We're moving! Recycled boxes?

I was looking for the plastic ones to rent, and a bunch of sites sell recycled cardboard boxes. Has anyone used either of them? (I'm not doing the liquor store box thing because those are too small. We're also on a tight deadline, so I don't have the time to chase down boxes at stores and such.)

No, but when we moved we sold ours on Craigslist. Someone bought them right away.

Kinkos! (Or FedEx Office, whatever the place is called nowadays. )

They are the perfect size. They usually have a few in the corner they have to break down.

Also, liquor stores have extra thick, sturdy cardboard boxes as they are used to transport bottles. They hate taking the time to break them down. They would be glad to have you take them off their hands.

I wish you would come get the stacks we get at our animal hospital! We get tons of shipments and have to break them down and out to the trash on trash day.

Try your local card store. Hallmark gets boxes in all the time and they are perfect for moving. I called when we were getting ready to pack and asked if they had any boxes. They kept a stack for me and the dumpster in the back was filled to the top.

Often you can find boxes for free on Craigslist. People move all the time.

Sam's club has some for about 35.00 that deliver to your door. Book stores are supposed to be a good place to look. We ended up buying some last minute from office max because we couldn't find any freebies.

Check your local school cafeterias. When I was getting ready to move I brought boxes home every day. I ended up with more than enough. They may be willing to hold them aside for you.

You could also try talking to the manager of an area department store. About 80% of their stock comes in boxes and sadly a lot of them get thrown away.

Last time we had to move ourselves we called Shopko (like Walmart) and they had 3 carts full, all broken down, waiting for us to pick up the next day.
