It's a definite go. We purchased our Airline Tickets so there's no changing of dates or minds. We're going to Disneyland in November! 
We've been watching the Alaska Airlines website for months waiting for the prices to drop, and last weekend, they finally did. We saved $650.00 on our 8 tickets!
We haven't been to DLR since 2001 and I am so looking forward to going back. Part of our family went to WDW in 2005, and while we enjoyed ourselves, there's just something about DL that feels like home. Probably because we took our kids there numerous times while they were growing up.
This trip, our daughter's family is going with us and our son's family isn't, because he just started working at Boeing and can't get the time off. I sure would like to take our Grandson, but he won't go anywhere without his Daddy for very long. We try to do Disney every other year, so maybe next time.
We're going from Nov. 10 - Nov 17. We tried to set up our vacation for a time when we thought it wouldn't be too crowded, yet most of the Christmas decorations are up. We went to WDW during this week and it worked well,
(10-min. waiting lines) but California is different because so many locals visit the parks. In fact, the only busy day at WDW was the last Saturday we were there because the Thanksgiving crowds arrived that weekend. Keeping our fingers crossed that our strategy works in California.
We're staying at the Desert Inn & Suites. I've read mixed reviews about this hotel, but we like the location and we also like being able to get adjoining rooms. My DH & I, along with 2 of our other sons, are getting the C2 - Family Parlor Suite which is basically 2 regular rooms with a doorway between them and a living room. Our daughter is getting the A - Family Suite. We've stayed at the Fairfield, HOJOs, and what used to be called the Saga Inn, during our past vacations. While HOJOs was our favorite...it was quite a trek for this Grandma after a day at the park.
Our itenerary has us doing the Disney parks 5 days, with 1 day at Knott's Berry Farm followed by dinner at Medieval Times which is right down the street from Knott's. We've always wanted to do this and the timing is perfect. Knott's closes at 6:00 during the week and the dinner show is at 7:00.
We are also going to Universal one day. I'm looking forward to the Tram tour. Florida doesn't have this and I really missed it.
When we went to WDW, I kept a journal then wrote a Trip Report. It's so much fun to go back and read about that vacation now, that I think I'll do the same with this one. This time, though, I don't think I'll have anything in the report about getting lost on the freeways in California like Florida.
We've been to DL so many times, that we know our way around almost as well as we do here in the Seattle area.
Of course, I'm driving my DH crazy with all my planning. He just doesn't seem to understand that the planning is half the fun for me. It would be unbearable to wait for November if I couldn't post on message boards and visit the DL website at least a thousand times before we actually leave for California.
Oh Gosh...look at the time. Gotta get ready for work...darn it anyway. Oh well...gotta earn those bucks so we can have a good time when we visit Mickey.

Continental breakfast is bare bones, so you might want to eat breakfast out (Denny's is right next door, Millie's & Mimi's are close by too) or bring some extra stuff to eat in your room. Anyway, for the price and super close location, I think you'll be happy.
