Hi all,
I hope to work on a trip report this week and fill you in on on the details. We had fun. Would love to go again. Have gone every 2 years 3 times now, but DD will be in highschool 2 years from now, so that may limit our choices of times to go.
This was our first drive down. took I75 there, and I77/79 home. Both had their advantages and disadvantages.
Stayed for the second time at HIFS. It was all I remembered...great!! Had a look at the new Nickolodean suites...NICE!
Used a Fun in the Sun Pass...no problems with it. Great deal. $311 included 30 days (consecutive) admission to all parks, and Disney Quest, and a character breakfast. We did Donalds fo my birthday on the 24th.
Also for my b-day, we went to Cirque du Soleil. I can't possibly express to you how much I LOVED this show!! My DH got pulled up on stage and jumed over by the mountailn bike performer...hilarious!
Weather was great. One super cold day (45-50*). 1 day of rain and the rest was 68*-87*.
Glad to see some of the snow has melted since we left.

Sounds like you had a great time! Can you tell me where to buy the Fun in the Sun pass please?

Just wondering where I get the Fun in The Sun Pass? and I'm assuming that's in US funds, right?

Thanks for the info in advance!

Sounds like you had a great time. What were the differences with the nick suites compared to the old suites. My kids love this hotel.

Welcome home, Karen!

We are taking the I 75 down in just a few days! Did you have any problems with road construction, anywhere?

We are also going to Donald's ~ have an 8am ps, with the park opening at 9am that day. This will be my first character meal and was wondering what you thought of this one.

Glad to hear that you had a great time!

Welcome back!Sounds like you had a great time.

I bought the Fun in the sun pass from Paramount International Travel. Had heard about them on these boards and on Mouse savers as well. The $311 was in USD. They are available until May 31 this year. the tel # is 407-841-0134. They have all kinds of other passes as well, and many of them include a voucher for a character breakfast.
We encountered no problems with road construction on I75. There were some spots with construction, but didn't slow is down at all. We left Barrie at midnight...stopped in Byron GA at 5:30 pm (2 hours from border). It was about 5 hours driving time to HIFS (Lake Buena Vista) the next day. We used Dave Hunters Along I75...very helpful, and very accurrate as far as the radar traps. Donalds Breakfastasauras....
I liked this character breakfast. There was a lot of good food. The servers joke around a bit with you. They sang Happy Birthday to me! I would go back.
The Nick suites are the same layout, just look so much newer! Although the HIFS is only 4 years old, it is starting to show wear, and I didn't notice it so much until I went into a brand new room. The carpet is brighter, as well as the curtains. The room we looked in had Jimmy Neutron in the kids room, and the starfish guy on the hall way wall before the kids room. The kitchen table is bigger too. Apparently there will be extinsive reno's outside, including slides at the pools. We liked th night time activities too, but kareoke not starting until 9pm was a bit late. There is a priority club check in area that I didnt notice before...i think it might be new.
