We're going to the Poly for Xmas!!!

Yup...a complete surprise today. The kids do not know yet. We leave on 12/25 - 12/30!! Took advantage of the AP program. We're not telling the kids until we leave for the airport on xmas day.....whohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted on another thread after you, but just wanted to say it again that we'll be at Poly GV from 12/25-1/1 too! Hopefully we'll run into some of you guys! Fantasia, our rate at the Poly is about $260/night (inc. tax), $1800 and change for the week.

Thanks for the info! I'll check the other board! Maybe my "wish" will come true!! I want to treat my parents to WDW this Christmas and I wasn't so sure if I can afford it during Christamas and also to pay an extra adult in the room is breaking me. Thanks!

Fantasia..that's the rate I got as well. Good room rate considering it's much more than that for rack.

Justthat...are you flying? I'm not having luck on a good airline tickets. I was kinda sticker shocked when it was over 500 bucks a person to fly on xmas day. I guess we'll wait it out for a better rate. We could drive but I don't want to drive on xmas eve. It takes 16-18 hours according to mapquest.

Yes, we're flying kelscross. We got a pretty good fare on Independence Air, 2 tickets were $196/person/rt and the other 2 were $216/person/rt. When I tried to book all 4 tickets at once they were all going to be $216, so I broke up the reservation and was able to get I guess the last 2 $196 seats then had to buy the other 2 at the higher price. I booked the airfare about 3 weeks ago, before we even had a room, cause I saw it was cheap.

Normally for us, it's about $174 from DC National to Orlando, leaving out of an airport 10 minutes from our house, accessible by the metrorail. On Christmas we have to drive to Dulles airport, which is about 40 minutes away, and pay for parking, but the fares out of National were just way too much.

Not sure where in Ohio you guys are, but if you're near Southwest download Ding cause that might have something. Right now all the fares I've seen stop 11/17, but I'm guessing the next round will be out soon. Good luck in getting a good rate!

500 pp!! Yikes! Same here we could drive, but it will take us about 21 hours to get there! My parents are old and they can't drive not on the unfamiliar freeway. And my children are too young to drive! And hate to be the sole driver. Thanks for sharing the info!

We will be at the Poly from 12/17-12/25. You can have our room after we leave. I booked the flight home on Christmas day hoping travel would be slow that day, we are not used to manuvering airports and DS has autism.
