We're finally going to Disneyland!

Bought our airfare today for our 1st Disneyland trip. Going April vacation so crowds will be thick, but we've done WDW every July for 7 years, so I think we can handle it.

Did you pick a place to stay? We did one night last minute and stayed off property-it was right next door and we looked into the MK.

A little to "urban" looking around there but is what it is. Once inside it's hidden pretty well.

This is no zoom so it looked a bit closer in person. But just nice to know most rooms are nearby if you check the map. The onsite resorts looked very nice if available.

You will find many individual attractions are better than at WDW. Have fun.

We went this week in 2014 and I didn't thing the crowds were too bad. WDW is far worse this week, crowd-wise. You'll have a great time.

We just bought our airfare on Sunday, also going April break week! DH and I have each been to DL separately and DD has never been, so this is our first family trip. I am so excited! We're also doing a couple of nights in LA and a couple of nights in San Diego. Still hashing out which days we'll be where, but 3 nights at DL for sure somewhere within the week.

I know on site isn't necessary, but I want the quintessential Disney experience and that seems like our best bet.

Awesome! We are staying at the DLH as well for our first trip! As you mentioned, I know you dont need to stay at one of the on site hotels but we wanted our kids first trip to be something special, also this is our first real family trip. Plus the pools are awesome!
