me sad :( Leaving is the WORST. You're so right about seeing the sign and feeling all bittersweet. Wahh I miss it I wish I could go back and never leave. :sad1:
That sunset is really beautiful! You lucked out getting a nice one on your last night.
Yay for the parade! And I SO agree about MM&Y and the feeling you get when you watch them. It's just indescribably magical and perfect. God, I miss it.
Wahhh leaving is so sad :sad1: But it sounds like you had a great trip!

Awww last night. So sad!
Those sunset pictures are beautiful! Ya know, something I noticed about riding the ferry is that you can see the castle SO clearly and then you get up to the entrance and the train station and you can't see it at all! It's pretty cool, but odd.

OH GOSH I feel the exact same way about Magic Memories and You. I don't even know what it is about it. Just the combination of everything, just like you said. I cry if I even hear that song. So beautiful!

I'm excited to hear about your August trip! :)

We always finish our trips the same way!! Except we get goodies from sleepy hallow :) what made you decide to return in august?! How exciting! We are currently booked for our annual trip in august...but crazy airfare prices may keep us away till 2013 :(

Haven't had much Dis time lately, but I'm still here.

I refuse to be sad about this TR ending since there'll be an August one (right? :lmao:)

Love that she had to get one last princess pic!

Lovely ending to your TR. I know exactly how you felt about leaving. It's always so hard. That's why I always have another trip lined up before I go. It takes the sting out of leaving.

That hotel really is beautiful. What a bonus to stay there for the night. Great idea.

Love the picture of your little girl and her airport princess.
