we're DRIVING? With 2 KIDS UNDER 2?! WDW or INSANITY here we COME (INSANITY)

Great update!! Your babies are ADORABLE!! And your DH sounds like such a great guy! (even though he's on a "right" streak ;) ). Can't wait to read more!!

DMM, this is the funniest and most magical report ever! I have had so much fun reading it.

We are considering driving from the Peoria IL area next April. We have always flown. I hope we can do it. I cannot believe you did not immediately go to bed when you got to POP!

Your kids are adorable. You have such a great family. Please keep typing!!

Now laundry... :guilty:

Question: is the pixie dust hard to clean out of the car? I love the idea, but I am scared that it will be so hard to get out!!

And what did you use? Glitter?

Pixie dust was glitter :) We cleaned it all out with a vacuum!! and by we you all know by now that i mean DH with me watching!! "ummm Sal, you missed a sparkly spot!!"
-------

Thanks everyone for the kind words!!! we had never driven before either, but it was pretty easy in the end! just looong!!AND if you can find a way to magically fly over Georgia, then it's the greatest trip ever :teeth:

------------

DMM,
Welcome back!! Your TR is like a great novel...I don't want to stop reading...and the World is still ahead :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi Michelle,

How cool is it to find yourself in someone else's trip report?? Thank you! Now if I could get over the monster cold we got on our trip I could find the energy to post my own. and you too, get a starring role!

By the way, we would have loved to catch those teens for you, DH is big and scary and would have gotten at least an apology from them.

OT:
And to the mother of the boy who stood in front of DH on the bus (he was in his power chair, behaving himself, DH I mean, lol) and watched as he coughed repeatedly into DH's face and never once suggested he cover his mouth, or apologize, Thanks for the nasty cold and bronchitis. It helps so much when someone is immune deficient..aarrgghh. I know it was NOT a disser!!

And now back to your usual funny, inventive and sweet host, DMM

Lurking lurker here, hoping for a new installment!

Please, post something soon! My girls are only having "quiet time" (which would be playing in their room LOUDLY) for another 30 minutes!

Awww sorry i haven't posted an anstallment today!!!! i've been crazy busy with my own teo little monsters!!!

------

TinkelGee, soory your DH came home sick!!

Hi everyone. I should be back to posting more of the trippie by monday. My uncle was found shot to death in his home last night and we're dealing with that right now  He was a police officer off duty at the time, so we are all thinking it may be linked.
:sad1:
So sorry to hear this. I was just enjoying your report and then saw this sad family incident.

DMM:

Enjoying reading your trip report. It's really unbelievable all the stuff your family went through just getting on the road. :rotfl:

Really sorry to hear about your uncle too. That sounds devastating. :sad2: My deepest condolences to you and your family. Was he a local police officer? I know I haven't heard anything in the news around here, so I thought maybe he was from another city?

Are you my twin sister? :confused3 :thumbsup2 Many of your antics are stuff that I also pulled/pull on DH. DH tells me there is never a dull day with me. When people say they get bored DH just laughs and say he is not bored but waiting for me to pull another stunt. :lmao: I would be the one supervising DH vacuuming the car. He would say, "Do you want to do it?" "No, I just want you to do a good job!" :rotfl:

Hey DMM! You are hilarious! I already knew that of course, but your trip report is certainly a great way to pass my afternoon. Can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

DMM,
If I may ask, why POP and not ASMO or ASMU? I ask b/c we are trying to decide btw ASMO or POP.

Great report, I'm laughing the whole time. Looking forward to the next installment and pictures! So sorry to hear about your uncle, though. :grouphug:

Hi everyone! just a quick driveby to answer a question:

POP Review since someone asked WHY POP?!
POP POP POP because we LOVE it!!1 we've done all the all stars and all the mods (dh has not done CBR) AND some deluxes and yet something about the POP hooked us!! we were well on our way to staying EVERYWHERE in the WORLD, but one stay at POP and BOOMBAMBOOM we loved it!!

The atmosphere SCREAMS PAAARRRTTTYYY party:
the music makes you boogie all the way to your room (unless your my DH who get lost verrry easily and in the end is in no mood to boogie ;) )The Hustle and the TWIST the CMs get down too makes you want to jump in and join them (ohh yes i have!!!).

The food court is delicious and super clean!
The POP jets are a fave for my kids!!!
The CMs truly believe in the MAGIC :wizard: pixiedust:

There isn't anything BAD i can say about POP we truly love it there!!!

  :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:

------------

We had MANY towel animals EVERY night!! the Mousekeeper even made them TALK!!! (little pieces of paper coming out of their mouths!!)
She used some of our halloween decorations to decorate the room!!! :woohoo:
She did a FABULOUS time cleaning AND would leave us notes on the poster board we made her for tips!!
(pice of posterboard with a clothespin on it taped to the side of the TV stand that faces the window!! we would clip our tip to it every day ($5) and write her little notes!!)
--------
The guy that worked in the foodcourt recognized us EVERY DAY!!!!! (is this a good thing???)
---------

If that's not enough read this!!

My DS had lost his stuffed Tigger one night in the food court (probably through it out of the stroller) He was small and very loved! haha!! i went and reported it to the FD just in case someone would have turned it in!! (he was VERRRRy loved as i said before so i couldn't imagine anyone wanting him).

Well the last night of our trip we got back from the MK (MNSSHP) and there on the bed was a NEW tigger!!! with a little card....sooooo cute and sooo perfect!!! and sooo Totally POP!!

~POPper for life!!~

Awesome DMM. I'm hooked too.

We like staying at POP too!

Regarding those Tennessee roads... Yep, they are a blast to drive! Did you go through Nashville or Knoxville?

You have sold me on POP!!!! The Tigger story melted my heart. Shades of Green in April is for my DH and Pop in 2008 HERE WE COME!!

We went through Nashville :)
-------
Alright alll i have a teeny break right now, while the kids are sitting here nicely!! but i don't think it will last long!
-------
Most likely no update tomorrow as we are going to my uncles wake ::yes::
-------

Morning before MK

No remeber there was no alarm clocks b/c we wanted to sleep in right???

WELLLL the am wakes up with

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  It's DS standing STRAIGHT up in the pack n play and whining. not crying...whining and looking us straight in the eye with a smile!! :sad2: i look at the clock and it's 6AM!!!! which means 5am Chicago time!! sooo the drive did not even get to this kid!!! he wants WDW and he wants it NOOOOWWW!!

So DH gets him up and starts the bath.

DD however is lying sideways in bed snoring softly!! i decide to let her be and if worse comes to worse she can take a bath at night!!

I head out to get some coffee for DH and some sprite for me!! (i'm a soda drinker int he am!! wierd!)

The POP is already bustling with activity, but it's mainly men and women carrying about 5 or 6 mugs a piece!!! :scared1: looks like everyone is getting breakfast for the crew!!

After getting in and getting what we need i take a pit stop at the Concierge desk just to see how long they think a dinner at Ohana should take and who has EMH and what not. Their answers are EVERYTHING i had gotten fromthe DIS so so far so good :teeth:

I get back to the room and DH is soaked from head to toe and DS is on the bed naked!
ME:

ummm did you take a bath with him??

DH:

This kid is crazzzy!!

ME:
:rotfl: he loves the water, but i never get SOAKED!!!

DH:

yes, i know you are perfect!

ME:

mhmmm... i know ;)

SO i take over and DS is dressed in no time, and he looks sooo cute!! but it doesnt' take Gabriel more than 5 minutes to throw up all over himself! he does this ALL the time!!!

WIth all the hoopla we didn't even see DD wake up and get down from the bed and head to the bathroom!! She was ready for her bath and DH gladly let me take the reigns!!

DH loves giving baths normally so i think the whole vacation brain made him forget how splashy the kiddies can get!!

Once baths and showers are over we are ready to head out for the day!!! :yay:

We open up the enormous thing that is the double stroller and are ready to go! everyone loaded! diaper bag packed! snacks and sippies ready! :woohoo:
(YES it ALWAYS takes us this long to get out the door!!!)

It's 8am and we are MK bound!!! we walk the 100 miles to the bus stop and make a QUICK U-Turn to the parking lot! hahaha!! the lines are long, but moving fast!! however we realize with the bulk of the double stroller and the squirminess of the kids we are better off using the singles if we want to ride the bus!! soo we head to the car! ::yes::

We get to the parking lot and there is a lonnnng line to park! We roll down the window and DH aske a CM (HASSAN) if he is opening the next lane (he is standing by the cones) and he says no. So DH inches forward a tiny bit and HASSAN decides to move the cones BEHIND our car and the cars behind get moving to the front!!!! :sad2:

grrrrrr.... we were a tad bit upset, but got over it quick!
So if you see Hassan don't believe him!!

WE of course are at the END of the row and so another trek begins.

***At this time we notice that taking the bus to the parks EVEN if you have to wait for a couple of busses is still WAAAAY faster! we still have to wait for a tram and THEN the monorail and such.***

DH and i decide a plan of action as we are walking. Load Autumn first i go on next he passes me Gabriel and we slide all the way down, he hands me the diaper bag and fold the stroller and loads himself then pulls up the stroller! This plan remains intact throughout the entire trip and it's GOOOLD! ::yes::

Well DH LOVES the monrail  so we know where we are headed!! we have been to WDW LOADS of times!! sooo we like to think we're pros! we were a bit distracted by the rush of people and of course the stroller and diaper bag and a last minute panic

TICKETS?!?!?!
did you bring them??
you were supposed to get them??
I think i put them in the diaper bag..the pink one
but i brought the black one!!!
umm check your pockets?
ohhh maybe they are in the car!?

By now we know there are people staring at the 2 parents laughing soo hard and throwing stuff around from the diaper bag and underneath the stroller!! hmmm... i think i remember putting the keys/tix in our lanyards!!!!

yup....

there they were!!!

AROUND OUR NECKS!!!!!!

official DORKS right here!

soo after that our brains are jumbled and we head up the gang plank and onto the monorail!! :woohoo: WOW that was fast and sooo cool!!!

Cinerellas Castle HERE WE COME!!!

Kind of....

The monorail voice begins.....

Enjoy the highway in the sky as we head to EPCOT!!!!

:lmao: now this is just the cherry on the ice cream sundae! we are sooo nutty!!! We are laughing sooo hard i have tears coming down my face and i CANNOT breath!! Everyone in the car thinks we are wierd i'm sure!! soooo it's a round trip monorail trip for us and THEN a switch to the MK one!

Cinderellas Castle here we come................

Really!!

i promise!!!

right???

YES!!!

see you there!!! :wave2:
