We spent quite a bit of time over at the Animal Kingdom this morning, but didnt get much done in the way of rides and attractions. It was all about the characters once again, a common theme for our
Disney vacations it seems. We were definitely getting the most out of our photopass cd, which I had preordered. Which, if anyone else here has ordered it lately, have you noticed some new photos added in? Something like this
It was so weird to find photos of the various characters interspersed with our photos when you are going through your PP pics. I totally cant recall where we were headed at this point in the day, but we definitely got sidetracked. We came across this friendly doggie.
We said good-bye to Pluto and continued on our way. Our little one made herself comfy in the stroller with her little friends.
The sun was finally starting to make an appearance this morning. While the weather was definitely an improvement over the blizzards that were raging up north, it still wasnt as warm as we had hoped. I think it may have ranged from the 50-60s during the day, warmer if the sun came out.
We were told to roar like Simba, and apparently I was the only one to actually roar.
We didnt get far before we came across some new friends. Its like she has a sixth sense about these things. Last year, she could spot any playground on the horizon (they were everywhere with Flower and Garden Festival) and this year, it was characters. We caught sight of these characters
and there was barely a line. Of course the autograph book came out and our little one took off.
First up was Pooh bear.
Do you think she could get any closer? I love her facial expressions.
She is always in her element with the characters. Disney is her happy place.
Then we bounced over to say hi to Tigger.
And the hugs continued.
And the other trend that we noticed
..
that our little ones hands would end up in slightly inappropriate places on the characters. Just because she is so little, they would sometimes end up in funny positions. We definitely got a kick out of that, because we are immature like that.

We didnt get a chance to meet Eeyore that morning, I think he had to go get his tail reattached, so we headed back out into the park.
By this point, it was nice and warm out so my husband was no longer interested in the parks. He never feels like he is truly on vacation until he is in a pool. Of course, mention a pool and swimming to our little girl, and she is on board with the new plan. So we headed out of AK earlier than planned and back to the resort.
I didnt feel like swimming but it sure didnt take the rest of my family long to get ready. I need it to be a bit warmer still before I am willing to get in my bathing suit and a pool.
I dont know why exactly, but I love that picture. Maybe it has to do with how I can still tell that my little girl is excited with the little swimming tube around her. Or maybe it just immediately brings back the memory of her jumping around in anticipation of the pool. Either way, I love it.
Seriously, can you even handle this pose?
Our room happened to be pretty close to the quiet pool, but we wanted to check out the main pool. We werent sure what the weather would be like the rest of our vacation, so we wanted to take advantage of it.
She totally needed to have goggles as well since her daddy had goggles.
She was happy to spend the next hour paddling around the pool.
While my husband and little girl swam around, I figured I would go refill our mug before we had to go back to the room to get ready for dinner. POR really is a beautiful resort.
We really enjoyed our stay there, but we also had a rental car. The resort is very spread out and I am not sure I would have liked it quite so much if we had to rely only on Disney transportation. But with the rental car, it was a perfect fit this trip.
