We're here - crowd pictures included - UPDATED 5/6 in first post

Thanks for the pics! I love live updates when people are there now. I'm getting antsy for our trip!

I love the pictures of small to almost no crowds, but 95? Um, I think of living on the sun. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Ok, I am not going in the kitchen. This is why we are currently going in November.

Late May will be more crowded, but I am praying that the crowds are as light as you are enjoying.

When touringplans.com underestimated the crowd level in March or April, people were furious.

If the Unofficial Guide / touringplans.com folks overestimate, the complaints will be fewer are far less severe.

I hope the estimates are cautious and overestimating.

People should also keep in mind that the touringplans crowd numbers aren't really measuring how many bodies are walking around the parks. More precisely, the number for any given day represents the estimated peak wait time at the headliner attractions at MK - Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and predictions for other parks are an approximation. By the site's own definition, it is intended to be a "worst case scenario" for wait times at these attractions. Even though the crowds at MK didn't seem to be exceptional in these pictures, that isn't to say that the longest wait time at one of these attractions at some point in the day wasn't at an 8 or 9 level, and the OP had the foresight to avoid those rides at peak times. It would probably help to remember that the numbers are indeed a worst case scenario involving a few very popular rides at a specific point in the day and are not meant to be a general predictor of what things will be like all day long in terms of crowds.

I will be arriving on a Friday, the 15th to be exact, and I am SURE it will be MORE crowded than what you had.:headache:Weekends are ALWAYS crowded but that is the ONLY time I can go.:confused3

Thanks for the pics!

Leaving in "7 mores sleeps"!!

Will be in MK on 5-15-09.:woohoo:

Oh and we went to customer relations at the end of the day and they gave us free 1 day park hopper passes just for sticking it out through the day with all the closed rides and chaos!
Surely you didn't hold Disney responsible for the earthquake! :sad2:

I have this problem when I am either at work or on our company VPN. Also, this happens with different browsers as well. If you are using firefox, try IE.

I use Firefox and see pics fine at home. I avoid IE like the plague. Prolly has to do with using a work computer?

Thats what we thought but when we went 1st week of Dec 2007 it was between 85 and 90 everyday and humid as heck. The night we went to DHS for Osborne Lights you could see the snow high in the sky but it melted before it got close to us. That night it was still 85 at 8pm

Oh well, we are trying it again this year. We will probably need scaves and mittens

Thanks for the pic's!!!!!:thumbsup2 I'm dreaming of my next trip to disney, hopefully this year!!! Have a great time!!

Looks like the hot season is arriving, so not too many locals right now. As soon as schools start letting out in a few weeks things will oh so change.

Thanks for the post and the pix! We'll be there next week with 2 little kids on our first trip, and I'm trying to finalize our touring plans. I was freaking out with the 8/9s on touringplans.com, and I feel so much better now. :)

Yes. I believe your issue is your work network. They must be blocking sites like photobucket.

I have swithed from firefox back to IE 8. The reason for this is that firefox is now hinged to the internet setting for the Windows Operating SYSTEM. To keep things clean, I use a program called CCleaner. It cleans up all of your cookies amoung other things. The other browser I am testing at the moment is Safari 4 beta. It's good as well.

Wow, that is downright crazy. Hopefully, this was a one of week. Recently we had a week of crazy heat in RI, but we are back to normal spring temps/rain.

85 is bad, but I can tolerate it. Even 90 is ok. It's the 95 with tripple H. Hazy, Hot and Humid.

These pictures have me sooooo excited. We (DH, DD7, Me) are arriving at WDW on this coming monday (5/11). I don't mind crouds, but DH is not too thrilled with them. If these pictures are any indication of next weeks crouds - we're sooo set!!!
Thank you!:cool1:

O my goodness no!!! When we were in line for Space Mountain, it just happened to shut down as we got to the cue to enter the building. We struck up a conversation with the CM's there (who were extremely funny about the whole situation--which probably made the wait seem less painful). Anyway, they (the CM's) told us to go to customer relations at the end of the day and we would be given a one day pass to come back. I never would have thought of that on my own!!!! We were very pleasant about the whole thing and just chalked it up to an experience to remember--we had no intention on getting free tickets. Besides, my kids got to experience an earthquake :scared: and Disney :) on the same trip and since no one was hurt it was all well and good!!!
