I am so excited! I booked a last minute trip for me and DD20 to go to DL!!!! We have free air tix (FF miles), free hotel (hotel pts.), and already have AP's from our trip last March!! So this will be a cheapie trip! We have enough Hertz points for a free rental car, but I think I would rather take a shuttle and just walk to the parks. I am worried that I would get lost trying to get from SNA to DL. And if we take a shuttle, we will save the Hertz pts. for another time when DH and other Dkids are with us.
Now, for the ?'s. We are staying at the Quality Inn and Suites Anaheim Resort on Manchester St. It is right behind Mimi's Cafe. I know we can walk that far, since we have stayed at HoJo's before, and it seems to be about the same distance. I am a little worried about this place not being very nice. It gets really mixed reviews on Tripadvisor. We don't care if it's not fancy, as long as it is clean and we feel safe. Has anyone stayed here recently? I would love a Dissers input. My DH is pressing me to get a taxi for the ride home from DL in the evenings, since it will be dark when we leave the parks. Is this easy to do, and about how much will it cost? How do I go about it? Are there taxis waiting at the exit of DLR, or will I have to call ahead and have one meet us there? Or would it be easier to get one from the Grand Californian? Is a taxi and ok idea? DH is a little worried about 2 "girls" walking alone at night back to the hotel. We are both very small, and would probably be an easy target for someone up to no good.
We went to WDW in October, on free air, free hotel and free rental car (only had to buy park tickets). My DD18 and DS13 went with me and DH, but DD20 couldn't go due to college, so now she and I are doing a mom and me trip! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be able to do this!! I am thinking of booking the Cruzin' tour at CA (Segway tour). Me and DD18 did it at Epcot in Oct. and it was a blast!! I am not sure if I could still get it this late... we will be at DLR Dec. 2-6. Is this tour as good as the Epcot one? It is longer, but I am not sur if it will be as good w/o the WS to cruise thru. If anyone can compare the two, I would appreciate it!
And I think the crowds will be ok... The CP is on the sunday we arrive, but we are planning on going into the park mainly to see Fantasmic!, since this is the only day it is showing while we are there. Fantasmic! at MGM is ok, but the DL version blows it away, and it wasn't showing while we were there last March, or the year before for that matter, so it has been awhile since we have seen the "good" version!! And we have never seen DLR at christmas! So I am psyched about that too! We have seen HMH at halloween, but not all the christmas decorations!
Sorry I am rambling, and this is so long.... it's all my excitement at actually booking the trip! Now if I can only wait 2 and a half weeks!!! (I am used to booking months in advance, so this should be easy!!LOL!!).
