I received an e-mail tonight confirming that DW and I will be among the people who will be part of the audience for the filming of the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade, featuring Regis Philbin and Kelly Rippa. We registered with the production company filming the parade and were lucky enough to be among those chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. The parade is filmed in four sessions over two days, and we'll be part of the early morning session on Dec. 2. I know it's gonna be crowded, but it sure sounds like fun.

Further instructions will be coming Nov. 28, but tonight's e-mail encourages participants to show plenty of smiles and energy because there will be camera teams roaming the streets "looking to capture those magical audience moments." Hmmm, I wonder just how much Disney gear I can plaster on myself and still be able to walk?

Just practice clapping for long periods. :) Be prepared for a lot of standing around waiting for them to be ready to film. If you have Billy the MC he is very entertaining while you wait. I had fun last year.

Sounds like fun. We want to be part of that someday but will have to wait until our kids can actually sit and behave for longer periods of time.

Here's hoping I make the cut...I sent in my email on Monday morning for that same time frame...early Friday morning. It would be so much fun...especially since I'll be solo this trip. There are no time constraints on me for a change...I can linger or hurry, whatever I choose to do. A perfect time to be a part of the parade taping.

To Parkhopper: Congratulations...it sounds like a lot of fun!

How did you know to apply? We are at WDW almost every December and think it would be so much fun to see and be a part of the parade. How did you know where to register? Is there an announcement somewhere? If you could share how it came about for you, I'd love to hear it!

ill be watching for you (even though i dont know what you look like) on christmas day when they play it. have fun

Congratulations! Don't forget to wear some lime green! :earboy2:

THe announcement is on the Passholders site....if you have an AP you can do it, otherwise I guess you just show up at the regular park hours. I'm hoping to hear from them that I made it.

We got the email stating we had been selected. I sent one back cancelling. DD is taking the SAT that morning. Maybe one of you will get our spot. Have fun!

Wish dd the best of luck!! Don't think she'll need it but it never hurts. I'm sure she'll do terrifically. But it's too bad you'll have to miss the taping.

Thanks for the info. I went to the site and then onto the production company's website and sent them an email. I'm probably too late, but it can't hurt to try.

I noticed you are from Central MA...that makes us neighbors..and we'll be at WDW the same time....

So is the park closed on that day to normal visitors and only you guys get in? I think I'm a little confused as to how this works. :confused3 Any clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jenn

Park is still open to everyone. The first part of the filming starts before the park opens. Just expect to see lots of people in the Main St. area. Allow extra time to get through the area.

No the park is not closed, in fact last year they sent notices to our rooms about the taping encouraging people to attend. They want as many people as possible to participate.
We went to the MK that day but then left because they tape the parade in sections so it takes a long time, and then there are parts of the lanes that are blocked off. Once you get around where they are taping your fine but it was just kind of annoying, plus there were set ups for the cameras, and lights etc so it takes away from the magic of the park (just my opinion).

I see you are from LEO-Minster!!! Just kidding....I know how to say it correctly!! So, are you planning on doing any of the many meets while there?? Hope so!

Thanks! It turns out that she will be involved in another taping for the parade. It occurs Sunday morning prior to opening hours. We have to be at Epcot at 4am. Whoa! She is very happy about this, so the fact that we will miss the other taping isn't bothering her a bit.

Congrats Park Hopper!

Quick question, since they are taping the parade over these two days, do they do anything live on Xmas day OR is it ALL pre-recorded on these days?

Just curious.

Can you tell me when you sent your request to them? I sent mine on Monday at 4:00 pm EST, just wondering how behind I was in sending it and if there is still a chance!

I just caught wind of the meet at Jellyrolls. We have reservations that night for the Candlelight Processional for the 8:15 performance. It's really not such a long walk to Jellyrolls from Epcot, so I'm hoping to convince my husband that an after dinner drink (or 2 or 3) would be just the right ending to our day. He is easily swayed, especially since Jellyrolls is one of our favorite spots. My son and daughter-in-law actually first met there. Their wedding pictures include a late night shot on the Boardwalk as a reminder of where it all started. Very sweet! Is the meet for any special time? It would be fun to meet.

We just can't win. First, it turned out that DD had to take the SAT on Dec 3rd. She didn't mind because she thought she was going to be in another taping this weekend. We just got word that the celebrity involved cancelled. They may reschedule, but the casting agent wasn't sure. This isn't going well!
