Were there any Halloween activities at AKL last year?

We will be at the AKL during that time and was wondering if they offered anything in resort if you don't want to go to the MNSSHP that night?

We will be doing the MNSHP on another day and was hoping they offered something around the resort-trick or treating of some sort or special cookie decorating, anything.

I am planning on setting something special up for my children if they don't offer anything. I just don't want to plan something for them and then find out they have all kinds of things to do that my kids will want to go to instead.


I was thinking about setting up a little scavenger hunt for them with Gifts of a Lifetime.

Has anyone used them?

We are also planning on taking the Family Magic Tour at the MK-I have heard that this is kind of a little hunt for clues. Will I be overdoing it with scavenger hunts?

So, if you know what they offer at AKL on Halloween, I'd love to hear from you.

Don't know the ages of your children, but my little girl went to Simbas Clubhouse one night (for just an hour) while we ate at BOMAs. She had a great time - she colored with markers, played with the other kids (there were only about five other kids that night), watched movies. She got to pick her own dinner - hotdog, ff, choc milk. She's been asking to go back!!

You may want to check what they'll be doing that night at the Clubhouse.

We'll be doing our first visit for MNSSHP too - but we'll be there Oct 13-18.

DD is 4, DS is 6.

I know we probably wouldn't do Simba's because we would all want to be together that night. We always go all out on Halloween here at home and have a pretty good time. It is probably one of our favorite holidays. We were going to go to MNSSHP until I read a lot of reviews that said it is very crowded on Halloween. We are going to schedule it for another night and try to think of something to do at the resort instead.

I'm sure even if they don't have any big things scheduled at the Lodge, we'll think of something.

I'm glad to hear your child liked Simbas. We're going to probably have my MIL there for a few days so she always offers to babysit if we want to go out for a nice dinner or something.

We were at AKL last Halloween and they were doing some Halloween stuff, but we went to MNSSHP that night so I didn't make too much note of it. All I know is that as we left for the party, there were folks dressed up...I think guests...and it looked like they may have been either having a costume parade or trick or treating. There were also some awsome pumpkins decorated by CM's in the lobby...guests were invited to vote for thier favorite one. They had done an incredible job on them. We never received any sort of notice about any Halloween activities though so seeing all that as we left for the party kinda surprised me.

Ummm, I also think there are Halloween activities on the Boardwalk on Halloween night. That might be something fun to do. Zurgswife put together a DIS meet that night on the boardwalk so the DISer's could participate in the activities and have a DIS meet too. Unfortunately, my girls wanted to do the MNSSHP party that night so we didn't get to attend. You can ask zurgswife for details.
