DH and I are planning a nice romantic trip for just the 2 of us in September 2009.

When you go just as a couple, where do you stay? What do you do? I've never been without the kids, so I'm not sure where to start now! :lmao:

Any romantic dining recommendations? :confused3

Well...We are doing the "Leave the Kids at Home" thing in about 12 days.

We booked a room at the Gf Royal PAlm. I got ADR's at NArcosee's, Citrico's, Le Cellier, And Tappan Edo.

Also set up a few character lunches and breakfasts.

We're wine drinkers, so I added the wine to the DDXP.

I think we are going to spend most of our time in Epcot...with a day in the MK and a half day at AK.

To be honest, we're looking forward to sleeping in all the way until 7am! :lmao:

I'm hoping for a nice relaxing time with my mate...Know what I mean?

Relaxing time would be fantastic!! We are also wanting to spend a majority of our time at Epcot. Really get to look at everything instead of chasing the kiddos. I want to be able to absorb everything, try different foods. All of that grown up Disney stuff!

Thanks for the restaraunt ideas. You guys have a great time and relax!! :woohoo:

Dh and I are going for our anniversary in Oct. Our first trip w/o the kids since our honeymoon 20 years ago! We are also planning on spending lots of time in Epcot. We are staying at the BWI, love that walk to Epcot. :thumbsup2

We have ADR's at Tutto Italia, Cali Grill, Boma, Teppon Edo and Spoodles. It will be nice to relax and enjoy the meals at OUR pace!

My DH wants to do the Richard Petty experience again so I think I may book a morning at a Spa.

I think it will be a whole different experience without the kids.

I HIGHLY suggest that the two of you schedule dinner at the Flying Fish on the boardwalk. That is assuming that you like seafood. The atmosphere is awesome, they are on the dining plan, and the food is amazing. Their menu is prepared daily and the chef prepares two daily specials based on what is market fresh each day. They never freeze their seafood, everything is purchased fresh on a daily basis, this is what accounts for their changing menu. AMAZING!

We just returned in June from an adult trip to the World and we also enjoyed the Wine addition to the dining plan. It made for some romantic dinners, we also were able to bring one back to the room with us.

We are making our trips a yearly adventure, so I figure I will be an expert on the adult trip to Disney by the time I'm ready to ponder the idea of having kids to take with me!

I also suggest Le Cellier and Artist Point as dining options. We even threw in some character meals, Chef Mickey and Tusker House are both great options!

We pre-purchased the photopass cd and were able to get tons of pics of the two of us without having to ask people to take them for us!

I can't wait til next summer to go back!

:flower3:

Two weeks from today we will be in Epcot without our 4 Disney kids. We are staying at Boardwalk Villas. We decided to stay here because of the ability to walk to Epcot. We plan on stumbling back at least one night. We have adr's at Cali Grill, Narcosse's, Kona Cafe, and breakfast in bed one morning.

We are also planning a trip to WDW w/o kids :cool1: :cool1: to celebrate our 25th anniversary next year. Our anniversary is 11-2 but we're going to wait until the week after Thanksgiving so we can take advantage of the Christmas decorations, etc. We've never been during the holidays and I think this is something we'll definitely enjoy especially w/o kids. I CAN'T WAIT. Hurry up next year already. Happy Planning everyone.

To celibrate (or forget about) my 40th b-day,DW and I are going for 4days at Poly with all the bells and whistles on the platinum plan. We are traveling with another couple and are doing golffor the guys/spas and horses for the girls. We're all going to V&A's and Cirque. Then a segway tour at Epcot. We know relaxing would be great but I think we'd rather cram all we can. Our down time IS walking up Main Street without holding one kid and fighting another from wanting to buy yet another souvenier, all the time trying to convince the other that Space Mountain really has very little to do with actual space travel.

Anyway, that's our plan, and we're sticking to it.

40th B-day?

That's what I'm doing to!!!! No better place on the planet to forget age than at disney.

TBH, I don;t feel much differnt physicly than I did whhen I was 25...But the grey hair tells a different story.

We went without kids in Sept 07 during free dining. Flying Fish was wonderful as was Le Cellier, Boatwrights.

POFQ was beautiful and laid back (and also a small resort so easy to get to bus and food court), with brick "streets" and street lamps, etc. (check out the resorts board picture thread!), plus POFQ is connected "sister resort" with POR, so was like getting two resorts in one. It's along the river, with riverboat to POR (or walk) and also boat to DTD was wonderful. The carriage ride at POR is very romantic also and I think it was only about $35 which wasn't too bad for disney. Boatwrights restaurant is at POR also. Music in the resorts (jazz) great too and the pools at both resorts were nice too. Pool bar CM's were wonderful. I think it's a perfect place for adults and romance...
