We're Dreaming of a WL Christmas! DEC 2010 INTERACTIVE PTR NEW: 12/9 BYE-BYE!

Will this fit on a Volo? I want one for mine if it does.

I have a McClaren Triumph and it is perfect for that, so I would bet that it would work just as well on the Volo. The straps are easily adjusted to fit different types of stroller handles. And I looked at a picture of the Volo and the handles look very similar. The only problem is that you have to be careful not to overload the organizer b/c the McClaren likes to tip backwards if too much weight is on the back. But I was able to put drinks, batteries, sunscreen, wipes, ponchos, etc. in it and it didn't tip over.

Thank you so much. I love my McClaren but I do not like its lack of storage space. Are you able to fold up the stroller with everything in the pockets?

Thank you so much. I love my McClaren but I do not like its lack of storage space. Are you able to fold up the stroller with everything in the pockets?

YES!!! That is why I liked it so much. It is made of flexible material and folds right up with the stroller, even with stuff in it!

I handle our dirty clothes like a previous poster, fold and put them back into a large suitcase. I wish that I would be able to pack in ziplocs, but I have created a monster in our house. My 7 year old MUST have her clothes ironed before she wears them. One day we were getting ready to go to a football game and her comment was "But Mommy, I can't wear that t-shirt it's not ironed" :rolleyes1 My husband just laughs and says it's all your fault. I of course blame it on my mother.:rotfl: So I even iron at Disney:scared1:

I have a disney drawer but I need to switch it to a large container. We keep the autograph books, ponchos (Hope I don't need these!), squirt fans, lugguge tags, glow sticks, etc. in it. I love being able to put things in it. I also put things in it that I always forget. (A pair of flip-flops, sunglasses, etc!) I also keep my camera charger in it and take it out when I need it. When I'm done it goes right back in the drawer. This is because it was forgotten last time!:scared1:

Sounds like your own version of an Owner's Locker! :thumbsup2

I have enjoyed reading your PTR! We went to in Nov 09 and feel in love with everything. The Christmas Decor was up and everything seemed so much more magical. We hope to go again in May 2010, but nothing can compare to Christmas at Disney!

I look forward to reading more of your PTR. I also love your binder. You are making me want to start updating ours for our next trip :)

Katie, you are quite the woman!!!! I LOVE the Container Store...I use those clear shoe boxes to store my shoes in my closet. :)

As far as a tip..one thing I do before we leave is make sure I buy enough band aids, batteries, etc - those are SUPER pricey at WDW so a little planning there can really save some $$$.

We don't have a Container Store, but it sounds like something I would love!

I don't really have any organization tips that haven't already been shared, I'll only throw in what we do with our dirty clothes during a trip. I can't stand to have an open suitcase laying around in the floor taking up space, so I will stand our suitcases up in the corner and just leave the very top unzipped. Dirty clothes then get put into the opening at the top of the suitcases at the end of each day. Granted I do have to take everything out and fold it when it's time to get ready to go home, but that really doesn't take much time and it's worth it to me not to have floor space taken up by an open suitcase. :thumbsup2

What do we do with our dirty clothes? We have a Mickey duffle bag we bought years ago (it's black and blue). We put all our dirty clothes in there.

HEHE I am sure you are SO organized. As a Mom, you have to be!!! I was thinking of using the shoe holder method as well. The vanities are not too big so that would be great.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What an AMAZING post of ideas! Love it.

I am very, very excited about your dirty clothes idea!!! I brought pop up hampers last year, but they took up too much space and was just gross to look at. I am totally going to use your method!!! Thank you!!

I have a hanging toiletry bag as well. I did not bring it last time, but I will have to this time. The vanity was really small.

I agree--we are only bringing one bag to the park this year!! When my son was younger and we had bottles, etc...we had to bring two. But I am going with the VB large backpack this year. If it is cold, my husband will carry a backpack too for our gloves. Thanks again for your amazing tips!!!

Thank you!! I love the AG magazine!! There are lots of fun quizes to take, I even like to read it! he. I am excited to see how many plates we will see. I am kind of worried because we usually only see Alabama, Louisiana, and FL plates on the way down. Ha!

I would LOVE to get Space Bags. How do you re-pack them before you leave? Don't you need a vaccum?

I am going to try the hanging bag idea this year!!! Didn't you find the vanity at the WL very small? The sinks were nice and large, but not much countertop space. I like the idea of hanging it high away from the toddlers! ha.

That stroller hanger looks awesome!!! I am going to look for one. I plan on renting a double stroller from Orlando Strollers. I wonder if it would fit on that? I also would LOVE to find that trash bag at the CS for the car. We will be going to the Container Store in a few weeks---I will have to be on the lookout.

Thank you SO much for your amazing tips!!! Glad to see that I am not the only OCD person out there! haa!
No vacuum needed on the space bags we got- i mean you can, but we just simply pushed the air out of them by rolling them, then laying them flat again. it did help a bit on saving space. The stroller bag should fit on any stroller. It just has straps that work like a seatbelt- so you can extend the straps longer or shorter and just snap it around the stroller handles. Our stroller really lacks storage, but we bought it because it folds so easily and even has a 'strap' on the back so once folded, we throw it over our shoulder. It doesn't have a snack tray, but does have a cup holder (combi). We usually rent a car when at WDW, so we have to park and get on the tram, which means folding up the stroller over and over. :) Yeah, the WL did lack some counter space. I am hoping we have more in a 1bed at BLT! ;) But the over the door holder was a huge help! i would keep some extra sippy cups and everything in those pockets!

How could I have forgotten this!!! I have this EXACT same organizer from Toys R Us and it ROCKS!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 I loved it b/c we could fold up the stroller without taking this off. I'm sure it would work on just about any stroller too b/c the straps are adjustable.
don't you love it! yep, easy to just fold up! best investment i made in a long time. since our stroller only has one cup holder (that we added ourselves), i love the pockets to throw in water bottles.

What a fun update! Wow, you're organized!!!
You have a container store?!?! I'm so jealous.
O.k, let me chime in my two cents. I'm very organized at home; everything has a container and label. On vacation, I was when the kids were smaller but now not as much.
One year, I got makeup bags personalized for the entire family with a mickey head on it. Everyone packs and keeps their tolietries in it and then it just goes next to the sink. It saves a lot of counter space.
Also, at the Disney store they have these large Mickey tote bags for a dollar. Dh uses one, I use one, and the girls share one. These are our laundry bags. We put the tote bag in the suitcase when we're leaving and when you get home you just empty it into the wash.
We only have a 3 hr drive to Disney so we just talk and DH rents a movie on I-tunes and puts it on the kids' I-pods. They also look at maps and decide what they want to do.
We use one hard bag on wheels and the rest are duffel bags. That way once we're unpacked the duffels go in the hard suitcase and that saves a TON of closet space.
I bring a beach bag on the way up with breakfast food, snacks, paperplates, etc. We take it out when we get there and use it there and then I use it as a pool bag. On the way home it can either be a bag for soovies or the pool things.

WOW!! Amazing ideas, ThANK YOU! No, unfortunately we do not have a Container Store here. We will be in Houston to visit friends soon, so I will visit then. I LOVE that store!!!

I also like to use the $1 bags from Disney Store. I got a really cute rainbow colored one recently!

You are very lucky to be so close to Disney :cloud9: I am sure the kids are a LITTLE easier to keep busy now that they are older ;) But, still not easy. Ha!

Oh my! Love the "drawer" idea. I am currently working on one myself :rolleyes1

Love the organization update. Yeah - I'm not so organized. I could learn a lot from you!

Thank you!!! I am so excited about all of the new tips I have learned from the other ladies. Hope they helped!!

OK--going to get one tomorrow! haha

Thank you so much. I love my McClaren but I do not like its lack of storage space. Are you able to fold up the stroller with everything in the pockets?

YES!!! That is why I liked it so much. It is made of flexible material and folds right up with the stroller, even with stuff in it!

Awesome!! I don't think it will tip over the City Double, do you??

I handle our dirty clothes like a previous poster, fold and put them back into a large suitcase. I wish that I would be able to pack in ziplocs, but I have created a monster in our house. My 7 year old MUST have her clothes ironed before she wears them. I of course blame it on my mother.:rotfl: So I even iron at Disney:scared1:

OH my goodness! Sounds just like me and my family. I HAVE to iron things and, unfortunately, never get away from ironing even at Disney! That was my complaint with the ziplock method, but I would iron anyway, so it just makes it easier to find the clothes I needed. I wonder if there is a way to do the ziplock method and have them pre-pressed before vacation? I will have to ask my MIL--she is great about those things!!

Sounds like your own version of an Owner's Locker! :thumbsup2

You are right! hehe

Thank you so much Rinky. I will be getting one of them this weekend when I run errands. :goodvibes

Me too!!! Can't wait!

Ohhh thanks!!! I am sooo excited to see everything all decorated! What were your dates in Nov? I am thinking of going during Thanksgiving next year. I love to update my binder!! I hope to see pictures of yours too!

HEHE Thanks Katie!!! I love Container Store too. It is so addicting. Great point, those things can add up. My DH always says "we will get it in the park if we need it" but we usually do need it and it does save tons of $ to get it before!

We don't have a Container Store, but it sounds like something I would love!

Ohhh go online and take a look. It has a storage solution for everything!

I just LOVE the idea of the unzipped suitcase!!! How clever! Really--this idea gets me so excited you have no idea. I can not stand the look of overflowing laundry baskets in the room!

What do we do with our dirty clothes? We have a Mickey duffle bag we bought years ago (it's black and blue). We put all our dirty clothes in there.

I am so happy you guys are suggesting that! It seems so much easier!!

OHHH I did not realize that you did not need one!!! Oh great, just one more thing I will need to buy! haha.

[Ohhh thanks!!! I am sooo excited to see everything all decorated! What were your dates in Nov? I am thinking of going during Thanksgiving next year. I love to update my binder!! I hope to see pictures of yours too!]

We went Nov 16-22 last year. On Tuesday night we went to bed with a non-decorated lobby at Pop Century and woke up to a wonderfully decorated lobby. I will try to get some pictures together and post soon.

I just LOVE the idea of the unzipped suitcase!!! How clever! Really--this idea gets me so excited you have no idea. I can not stand the look of overflowing laundry baskets in the room!

I'm nuts about wanting the room to look nice and tidy - it makes me cranky to have a mess in the room or for it to look cluttered. It's a sickness, I know!

I love all your packing!! so organised :goodvibes

I guess my packing tip .. is having a 'master list' for WDW vacations and updating it each trip.. it's a spreadsheet (so I can update it while I'm at work and no one notices!), and I have colours, tabs etc to keep my thoughts organised - then I print of the lists about a week before the vacation, and start packing!! :woohoo:

Emma princess: x

Loving your organizing question. I like all your containers; I'll have to try that on our next get-a-way. I don't have any new ideas. My favorite tip is to use the clear over the door hanger to use in the bathroom. It saves a ton of space. I also use the large suit case for dirty clothes.

It looks so beautiful in Destin! DD just loves the beach, which is what the cruise will be all about I'm sure. I want to take DD to Build-a-Bear for the first time soon. I hope to perhaps do it in September for her birthday I think. Perhaps sooner, maybe in August for a friend for the road. :goodvibes

Organizational Tip: I take the DVDs out of their cases (besides the new, surprise dvds) and put them in one of the multi-disk holder (originally intended for cds). It saves space and I can hold upwards of 30 DVDs. All the music cds we want to bring go onto our MP3 players. For trash, I keep Hefty Handy Sacks available in the car. I will bring a couple packs with me. They are great!
From our trip to NC, I know that having a collapsible laundry basket worked really well for us so we are planning on taking it with us to Disney (since we are driving too).

This post is to highlight all of the amazing talents who help make my trips more colorful and creative!!

First up, my wonderful friend Kali. She will be creating an Etsy store soon that I will share with you!! She does wall murals locally here in Louisiana. She also does amazing canvas work (like kid’s canvases for their rooms).

Here is the mural she painted for my playroom:

She is so talented! She did the whole wall free-handed!

Here are the buckets she made for our beach trip:

I will let you know when her online store is up and running. She is speedy and honest—I just love her.

Next is a friend that I have made through the internet (go figure!). Her name is April and she has two ETSY sites that I think the DIS community would go crazy over!

Her first website sells applique templates and tutorials on how to make your OWN appliqued shirts! The tutorial is SO easy. I am working on a few myself for this trip. No sewing is involved if you do not do that sort of thing. She offers many specials, like buy one get one free, through her facebook page.

Here are a few examples of the applique templates:

And here is a picture of her template tutorial:

il_430xN_157035082.jpg

When you buy a template, she will email it to you and you print out the shape. Then, follow her step by step tutorial (with pictures) and that is it!! Really, it is a lot easier than you would think.

April also just launched a NEW website!! I know many of you will be very excited about this one. She is offering the templates to make your very own iron on shirts (like the ones many DIS members make). She will customize the template for you and then you print them with transfer paper and iron on a tshirt! Again, a very simple step-by-step tutorial is offered.

Take a look at some designs:

This is such a quick and simple way to make your vacation customized!! Her tutorial helps SO much:

So here are her two websites if you are interested. Tell her Katie/Bippity Boo sent you and she will know you are from the DIS! I am trying to get her to join DIS. Her family goes to Disney a lot and I would love for her to write a TR!

Search "Sophia Grace" on facebook to join her fanpage. That is how I met her---I won 5 free templates! http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Sophia-Grace/120728747957102?ref=t

She has also recently become my very own fairy godmother and is sending me and INCREDIBLE package!! I should get it next week---can’t wait to show you what it is!!

Last, I had this awesome family “picture” made on the Creative DISigns board. I think it came out SUPER cute and I am going to use it as a letterhead and stickers for our upcoming trip. It really does look like us all! She has many hats, heads, hair, etc to pic from! It was made by DIS member tebi73!!
