Well, after spending much time on here reading everything I could get my hands on (including some of the disappointments with increase in crowds during this past week) we decided to bite the bullet and book. Two-day park hopper (DL starting park) on July 13th & 15th. Yeah, we'll be a month into the June 15th "lifting of restrictions" so I'm not getting my hopes up too much and am going to be ready for anything and everything. In reading people's experience this past week, sounds like the key thing to do is, "keep expectations reasonable". I believe that those initial accounts from opening day/week showing nearly empty areas in the the park and no crowds, etc., got everyone super excited. I'm just happy to be able to go at this point. We've got a 2.5 year old and so we would keep our expectations reasonable even during normal times. I get the feeling she'll be more thrilled to see the toys in the Main Street shops than anything else. Now, on to securing the hotel room!

We are going June 27-29 and I have similar feelings about it. I am trying to have low expectations because it's after June 15. But what I DO know is that I will be at Disneyland. Frankly, at this point, that's all I need. We will go on at least some rides, we will eat delicious food, we will see Avenger's Campus, and we will be able to just be there and experience the Disney magic. That is my expectation, and that is all I need.

I can't tell you how excited we are to finally go on a real vacation...we have 2 years of built up wanderlust just wanting to break free. 2 nights at The Grand, a nice day at CA, and then flying out for a good amount of time at WDW.

So many canceled vacation plans (over and over and over...) on top of all of the stuff that has been going on the past year and a half...

No really, we are all so excited and champing at the bit; almost to the point of bursting into tears as it gets closer!

So even if the parks are more crowded than we might have wanted (we hope they aren't), we will be smiling Mickey ear to Mickey ear, with the silliest grin you ever did see!

Cheers to all of the others that are being able to finally get out and about this summer!

Glad to hear we're all in the same place mentally/emotionally. For us, the trip begins the minute our car pulls outta our driveway, even if it takes another 45 or so minutes, maybe an hour, before we're on I-5! As a kid, I-5 meant one thing and one thing only: we were going to Disneyland. I'm already shopping for some mickey/disney themed stickers to plaster on our car for the drive....I can't believe I'm even saying that .

We just booked our trip too! My original plan was to wait until things got more open/back to normal for DL as I didn't want to pay $$$$ for a diminished experience. We were planning to do WDW this year and then DL next. However, here I am going to DL July! Keeping expectations low.

as soon as disneyland allows out of state guests we'll be there! Going to WDW for 10 days in October for sure though!

Since being vaccinated, we've caught the travel bug and have several trips to California scheduled- hoping one of them will work out to go to Anaheim!

I know what you mean...a lot of us are ready to get out and DO things. If I had to guess, I would say that California's June 15 "reopening" will be when the out-of-state floodgates will open, based on what I have seen and read. I've been known to be wrong, but I'd be willing to wager some $$$ on it. Another nice thing is that on June 15, California will *finally* align themselves with the *current* CDC mask guidance. ;)

I'm hopeful for guidance soon from the theme parks how they will handle the updates from the state. If it goes as many expect, then it'll be very nice reward for those oos who have had the integrity and patience to wait until they're green lit to go.

Fingers crossed!

I've always trusted that an organization like Disney "knows what it's doing." That even if there might be a few days of growing pains between each stage, that they will balance out what they choose to open/loosen restrictions on with the crowd size🤞.

yeah- I’ve already been to California for vacation twice during covid since being vaccinated (it has been super cheap to travel to California this spring) and will be there in June and July regardless - so it won’t be hard to detour to Anaheim once the rules allow.

My daughter and son-in-law have just decided to move to LA, and signed a lease on an apartment in West Hollywood, to be occupied probably around June 20-23rd. We've offered to fly down (from Seattle) with their cat and help them move in. Guess what I've been doing? After insisting to my husband and family that I'd "definitely wait a year for things to calm down and go back to normal" I'm researching tickets, hotels, etc. Just for a *taste* of Disney! Will it happen? I don't know. Stay tuned! :hippie:
