... at least we hope it'll be sunny.

Fly to San Francisco for a week, then fly down to LA for five days to see Disneyland and the Hollywood sights. All I can say is a big thank you to Air Miles and Priceline for allowing us to do this holiday without breaking the bank.

I'll say hello to Mickey for you all!

Regards

Rob

Hope you and your family have a wonderful time Rob.

Now, I'm sure you know this, but if you're going to be in LA try and get a day in Santa Monica and enjoy the beach, pier and the 3rd Street Promenade (shops, food, cinema) which is nice break from LA proper which is sprawling and a bit ugly. The Getty Museum is really something too.

I went to Alcatraz last time I was in SF and actually quiet enjoyed it - kids love the very noisy sealions that live on the dock where you get the boat over to the island.

Travel safe :)

Bye Rob

Have a great time. Love to hear all about it when you get back:wave:

Have a great time and hope you enjoy the restaurants that you do at DL :)

Another vote for Alcatraz, a fascinating tour! Remember to ride the tramcars, trolleys and metro! And have a sundae for me at Ghiradellis!:p :smooth:

Hope you and Jane have a wonderful time. I'll be interested to hear all about it when you get back.

Oh my, someone had to mention Ghiradelli's :) Yes, don't miss out the home of Ghiradelli's..

Rob,

Hope you and your family have a wonderful time:bounce: :Pinkbounc

You can give me some advice when you get back;)

I've already printed the money-off vouchers from their website!

I'll try and do a trip report when I get. Everything has got off to a good start: a friend has offered to give us a lift to the airport tomorrow, and I've used BA's nifty telephone check-in system to make sure I get the seats that we wanted (also means we don't need to be at the airport until 45 minutes before take-off).

Interested to know more about this Rob when you get back.

Safe travels.

Telephone check-in is available on all BA flights from 3.00pm of the day before travel. The main benefits are that you are assigned your seat numbers beforehand and you do not have to get to the airport until 45 minutes before your departure time. When you get to the airport you collect your boarding passes and check-in your luggage as normal. To be eligible for telephone check-in you must be either travelling in a premium cabin (First, Club, World Traveller Plus) or be a member of BA's Executive Club. The is also an online check-in facility via BA's website which does the same job.

More details at BA's website.

Regards

Rob

Rob,

Do you have time to post the Ghiradelli's website address please ?? Or do you have something more interesting to think about;)

Rob,
Have a great trip to the West coast. Hope to hear a few tips from you when you get back such as best restaurants, places to visit etc.

Ghiradelli Square in San Francisco has its own website here. Ghirardelli Chocolate also has its own website here. The weak willed are advised not to visit the second website - just the frontpage is enough to make you rush out to buy some chocolate...

:D

Loadsatime. We checked in yesterday by phone, so don't need to be at Heathrow until 45 minutes before our flight (which is at 1.30 this afternoon). As I only live 15 minutes drive away from Terminal 4, I though 'd squeeze in a few extra DIS posts...

Regards

Rob

All this talk of California certainly makes me want to be there.

Nice for you to have an easy morning at home before setting off. Say hello to the Golden Gate Bridge for me. Last time I was there the DH of a friend flew me over it in his private plane - now that was an experience!

Again - travel safe. And like the others here I'll look forward to hearing about your trip on your return.
