I got a call about an hour ago from Interval International sayingt that the Celebrity Resort LBV was closing for repairs during our stay, which begins ON FRIDAY 10/22! And they want to relocate us to Westgate Towers (YUCK!). Supposedly this is the only resort that can accomodate us.

What am I going to do?! I paid $284 for a seven night stay, and now I have to find someplace else to sleep!!! Nothing will be available for that price.

I tried to get on Disney property thru them, but no luck so far. I'm going to call back and ask for a supervisor... wish me luck!

If anyone has any alternatives, let me know:crazy:

OH no......I hope you will still be able to make it to Ohana's for dinner! Good luck :)

why ask for a supervisor?

I work in a large call center as an operations manager. I have come up through the ranks working as both an on line customer service rep, and as a team leader with 20 reps reporting to me (yes the supervisor)

I can assure you, that the person who answers your call has evry bit of empowerment to care for your needs that is available. Asking for a supervisor because you didnt get what you want is not the answer.

I sorta agree. When you call back, speak to the call center rep you get. If they still can't/won't help you, THEN ask for a supervisor. Stay polite and calm, you'll get farther that way than by yelling. Differant companies have differant polcies, sometimes the supervisors can do more than the front line reps. It never hurts to ask!

Good luck, this really stinks!

The cs rep told me there was nothing more she could do but could transfer me to her supervisor. Ultimately, that's who I dealt with, as the original rep decided to go home for the day (per her VM) and didn't return my call to tell me so!

To begin with, he wasn't much help either, but by 5pm EST (the horror started at 2pm) and a lot of suggestions on my part, I had a new reservation booked at the Wyndham Palms for Friday to Friday... in a 3 bedroom! Anyone want to join us, LOL?

Hookedondizney, looks like Ohana's is still a go!

Thanks everyone for the support... 2 days and counting!

maybe your good luck is a sign for good news for the Sox!!! I hope you have a great time!

anne60,

"maybe your good luck is a sign for good news for the Sox!!! I hope you have a great time!"

I guess you were right! I can't wait to watch them in the World Series, especially being in Disney while it's going on!!!

Go Sox!

how many in your party?

If only 4 - then I would see if they have availability at Marriott's Grande Vista.

or any of the marriotts - you are very unlikely to get on Disney's property - they only have DVC resorts.

also ask about Sheraton's Vistana - it has changed and uses II now.

there is also Calypso Cay Vacation Villa - very nice - almost new - only been opened a couple of years.

Last there is Blue Tree (again part of Westgate).

How did you get $284 for 7 nights? Is there another site that gives Skyauction type deals?

I think she is a member of II and getting their getaways.

II does have a public site

www.condodirect.com

but no auditions or great deals unless you are closer to your date.

the Wyndham Palms has some great reviews - hope you like it!

this is a much, much better resort than Celebrity.

and a 3-bedroom - I didn't even know that they had 3-bedrooms....

- so any member of the public can book through II?
-will these get cheaper?
-do I understand that it's not a bidding site, like RCI's Skyauction?
-can you add on all-inclusive options to the LTI resorts in the DR when you book through II? The "efficiency" cat don't have kitchens...

TIA!!
