Hi, All! Well, I took advantage of the BCV promotion (which expires April 30) and bought 270 points at BCV! Although I didn't have DW completely convinced, she agreed because (to quote her) "this is one of those things you compromise on after 16 years of marriage". After a few trips, I'm sure she will be convinced.

Anyway, my guide, Julie Hughes, told me that the new incentive for BCV will be a $5 a point buyback program. Not quite as good as the old incentive, but still an incentive. We took the $5 a point incentive rather than the free stay (we just got back from WDW and decided that we'd rather take the $5 a point and have more flexibility in using our points for this year rather than take the free nights (with accompanying blackout periods and potential availability issues)).

Thanks to all of you for the information on this board - it really helped me to make my decision.

Hey StevieD, Iam also new here. We just bought Wilderness Lodge Villas in March (possibly the last to get them on new contract). Our incentive worked out well also. We took the $10/point buy back, as our use year is Sept. I too am quikly learning that there is a TON of good info here. Anyway, congrats on the purchase!

Hi there, can you please tell me what a point buyback is compared the incentive going on now? Will this start April 30th?Thank-you
Oh and Congrats on your purchase!!:Pinkbounc

Congratulations and welcome home!

As I understand it, after April 30 if you buy more than 150 points as a new member (I'm not sure this applies to add-ons), you can opt to sell back your 2002 points for $5 per point as an incentive. Given that points are being rented for about $10 per point, I'm not sure you would want to take this incentive.

Good Luck.

When we bought into WLV, they offered to buy back our first use years points, for $10/point. This program was titled "Magical Beginings". Since we bought 600 points in March, and our use year starts in September, we had 600 pts to use in 6 months. We sold them back for $6000. This worked out well, because our next trip was planned for September when we get 600 more points. This actually made the purchase price $65/point. I hope this explains it okay.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!

We are also new BCV members and our guide is also Julie Hughes. I found her wonderful to work with!! Thanks for the info on the changing incentive!

We bought from Julie Hughes in 1995 and she was great to work with back then. How much are the maintenance fees per point for BCV?

CONGRATULATIONS.......AND WELCOME HOME

Magicmom,
The maintenance fees are $3.7681 per point.

Thanks for all the "Welcome Homes"!

I think that is a pretty good deal with the $5 credit. Tell your wife she won't be sorry several years down the road when she looks back on all the great vacations and the fact you will probably still have something that you can sell for as much as you paid. That has been our experience in the past seven years. Welcome Home!!

:D Hi, neighbor!! We, too, just bought 350 pts at BCV and are soooooo excited!! I think we already have the next 5 years of vacations planned and are thinking . . . add-on?! We're hooked!
Welcome Home!!

Welcome Home Neighbor.
