Hello DISers! This is my second ever pre-trip report! You can see my first here: Is he going to make us all do the hula?

Now, this pre-trip report is about a whole lot of fun and a BIG SECRET! Surely, you’ve noticed the title of the post. 1999, you say? What, are you going to throw back and act like you’re in college? No no! :lmao:

Here’s the story: We are four moms who have four kids who were all born in 1999! If you’re good at math (or even if you had to use the calculator!) you’ll know that they all turn THIRTEEN this year! We have decided to do a special Mom/TEENAGER trip with them. The only thing is, THEY DON’T KNOW!

In this trip report I’m going to tell you a little about what we’re going to do during our visit. I’m also going to tell you all about how we plan on getting the kids there and what will happen during the big reveal! Just for fun, I’ll give you some background on all of us.

Because of the secrecy, there won’t be any pictures. Sorry! I’ll also be using fictitious names! Aliases are fun! ;) Let’s see if I can do this without slipping up!

So, welcome aboard!

Introduction

Sounds fun! We're going in November too! Confused though? Are you going in November or January? Your title says January, but your link says November. :scratchin

I’m Tiffany, mom to 3 gorgeous kiddos. Scott is 13, Kate is 5 and Sophie is 19 months. We are going on a trip to Disney World as a family in November but this trip is about special mom & teen bonding time. This is Scott and I, with Kate and Sophie, last September:

Others joining us on this trip are:

Alexis (mom) & Cayden (teen)
Carmen (mom) & Carolyn (teen)
Tracy (mom) & Tim (teen)

So it’s the four moms, three teenage boys and a teenage girl!

We have two Royal Rooms booked at Port Orleans Riverside. Even though we are traveling with teenage boys, we think the rooms are done in an elegant enough way that the boys won’t feel that they’re being princessed to death. Besides, they’ll be so excited to be in Disney World that they won’t care where they have to sleep! The moms will get to enjoy the pretty rooms!

We are all arriving Thursday, January 10th and leaving Sunday, January 13th, so we will have three nights. Park days will vary depending on flight times. Scott and I are flying in from New York. The rest of the gang is flying from New Orleans!

I have so much more that I want to get in to but I think it’s better under separate topics!

I've been neglecting this Pre-Trip report unintentionally. I just keeping thinking "oh i'll get to it tomorrow"! Oops!

Planning is hard when you're trying to keep it a secret from nosey rosey teenagers and you live so far apart! Alexis and I talk regularly and try to make decisions!

Their flights have been ASTRONOMICAL so we haven't booked anything from New Orleans yet.

I have Scott and I booked on Delta out of JFK to head down to Orlando. I would have much preferred to fly out of Islip but the flight out of JFK was $106 and the flight out of Islip was $277. No brainer, even with additional travel time. We'll take the train, so no parking expense.

I'm watching the New Orleans flights like a hawk so that they can all book ASAP.

We have our theme and we are going to make hoodies for everyone in our party.

I think Alexis found another mom/teen combo who wants to go but we would like to find yet ANOTHER so she doesn't have to eat the whole room cost by herself. But who... We can't think of anyone right now.

The Hoodies sound like an excellent idea! Will you post pictures when they're done? I love anything that's homemade/DIY Disney!

As of this morning, Scott and I are officially registered for the Family Fun 5K! This was the whole reason I planned this trip! It was my motivation to get healthier. I started running in June and told Scott that if he ran with me there would be a special reward in it, just for us! I successfully completed my first official 5K on 10/7 and Scott is very active on the Cross Country team at his school. Now we get to run through Epcot!! :cool1::cheer2:

Come on Southwest! You can do it! Drop that airfare! :cheer2:
