Came into Orlando this morning...

The Magic Express seemed overburdened and were using Mears buses. It is stupid that you have to wait in line to check in, get another piece of paper to get in line for the bus.

Interesting - by reading this board you'd think the world was booking Pop, yet the line for ME was smaller.

Luck!! We got exactly the room we wanted...football building, non smoking, and the person at All Star Sports was really nice!! We go on the balcolny, and the baseball pool is right there to our right. Love the theming of Baseball...at night it looks like a baseball park(the lights look like stadium lights).

Anywho...
Truth: First on first off with the buses, Music get the short end of the stick.

Hmmmm, I read a snack list somewhere here, and it said items under $4.00...but we were told nothing with meat or sandwiches. So no grilled cheese sanwiches either at $3.49. But the carrot cake and cheesecake in the food court (ASSP) were good.

Went to MGM and had Fantasmic Dinner at Mama Melrose.
The chicken Parmisan was good, I had the steak--- the cheese butter with it gave it a nice flavor, the asparagus I didn't like too well.

My DD wanted the Spumoni from the kids menu though the waiter said she could have any dessert. I had Tiramisu---FANTASTIC. DH had the cheesecake(Hazelnut....liked it as well) Mama Melsrose gets thumbs up....can't wait for Kona and Chefs de France tomorrow.

Observations...
TS restaurants are BOOKED....but Mama didn't seem too packed.
Crowds are reasonable, but fast passes closed in afternoon...standby is a walk through except RR coaster.

It RAINED, we were SOAKED...DD started crying and we had to leave because of the lightning. No Fantasmic for us. We stood in pouring rain waiting for the All Star buses...yep, you really feel like low class watching the higher priced resort buses coming 3 to 1. All Satrs shared one bus, it was brutal. Tomorrow will be better!!! :Pinkbounc

Annette  - Thanks so much for the GREAT report. :Pinkbounc Tomorrow will be better, but today didn't sound that bad when you're sitting at a desk in Illinois. :rotfl2: Have a great time and PD for no mo rain. pixiedust:

Warning, the food in the food court in ASSP is substandard for the price. A tuna sandwich, a childog and a chocolate sundae as well as a refillable mug put us back $35.00 Ack. Try to eat in the parks!!

Started Sunday with breakfast at Bomas....Tonga Toast and Kona coffee! Great start! Recoginized the server as the guy would waited on us last year!!
Took monorail to Epcot, immediately rode Soarin...best effect is in ROW one...no feet dangling in your view. Nice use of IMAX...rode it twice. Did Journey into Imagination, alas I love Eric Idle, but all I think is Monty Python.
It was hot, we were tired from the heat...felt like breathing water!!!

Ran back to All Stars, took a nap then jumped into the baseball pool. Dryed off and went to EPCOT...

Ate at Chefs de France. DD did NOT want the kids selection so we paid OOP for the mac and Guyere cheese. I had the pork chop with mushrooms and the chosen wine with it. Excellent. DH had the tuna tartar(?) dish...said it didn't even taste like eating fish..he ate the whole thing.

He had the three flavor sorbets, and DD had the Creme Brulee... me...nothing, I was starting to feel like I should start an eating disorder :smooth:

went to Japan and shopped a bit then walked out of the park and caught the monorail back to MK.

Crammed into the park and watched Wishes...Excellent...I felt a tear weling up!!

Did Big Thunder in the dark--that was different. Also did Pirates...great with Jack Sparrow in !!! I was a bit crowded so we pushed back to the buses.

Okay--todays rants:

Whats up with housekeeping at out hotel? The maid just put new towels in a bag and hung them on our doorknow. Had she made up our room she would have found a tip! Too bad, I should put it back in our wallet.
I hate parants who feel they are doing their babies and toddlers a FAVOR by keeping them in the park till midnight and later for extra hours.. The kids were crying sleeping in strollers..I saw a toddler girl crawl to the floor on a busy Disney bus and fall asleep with a packed standing crowd on board. Okay bad parents if you want to see Disney hire a babysitter geez take the kids to the park at better hours.

Tomorrow Disney Boot Camp continues...DH wants us up at 6 am to catch bus for Breakfastsaurus..I just want to ride Everest and head to Typhoon Lagoon!!!!

Catch you tommorow

Annette

Thanks for the up-to-day trip report. We leave in 2 1/2 days and I sure hope the crowds die down soon. Here's hopin' for cool breezes and no waits. pixiedust:

Did you make it to the water park,

Can you describe Tiramisu for me. This is the 2nd time I heard of this desert and I am wondering what it is.
