We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

Happy Halloween!

Madison looks so pretty in her pictures. I love that she wanted to do a photo shoot and got into it. I will be ucky if I get one decent shoot of Caitin tonight without her hand over her face:headache:

I went to a few stores today and they already had Xmas stuff out. With the snow on the ground and xmas stuff out it doesn't even feel like fall:sad2: I love the Holiday season but now they start it two months out it gets annoying. I want some time to enjoy fall and Thanksgiving before I deal with xmas.

Madison looks absolutely adorable in her Alice in Wonderland costume! My favorite is the one looking for the rabbit hole.

I told John yesterday that this year has gone by so very fast. I can't believe it will be November tomorrow!

Thanks! Those were some of my favorites too! It was here idea to do that so I thought she was pretty clever!

This year is just going way, way too quickly!!

I love the Alice costume! She looks very mature but still very sweet and pretty. Great choice!

Thanks!! It is amazing how quickly she went from a little girl to a teen...I try not to think of her heading out in a few years!! :sad1: :scared1: :sad1:

I thought of you and Caitlin as I posted this! Hopefully she cooperated with you a little bit!

I cannot believe you guys got snow! It makes me shiver thinking about it! I agree on how they push Christmas. I had to get some potting soil from Walmart Sunday and the whole area was nothing but Christmas decorations! It wasn't even Halloween yet!!

Madison is so cute in that costume! I love it! :goodvibes

Thank you!! I thought so too but I am her mom and that kind of rules out objectivity!

Well my blonde is showing (no offense blonds!!) and I forgot I had cleaned out my cookies on the computer. I "lost" my TR...:rolleyes1 but it has been found now so I am going to post an update!!!! :woohoo:

I last left off with us meeting up with Keith. We have eaten at Tusker House, rode Kilimanjaro Safari and walked the Pangani Trail. So where to next?

IMG_2691.jpg

Now this is where I strategize and do a little trickery. By this time it is quickly approaching the 11am hour and I know that there is a FOTLK show to begin at 11am! Keith does not like musicals, dancing characters, acrobats…well basically anything that reeks of Broadway so I simply say “Hey! Let’s go see The Lion King! It is about to begin!” And we all happily run off!

Later he acknowledges my trickery and I have to repent a little but I told him it was a “must” for my mom and I wanted to get his misery over with fast…he is good with this! :thumbsup2

Festival of the Lion King has to be (IMHO) one of the best things at WDW! (Of equal excited note: I just got an e-mail it is coming to New Orleans!! :woohoo:) It is beautiful both in sight and sound! The pageantry is awesome and since “The Lion King” is one of my all-time favorites I love to sing along (although I refrain to keep from getting evil stares from strangers around me!). This show makes me smile the whole time! Some of the images I snapped while thoroughly enjoying this show!! (some= A LOT!!)

We exit FOTLK and begin to decide where to go next.

I just love these guys!!

IMG_2744.jpg

We aren’t far from the Tree of Life so I decide a visit to some of my favorite bugs is in order!! We make our way over to “It’s Tough To Be A Bug!” and along the way I warn my mom of a few things. :rolleyes1 (Also FPs are grabbed by FP Runner Chris for Kilimanjaro Safari for later in the day.)

We travel along the path around the Tree of Life and (again) a few pictures of those common sights!

These signs are some of my favorite things to look at!

IMG_2751.jpg

IMG_2752.jpg

There was no line at all so I did not get the tons of animal pictures I normally take. This tree still amazes me! I saw a show describing the design and making of the tree and it just awes me!

We are sporting our Bug glasses very well, if I say so myself!!

IMG_2754.jpg

IMG_2757.jpg

We enter and watch as Flik and Friends tells us just what it is like to be a bug. At one point (SPOILER ALERT) the spiders come down from the ceiling and Madison is startled. So startled in fact that she whacks one of the spiders and in the process she nearly knocks my mom’s teeth out….literally!! My mom is still warning people to not go with Madison...or at least sit away from her!! :lmao: Thankfully my mom's teeth were left in tact and no blood or split lips resulted from the assault!!

Ou day is almost done but we have a few more things left to do!! Plus what I hope is a very special evening is coming up!!

First off, and I know this is out of order, but thanks for the laugh. I am still giggling over Madison knocking the spider and hitting your mother. Not that hitting your mother is funny but...well...it's funny. :rotfl:

Second, super good pictures of the Festival of the Lion King. I am right there with you and agree that it is the best show in all of Walt Disney World. Love love love it!

It really was funny and my mom still loves telling that story. Had the outcome been worse it would not have been so funny but Madison was after those spiders!!

I love FOTLK! I take bizillions of pictures there...some good and some not so much so! I think I am almost constantly snapping away (and singing in my head!).

I agree, FOTLK is an amazing show. A must do for sure for people that haven't seen it before. No worries about the trickery. We all use it at some time or another. :lmao:

Poor Madison almost knocking your mom in the face! ITTBAB can do that to people. We lose all sense of what's real!

I like FOTLK, but we've seen it so many times, not sure we'll go see it again in the near future. :)

However --- :scared1: I NEVER realized that those spiders came down far enough to touch!! Maybe...maybe I'm crouching?? :lmao:

My DD made me come back to your thread to see what you said about Chris... ;)

I have learned what to reveal and what is better left unknown! There are a lot of things I would miss out on otherwise!! :rotfl:

I am unsure why she had not noticed the spiders before but she definitely did this time....much to my mom's dismay!!

We skipped FOTTLK last year because I knew Keith would not care for it. I haven't seen it enough yet to get tired of it but since there is little change I can definitely see where you can see it "too much"!!

I don't know that the spiders really come that low but Madison sure thought they were! She has a slight case of arachnaphobia!!

When I told Chris he at first thought she was a stalker! I had to explain to him about the DisBoards and TRs and such. He didn't really understand what I did on the computer all of the time! So when I explained/showed to him his chest expanded and he got all grinny (is that a word? :confused3). He was quiet impressed and thought it was very cool! :)

Glad you got to see FOTLK one of my very favorite shows at WDW! I know it's always the same but the music is so amazing and I just love the whole thing. Pretty cool trick you pulled off! :thumbsup2

The Halloween pics of Madison are really good. Very professional looking. The years go way too fast; that's for sure! Pretty funny about her attempted spider-killing incident. I admit I laughed out loud! Glad your Mom was ok though! Isn't it funny how things like that are what make vacation "moments" that we talk about for the rest of our lives! :goodvibes

I thought the trick was pretty clever! I have the Lion King cd just so I can listen to the music anytime I wish!

Thanks so much ont he pictures! The years fly and I did not realize what people always said until it happened to me!!

I find it amusing how you can plan and plan and plan for a trip but the best memories are the ones that just happen along the way! It is the spontanoues moments and happenings that live forever in your memories and not all of those "plans". I love to plan but (thankfully) I have learned that the planning can be tossed if it will result in something even better than any plan could ever imagine!!

Great pictures of FOtLK! I agree it is the best show at WDW!

We skip It's tough to be a bug for right now. Spiders would make me jump too!

I am so happy to see so many people agree with me on FOTLK!!! :woohoo:

Your little ones are probably too young to like ITTBAB. I really love this but after the first time I learned little tricks...like slumping in my seat...:rolleyes1

I left off with us finishing up ITTBAB! and Madison nearly knocking my mom's teeth out! Well, thankfully her teeth are still intact and we are able to make our way to our next destination: DinoLand.

A few more pics along the way…

Initially I had marked Dinosaur! Off the list however Madison and Chris both were disappointed in the possibility of not riding so it was added back to the “Plan”.

Getting our time travel instructions!!

IMG_2770.jpg

IMG_2772.jpg

This ride can be loud, bumpy and a little startling. I have enjoyed it in the past but it isn’t an E-Ticket ride for me. I can take it or leave it. We get in line and wait about 15 – 20 minutes before we board our time rover and go in search of the much desired dino!

As you can tell from our picture, we are slightly amused (actually to my eyes, we look bored). I know right where the camera is and in the past we have faked some pictures. This time it is just “whatever”!

AK6.jpg

But the funny thing was the two men behind Keith and Chris. This picture does not show the fear they had but they had us in tears after the big, mean dinosaur roared at us. The camera was just a little too fast! They screamed so loud we could hear them over the ride’s noise and we also learned the reason the seatbelts are installed. Plain and simple fact: had these two guys not been securely tied into the Time Rover, I am unsure where they would have wound up. They tried their hardest to get out of that thing!!!!! That alone made this ride fun!! (sorry guys I don’t know…;))

A few pictures as we exit and head to our next destination:

IMG_2777.jpg

IMG_2778.jpg

There are two attractions that are a must at AK for me. One we have done (Kilimanjaro Safari) and the other we have Fast Passes for—Expedition Everest! The time has arrived to take on the Yeti!!!! :yay:

IMG_2779.jpg

Keith and my mom sit this one out…literally on a rock in the hot sun. There really isn’t a good location to wait for EE! We head through the FP line and soon we are soaring over the Himalayas!! What a rush! Did I say I love this ride?! Okay, maybe it isn’t the most daring, thrill-seeking ride in amusement parkdom but it is a lot of fun to me!!

I love the queue area!!

Great views of WDW!

IMG_2787.jpg

IMG_2788.jpg

It is the end of the track!!

IMG_2790.jpg

My redneck pictures from the ride!

IMG_2791.jpg

We exit and decide what about one more time!?

IMG_2794.jpg

Yes, we decide to go use the two FPs we had gotten for my mom and Keith! Madison and Chris get in the FP line and I decide to ride single rider. The single rider line was much, much slower than the FP line and they had to wait about 20 minutes for me. The 20 minutes was still better than the stand-by posted time of 60 minutes. It isn’t the wisest choice for a combo FP/single rider ride though!

IMG_2796.jpg

We finish up at EE and head to Kali River but the wait is just too long.

First a few Photopass pics though!

We decide to walk over to Maharajah Jungle Trek. It is time to see some bats and tigers (what a combo!!).

IMG_2800.jpg

The Kamodo Dragon

IMG_2801.jpg

First up are the bats. These things just creep me out!!

IMG_2802.jpg

IMG_2804.jpg

We meander along the pathway and soon we are at the tigers!

IMG_2806.jpg

I love tigers! They are so regal!

IMG_2807.jpg

It has gotten pretty warm by now so these guys were in shade seeking mode!

IMG_2808.jpg

We leave the tiger area and make our way through the rest of the Jungle Trek.

Keith and Chris discussing how awesome the day has been!! :rotfl:

IMG_2811.jpg

IMG_2812.jpg

Well we are almost done for the day! What to do now?!

IMG_2813.jpg

The store in Dinoland looks so cute! I love the big Dino holding Mr. Potato Head. :rotfl: We kind of dash in and out of that part of the park. One of these days, we will have to spend a little more time and explore the shops.

Too bad the wait was too long at Kali. We have had that problem before too.

I love the queue at EE too. One of these days, my kids will all want to ride with DH. I will walk through with them taking pictures and then use the "chicken exit". :rolleyes1

Great Photopass shots!

Don't you just love it when you are on a ride with somebody who is super excited to ride or they are scared? It's makes the ride so much more fun. We were once on Dinosaur with two guys who were scared to death too and they were screaming high pitched squeals and we were laughing our butts off.

Very cool pictures of the rest of your Animal Kingdom day. You are one brave woman for taking pictures while on Expedition Everest. I'm usually tucking my head down 'cause I'm scared of the heights.
