Bright and Early

We are up and ATEM (i have no clue how to spell that!) too early, so we figure heyyy let's take it a bit easy because we have Chef Mickey's in a bit! So we decide to take the Bus!!!

We get in line and after getting attacked by a bee, spilling my sprite down the front of my dress, we are on the bus with 2 kids, 2 strollers and 2 giant head aches!!

There are no real long lines and we get to EPCOT no problem! YESSS i said EPCOT! we didn't want to wait in the MK bus line, so we figure we would switch at the monorail stand

I look at my watch and am amazed we are about 30 minutes early!! DH is pretty sure we will get seated once we get to the Contemp.

hmmm...

there is no line here?!?!

....


wierd....


it takes a while for the CM to get to the hostess station and i announce our name while DH is parking the strollers and getting the kids out!



Hostess:
Ms. DMM....

ME:
yes???

Hostess:
ummm...... we can seat you now, but they are turning over the buffet for lunch and the characters are about to leave...

DMM:

WHAT? why?

Hostess:

YOu are about 30 minutes late for your seating?

ME:
WHAT:!:!:!!:!:! No...here is the confirmation number (i pull out my GIANT itinerary!)

Hostess:
Yes i know

ME:

But it's 11:30

Hostess:

No Miss it's 1230......

DMM:

THE WATCH WAS ON CHICAGO TIME!!!!!



Now here is where i become a nerd...i start CRYING!!! i was so upset with myself and at this moment the lady says, we can seat you but there will be no characters for awhile...why don't you wait for lunch another 30minutes and we can seat you right away...

DMM:
(still crying) noo we will just take what we can get off the buffet, i have 2 babies and they have not eaten yet Don't worry aobut hte characters it's my fault and i really just want to feed the kids.



Well the hostess leaves and i head over to tell DH about how dumb i am...
He gives me a big ole hug and says it's fine! The kids will still have fun no matter what. he really knows how to say the right thing, but the hug makes me cry more. We head to the hostess stand and she and her manager seat us right away.

Manager:
DMM, i'm sorry about the time change (like its her fault!1 it was soo sweet) and We're going to hold over a few minutes on the breakfast and you guys grab what you what for breakfast and then we will rush out lunch so you can have food from there too!!

DMM:
now i'm just blubbering with overwhelming amazement! It doesn't get much more magical then than!!

DH stands up first and heads over to get a bunch of stuff for him and the kids, then it's my turn...


DMM stands up and....

FALL FLAT ON HER FACE!

Autumn and DH are lauging and pointing and manager rushes over to me!

DMM:

i'm fine!! the diaper bag strap got caught around my ankle

Mangaer:
wow you are really having a bad day!

DMM:

nahh this is just a regular DMM day! (throw out embarrased and sheepish smile here!!)

I finally get my food and i see they start seating the lunch crowd.


a little bit later i see the manager heading towards us again!
I ask DH what we did now, but then i see....


....


...

ALL THE CHARACTERS FOLLOWING HER!!!!!!!

i almost DIED! The lunchers were looking at them and smiling and waving, but they stopped at our table FIRST!!!!

It was then and there that i knew there was no more magical place to fall flat on your face then at WDW!

DMM- I"m sorry for the bad day you had, but I'm so glad it turned around for you. I was never a big disney fan until we went on our first trip last year and DH and I are convinced that it's the best vacation experience ever. Their customer service is always above and beyond. If you had fallen and been late for your ressie any other place they would of been "too bad, so sad" Can't wait to hear the rest.

We did this too! Not only were we still on Chicago time, we were in WDW during the fall time change! Talk about messing with your mind! (and ADR's!) I'm glad it all worked out and you guys had fun at Chef Mickey's! (except for the falling flat on your face thing!)

We drove 16-17 hours each way when we went last month. We had a 13 year old, 9 year old and a 3 year old. Kids did wonderful on the way down, we spent the night in a hotel to split the drive. On the way back we drove straight, my 3 year old was not as good on the way back. I understand being in a car seat is not fun. If there is anyway we can afford it we will fly next time, 2 hours and you are there.

We usually fly and we found it more stressful! go figure! It's just that the drive is never ending! we are definately flying for Januarys trip, but we're thinking about driving for December of 2007 since we are doign the cruise too and it would just be nice to have a car for everything we'll see!!

DTD?

Since the afternoon had come upon us, we decided to shop a bit at the Contep. and hten head back to the room for a spell and then off to DTD!

We got back to our room uneventfully and decided we would hop on the bus again!

There was once again NO LINE, so we got on, and got seats!

EVERY year we go, we always end up at DTD every night! we love it here! unfortunately for us this year, this was the one and only time we made it!!!

DD and DS rode the carousel and the train and had a blast! it was soo sweet to wave to them from teh end while DH held on tight to them!!

I DID NOT like the changes to WOD, for some reason i found it to be too crowded, esp with a stroller. The pirate room, just did not hold the magic that i thought it would The princess room was just tooooo crowded to manuever and i found the make your own wand thing to be totally overpriced, for something i could do at home. I just wish that there were more unique things for the wands!

At one point the urge to potty got me and i had to go RIGHT THEN! so i hurry to the bathroom only to see a CM there and they tell me that the bathroom is CLOSED!! He told me to go to McDonalds! i knew i would never ever ever make it!! So i sent DH into the mens room and he said it was empty...Well once the CM walked away i ran in and peed faster than i've ever gone before!! I washed my hands and was out in seriously less than 3 minutes!

I don't reccomend this, BUT it worked for me! i would have had a TOTAL accident if i had to go all the way to McDonalds!

The Lego store was a blast as always except the kids never wanted to leave!!

Our entire DTD trip was totally uneventful, the only reason i mention it, is because of the ride on the bus back home!

It was pretty late when we were ready to finally decide to head back to the room! We get to the bus stop and it's LOADED! I take a seat and tell DH that we should just wait for the next bus, since i don't want to have to stand and i don't want the strollers in the way! Well DD is falling asleep on his shoulder already and the bus arrives! I'm still minimizing the bags an dclosing my stroller, so i send him ahead! i tell him DS and i will get there on the next bus! he doesn't want to go, but i can see there is space for him, so i shoo him away!

He gets on the bus an di FINALLY get my stuff together. I grap the stroller and DS and we hop in line, but a bunch of people tell us to go AHEAD of them!! i tell them no, we can wait for the next bus, but they offer the help anyway!!! It was soo nice! (proof as to how i think the POP guests are always some of the best!!) Well i get on and 3 people offer me their seats, but DH has saved me one! so i sit down and the lady next to me take my stroller and offers to hold it!! i can't take all this pixiedust in one day!! As we get off hte bus the lady takes my stroller and opens it for me!! DH and i wait until last to get off so we don't hit anyone with our bags and everything else!! When we get there, the lady was waiting and held our bags while we strapped in the kids

It was all so magical and it was truly what a vacation to the WORLD should be! Everyone was in a good and helpful mood!! sooo sweet!

That is great how the poeple helped out. I did the same with my DH in MAy--sent him ahead with the kids--there was no line. THe driver saw me closing the stroller and such and SHUT the doors on me. My DH had to make him open the doors. I was not happy.

I don't mind waiting, but since DD had fallen asleep i sent him ahead and figured if we make it and there is a seat great and if not oh well! haha!! i had all i needed to feed DS and once the bags are downsized and the stroller folded it's not a big deal.
