I started walking along the lagoon as there were shade trees as I worked to catch up with Roxy and her super
scooter.
I stopped to take a pic of the buildings across the way
I ran out of shade so headed back to the street and caught a good shot of the Monster Makeup Show and made a mental note to return to it.
I crossed to the right and came across a band just finishing up a set in front of Mels
I kept walking towards the Monster Review stage and who did I find parked? The Blues Brothers! Elwood gave me a wave before they had to drive off to do their set
I met up with Roxy and found out she had also seen the Blues Brothers but what she was really jazzed about was a meeting with Doc Brown, who was near his steam engine/time machine. There wasn’t anyone around at the time so she had a very cool on-on-one interaction with him.
They do a great job of finding actors to play these characters, as you’ll see from Beetlejuice and his crew. We headed in and got seats at the bottom of the stands behind the floor seating. One of the ushers was really into the rock n roll vibe of the show and kept us well entertained until the show started.
Soon enough the show started with a mummy saying hello
The set itself was pretty cool
Then the man of the hour came out
He was wondering where his supporting cast was
He decided to come out and meet his public
He came my way and immediately spotted my camera
Not one to miss a photo op he slicked up
…and gave me a pose
Then it was back to the stage to start the introductions of his crew – Franky was first
Creeping up behind him was Drac
Beetlejuice did a little Franky impression
Next up was Franky’s Wife
Last up was the Wolman; they all then moved out to start the show
Beetlejuice thought they needed to get with the times so he sent them running
He worked some magic
And they came back transformed into much “cooler” versions of themselves
They all started rockin’
And dancin’
Next up, more of the Review!
