We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

Oh goodness, I know. I can't believe I'm saying this but I STILL have not seen the episode from... 10 days ago. But I have a VERY good excuse. I was getting ready for Disney, I went to Disney, and now I am recovering from Disney. Then there's that whole... Christmas thing? hahah I'm really hoping to watch it tonight or tomorrow but I'm worried because everyone I've talked to says they didn't like what happened... bah. I'll let you know as soon as I watch it!

YAY, bonus TR day! Hahaha, don't worry, I get it! I'm glad yall enjoyed Hoop-De-Doo Revue! I've never actually been but I'm heard mostly good things about it! hahah...NOBODY gets between her and her dessert! :thumbsup2

Well, I guess you did have a pretty good excuse for not seeing it. How was your trip? Are you going to write a TR? Cuz I'll totally come over and read it! And ack! I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming this year! I was hoping to get in another update before then, but it's not looking so good right now.

And yes, let me know what you think when you FINALLY see Once. At leats you won't have quite so long to wait until the next episode in Jan!

Hey Ann,
I don't know anyone with a child as close in age to Ry on here other then you to answer the couple questions I have... so the "other" Ann (you) it is!!! :)

1. Looks like Ryan and the little princess are about the same size- kinda on the tiny side? (Correct me if I'm wrong) --- I was wondering what kind of stroller you used?

and

2. Do you still think the Princess will fit/use a stroller when she's five? Should I anticipate Ryan using one?

I'm trying to figure this out cause I don't think I want to rent one, but I also don't feel like carrying a tired Ryan if he falls asleep or needs to take a break from walking. :confused3 We still bring one to places like that mall but it's a cheap and extremely uncomfortable looking no frills umbrella stroller....HELP!!!!

Hi Annie!
I think you are probably right in terms of size. My daughter tends to be a bit shorter. She is almost at the 40 inch mark. Which means she probably could have gone on a ton more rides in August, but she is also a scaredy cat with rides.

Anyways, we have always used the same stroller for our trips - I think it's an Evenflo. It's basically an umbrella stroller but with a bunch of pockets and cup holders. It doesn't recline at all. We decided that we didn't want to bring a stroller that we would get upset with if it was stolen and it has served us well. I definitely think you should still bring a stroller. We found it so helpful in the airport, walking around the parks, etc. It's a lot of walking for an adult, let alone a little person. Our stroller wasn't the most comfortable, but she did fall asleep in it when she was really tired and it saved us from having to carry her for very long distances.....

So, what does the chapter title have to do with my update? Not too much, other than the fact that the song is currently running through my head.

Okay, so we are down to our last park day now – for real this time. We were once again off to an early start this morning. Not because we were trying to make rope drop, but because we had an important breakfast ADR to get too. We were also checking out of POR and would be checking in to another hotel for the last night of our stay. My husband wanted to try out some new hotels in the area and thought it would be best to do it on our last night. I was a bit more concerned about what that meant for my precious park time!

So we packed up our bags and checked out of our hotel. Good-bye POR! While I was sad to leave our Disney hotel, I was excited to head to our breakfast destination. It was for a breakfast that our little girl had been asking for since the day we booked our trip. Does this view from our table give you a hint?

ry%3D400

What about the little accessory our little girl had on?

ry%3D400

We were having breakfast at ‘Ohana with Lilo and Stitch! My husband was excited at the prospect of more Mickey waffles and my daughter was excited about meeting Lilo and Stitch. I was just excited. We had a teeny tiny wait at check-in, but were soon posing for our restaurant picture and then being shown to our table. I liked the idea that the food came out family style in one large skillet. My husband liked that the Mickey waffles were brought around separately when he wanted more. And you know he wanted more.

Here is a photo of the spread on our table.

ry%3D400

Before we could dig into our breakfast, we found our little girl being swallowed up by a little monster.

ry%3D400

And she was loving every minute of it, of course.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Not only that, if you look carefully in the next picture, you may notice something in Stitch’s ear.

ry%3D400

He had stuffed a mickey waffle in there! I guess he wanted to keep it handy in case he got hungry. Oh Stitch.

Once Stitch left, if was time for her to get swallowed up by another furry friend.

ry%3D400

Do you think she enjoyed meeting Pluto?

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I mean, it’s not like she hasn’t seen him before. Do you think she got to start in on her breakfast after Pluto left?

ry%3D400

Think again! It was parade time and you know our little girl is not one to pass up on a parade. Especially when there are maracas involved.

ry%3D400

Did somebody say maracas??? Who likes maracas?

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She was so intent on shaking the maracas and following Mickey, that she was surprised to feel someone tapping her on the head.

ry%3D400

continued

We headed back to our tables after the little parade and wolfed down some eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles and whatever else was in the skillet. We needed to make sure we had enough energy for the rest of our day. Soon Lilo was stopping by to greet us.

ry%3D400

I happen to love Lilo so I wanted to jump in the picture as well.

ry%3D400

Then it was time for the big Kahuna. The big cheese. Mickey!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Remember how in love with Pluto she was? Well, she was in luck as he was rounding the corner again as we were paying the bill. She pretty much mowed him down.

ry%3D400

She <3 Pluto.

ry%3D400

Then it was time for some parting photos at the Poly. Why hello Mr. Tiki man.

ry%3D400

Would you mind terribly if I hopped on to your drums? No? Thanks!

ry%3D400

Wait mommy! I wasn’t ready! Now…..I’m ready.

ry%3D400

Then it was family picture time!

ry%3D400

Then we had a little bit of unexpected Disney magic. We ran into a family that was checking out of the Poly that morning and they were looking to give away a Mickey balloon. The little girl with them had picked out our little girl as the lucky recipient of her Mickey balloon. They told us that since they were leaving for the airport, they couldn’t bring the balloon with them and wanted to pass it along to another little kid. Lucky us!

She was in love with this balloon. All trip long she had been asking for a Mickey balloon. We just weren’t able to justify the cost of the balloon, especially since we wouldn’t be taking it home with us. And now she got one – and a pink one, too!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

That Mickey balloon was the same size as her pretty much!

ry%3D400

We figured we would do the same thing with the balloon. We would let our little girl enjoy the balloon all day on our last park day and then at the end of the night, she could pick out someone to give it to.

Here is our paparazzi shot of us leaving the Poly and heading to the car.

ry%3D400

up next: our first park of our last day :sad1:

Between the characters and the parade and the maracas, I was actually wondering if your little girl did eat breakfast that day!! But Mickey waffles are definitely too good to pass up (and, apparantly, stick in your ear...:rotfl:)

That's so cool that you guys got to play with the balloon for a bit! Those are very cute, but I agree, a bit expensive for a balloon that you can only keep for a little while!

I could totally go for that breakfast right now! :)

What a great way to start your day! Character breakfasts are always fun and who can resist Mickey waffles?

The pictures are of course, adorable :cutie:

I love how the other family passed along pixie dust to your family and that you decided to pay it forward :goodvibes

Haha, she did eat breakfast. Not a lot, but she did manage to get Mickey waffles in her belly. Stitch was in rare form that day. :rotfl:

Yes, what is it? I think $15? If we could take it home easily, I might not mind because we tend to have balloons that last forever in our house. It worked out perfectly.

You're trip is coming up soon! Are you excited?

I could go for that breakfast too! I am starving, but I've also been awake forever.

Right? Who can turn down a Mickey waffle?

Yes, we love to pay it forward when it comes to pixie dust. It was a great surprise and a fun lesson to teach our little one. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a happy new year!

I thought they were somewhere between $10 and $15, which really is a lot for a balloon! I'm not sure though, I've never traveled with kids to WDW, so we've never had to worry about balloon purchasing!

It is!!! I can't believe how soon it is! We're SO excited!

Awww - how sweet that your daughter was the lucky recipient of that balloon. That's awesome and probably made her day.

I'm glad you all had a great time at breakfast. I'm sure it was a blast.

Curious to see where you stayed on your last night.

Hiya Ann! I've been MIA for quite awhile so I had a lot of catching up to do!

I loved this last update, your little girl is just too darn cute, makes me smile everytime you post pictures of her having such a wonderful time :goodvibes

:lmao: This update had me cracking up! Ohana for breakfast looks so good and like so much fun! HOW CUTE that the little girl gave your daughter her balloon! That's so sweet. I love the photoshoot pics!

PS. I FINALLY watched the latest episode of Once Upon A Time... and I AM SAD.

OH! I remembered you asked if I was writing a TR and I AM! I haven't started it yet but I'm going to really soon!

Once again she is tooooo cute!! :lovestruc I hope Ryan is as good with the characters...although I highly doubt it. Hopefully he is alright with the princesses though - he does have a slight obsession with them :rotfl2:

Thanks for the stroller advice :) very very helpful!

We JUST had a quick blackout, so I lost the comments I had written in Notepad. Arg. I don't remember everything, but I remember some of it:

- I love how your DD was focusing on the dessert and not letting the washboard distract her! Her priorities are right!

- It's so great that she was able to get the balloon she had wanted! What a way to spread some pixie dust!

- Is the Kaki Gori flavored all the way through? I don't like it when ices or slushees don't have the flavoring reaching all parts and some of it is just plain ol' ice. It just seems like such a good snack on a hot day, and for our Disneymoon, we'll be there in May (I know it's not THAT hot, but it's much hotter than April, and I already don't like April!).

So sad to be nearing the end of the trip!

Just got my picture fix. Boy have I missed seeing your little one's pictures! Those hugs just are too cute. What a wonderful breakfast and character experience. And that balloon - it IS huge!

She was totally ecstatic about the ballon. It was a fun way to pay it forward too. We;ve done that with FPs that we didn't use, but this was a fun suprise.

I am always happy with a hot breakfast!:thumbsup2

We should get to the new hotel soon.

Hi Michelle! Happy new year to you and the family!

Seriuosly, she always enjoys herself at Disney. She is barely ever not happy around characters. One of the many reasons we keep going back.

We really enjoyed Ohana. Stitch was hilarious with his waffle in the ear routine.

The balloon thing was fun and she had a lot of fun deciding who to pass it on to later that night.

Right? I was upset about how they ended that episode. I thin he'll be around in flashbacks, but I keep hoping that maybe he isnt' really gone.

And I'll be on the lookout for your TR!

Thanks for the stroller advice :) very very helpful!

We also booked Hollywood and Vine as our first "test" character meal on our May trip (it's in my first TR) and planned on cancelling the other character meals if she freaked. She loves the Little Einsteins so we figured it would be a good way to test out her reaction to characters. Apparently, we have created a monster as she is obsessed with meeting them all.

We are planning on bringing the stroller again with us on our next trip, but it's on it's last leg and will probably barely make it. It has served us well though!

Ew, I hate when you lose your comments, especially if you typed out a lot.

Dessert is very important to this family!

Yes, it was a fun way to get some unexpected pixie dust! We have done the same with unused FP tickets (to Toy Sotry) and it's always fun to pick out a family and see their reaction.

The Kaki Gori is flavored all the way through, or at least ours were. Maybe it's because we don't gobble it down in 2.5 seconds. I like that it's a yummy treat and not too filling. May can be really hot - I'll keep you posted when we go and let you know how bad it is!

Just got my picture fix. Boy have I missed seeing your little one's pictures! Those hugs just are too cute. What a wonderful breakfast and character experience. And that balloon - it IS huge!

Happy new year to you and yoru family! Aw, thanks! I like reliving it all through her facial expressions too. And tha balloon is so massive! I can only imagine how difficult it is for the castmembers who have to hold all of those balloons!

Yeah... I know. I'm sure he will be in flashbacks, especially since that's what a lot of the show is. I watched the marathon yesterday and I just couldn't watch that part again! We'll see, maybe there will be a way to revive him! Like, maybe all Emma has to do is kiss him, but she doesn't know it, because she doesn't believe the fairy tale stuff? Ugh I don't know!

And I haven't checked back yet so I don't know if you saw or not, but the link is in my signature! :goodvibes

Ooh, okay, I'll hop over to check out your TR after I post this update!

Our last park day was off to a magical start with the addition of a happy, floating, pink Mickey balloon. Our tummies were pleasantly full of Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit and delicious juice. The next stop on our list? Epcot.

Of course we had to stop off for a few more PP pics. We had to get some pictures with the new balloon? I mean, it’s just so Disney!

ry%3D400

However, as you can see, we had to hold the balloon off to the side a bit as it would have totally obscured my husband’s face.

ry%3D400

Of course, wouldn’t you know it, but the weather was much warmer this day. On our last park day. When we leave the next day. Of course.

Then the photographer asked us big people to step aside so she could take a picture of just our little girl. Yeah, she’s the cute one anyways.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Sorry about the messy hair. Try as I might, this girl has flyaway hair. And apparently her haircut was just a trim because it’s still insanely long in the pics. I have since come to the realization that she looks way cuter with her hair shorter. For some reason, it seems to stay in the ponytails better that way too. Go figure.

Now as you have probably gathered from reading about our other park days, we don’t seem to hit a lot of the rides while we are in the parks. Today was no different. And despite the fact that she just saw Mickey and Pluto at breakfast, she caught sight of the Epcot Character Spot and any other plans were scrapped. My husband wanted to try to ride Test Track one last time so I said I would take her in to meet her friends while he went on the ride. The only catch? I needed a little something to occupy me in line…..

ry%3D400

It’s never too early for a Mickey bar or a Mickey ice cream sandwich. You know my little girl agreed. Eating those yummy frozen treats was a fabulous way to help the wait in the line go by faster. I know I spied more than one envious look from other people waiting in line. Who can blame them? Frozen delicacies in the shape of a Mickey head are just divine.

Once we devoured every last morsel of the treats and I had wiped off the ring of chocolate around my little girl’s mouth, it was already time for us to meet Mickey. Get ready to see those crazy futuristic backgrounds again.

How did Mickey get over here so fast? And out of his Hawaiian shirt? He looks so formal here. I feel like he should be wearing a tee shirt, shorts and a camera slung around his neck with this background. Anyways, our little girl ran headlong into his arms. Seriously, not like we didn’t JUST see him.

ry%3D400

She’s too happy just being with Mickey that she couldn’t be bothered to do a matching pose.

ry%3D400

Maybe Mickey took a Segway over from the Polynesian.

ry%3D400

I love Mickey too and had to make my way into the photo.

ry%3D400

Oh, and remember some of those inappropriate hand placements of my daughter’s? Did you catch the one in that last photo? No, well, here’s a closer look just in case you missed it.

ry%3D400

Sigh, she can’t help it if that’s where her hand happens to fall when she’s trying to hug him.

Next up was Mickey’s dog, Pluto. Remember how insanely happy she was to see Pluto twice at breakfast? Well, that feeling did not subside one bit. He got another huge hug.

ry%3D400

Look at that face. You can just see the beams of happiness radiating from her face.

ry%3D400

And Pluto must have gotten the memo that this little girl is an inappropriate poser and decided he was safer if he got down to her level.

ry%3D400

She wasn’t ready to leave Pluto’s side just yet. She needed to show him some of her pins first. At that time, she still had a Pluto pin on her lanyard.

ry%3D400

At this point, my husband had made it back from his ride on Test Track. So we pulled our little princess away from Pluto and headed over to say hi to Minnie Mouse. This is the background that I don’t get. It doesn’t look like a space that Minnie would be in.

ry%3D400

Again, she was too busy hugging to strike her Minnie Mouse pose.

ry%3D400

Same hand placement as earlier, but somehow nowhere near as inappropriate.

ry%3D400

In this next picture, just ignore my crazy hair flip pose. I just wanted to show you how excited she was to see Donald. And seriously, for all those people that say you shouldn’t bring a kid under 5 years old or even a 3 year old….just look at the body language and the face on my little girl. I would not trade any of these Disney trips. Many priceless memories have been made.

ry%3D400

Can’t you just picture the squeal of “DONALD!” coming out of her?

ry%3D400

A little heart to heart talk.

ry%3D400

Followed by a super cute photo.

ry%3D400

Look how fluffy Donald is! He must have taken a bubble bath or something earlier.

ry%3D400

Then it was time for Goofy’s hug. Although it kinda looks like he just ate her head.

ry%3D400

Then she got a cute little moment with Goofy. He decided he wanted to dance a little with her. How sweet!

ry%3D400

They danced and twirled their way over to the picture spot.

ry%3D400
