Be honest with me!

Is the immigration line going to be longer than an hour?

We sat at the back of the plane, and the queue was really long but def under an hour. It does mean when you get through that you get your cases straight away as they've had time to get everything off the plane.

We were almost at the back of the plane in Oct and we queued for about an hour for immigration. It wasn't too bad though as any time we lost here we made up at collecting our luggage as it was all there ready and waiting for us

We sat 3rd from the back, and we definately didn't wait for an hour at immigration - the line disappeared really quickly! And, as everyone else has said, your cases are waiting for you!

We are in row 44, but by the time we've got the kids in the buggies and all the rest of it everyone will have overtaken us! I hope it's not that long! We've not been through immigration in MCO for about 7 years! :goodvibes

its one massive queue now

Yeah, I've heard that.

Any idea if it makes things better?

The queue is 'manned' so there are members of staff directing folk very swiftly to the next available officer. They actually get you ready just before the next desk opens so you can go right through as the other party moves on.

We hit it nicely last year. It was our first economy flight to MCO so I was expecting the worst, but we got through passport control in about 10 minutes and our bags all came off as we arrived at the carousel. From landing to ME was just under half an hour. It can happen :)

Thanks for the positive vibes, Lee.

I'm going to expect the worst, and make sure we all have a bottle of water and a 'comfort stop' before hitting the queue!

There are two ways to do it:

  1. Make a dash for it so you can get through as quickly as possible
  2. Take your time, let everyone else go ahead and just relax about the time

I think a lot of it is really timing and no matter where you sit on the plane, there are certain things you have no control over, like how many other international flights land at the same time as yours.

We were at the front front off the plane and it took us 45 mins as a big lufthansa flight had landed before us, so I wouldn't stress!!

We sat in those seats on the return journey and they were great, and the immigration queue was much longer at Manchester than Orlando!!!

Depends IMHO, as to how many planes are arriving around the time yours is.

There are toilets at the back of the queue so you can use them before you get in the queue. We had to make a quick exit to them with dd, just as we were nearing the front of the queue. I rushed her like mad for fear of losing our place :)

Worse!! I miss the furthest line on the right!!! We were an hour in December, and we weren't even right at the back of the plane. Definitely a change for the worse!

We always used to like getting those rows of 2 at the back, and we always managed to get off really quickly. If you have your bags ready as soon as the fasten seatbelt sign goes off and your ready to go as soon as everyone starts moving you'll be surprised by how many people you get in front off.

We werent at the back this time as we had a skycot but we were pretty far back (the last row that has a skycot), and with a 5month old in tow we got through immigration in less that 30mins :) And we were not the first ones off by a long shot.

Yes the row on the right used to be quicker but ive landed at times when all lines were full and thats taken forever! Atleast this way the queue is always steadily moving and even if your near the back it doesnt seem to take that long :)

I'm not sure how how much of an impact the length of time spent in immigration has on the amount of time that you spend in the airport. DH and DDs are US citizens so for years I used to go through the separate line. A few years ago one of the immigration guys told me that I could just go through the with the rest of the family, so that's what I now do. I can't really say that I've seen an awful lot of difference in the length of time that it's taken us to get out of the airport! :confused3
