OK, for months and months we planned, prepared and were very excited about our Disney World trip and now it's all over...I was ready to cry yesterday when we checked out of our home away from home!

Our trip had many ups and even a few downs!

Day 1: Started off with yet another flight problem and me being extremely crabby, because I thought our dinner reservation would have to be canceled. Well, we were suppose to fly out at 2:30. It was a little over a 3 hour flight and we were cutting it close to begin with. We get to the airport at 1:10 to find that our flight had been delayed until 4:20. It was not a problem with weather, it was a "pilot wasn't available until 4:00" issue...so after complaining and throwing a fit my family got food vouchers ($130 in vouchers!!!) and some really good certificates that equal to each of us having a free round trip flight in the USA, plus about 50,000 frequent flier miles total.

OK, our flight did end up leaving late (it did leave at 4:00pm our time/5:00 Disney time) , but I was satisfied that we had been taken care of by the airline. We arrived at AKL around 8:50 pm that night.

When we arrived at AKL we were told that we didn't have reservations there, but at Wilderness Lodge. We were treated to a "complimentary upgrade" which we've never had before and it was nothing short of amazing! We were put into a Concierge room with one queen bed and bunk bed. It was on the 5th floor. We had a great view, but it wasn't the one we really asked for. We wanted savanna view, but got pool view. No complaints here. We asked if they could "switch our room to savanna view if one became available sometime durring our stay" and they said we could spend our last three nights in savanna view, which worked out well for us.

The lounge/concierge food was really great and I was excited to try all of the different wines and my hubby even liked two of them!

Well, we spent our first full day at Disneys Hollywood Studios.

Our first reaction was shock. We couldn't BELIEVE all of the Italians and people from other countries. We thought this was supposed to be the slow season??? HOLY CRAP, people everywhere! Hardly any of them spoke English and they didn't know what it ment to stand in a line and wait. We were so mad, because in the first line (to get on Arosmith rollercoaster) that I stood in I had people budging in front of me and there were these LOUD disrespectful older teen kids (Italians) that were YELLING at eachother and getting into these little "catfights" while they stood in line. Then, one of the girls slapped the other and pushed EVERYONE out of her way while she left the line. I was almost knocked over by her and this group of teens were giving Italy a bad name. DON'T GET ME WRONG!!!! I LOVE ITALY, been there three times and would live there if I could, but seeing them budge in front of me, then seeing a totally different group of them fight and be disrespectful towards others made me mad that they were there.

Rockin rollercoaster was great, as usual. Hubby also went on it, then we did some shows, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the beast and Indiana Jones. We saw some charicters- Handi Manni, little einstines and Monsters Inc people. Then, we ate at brown derby- which was very good!!!!! AN ABSOLUTE MUST THERE IS THE GRAPEFRUIT CAKE, OMG!!!! TO DIE FOR!!!

Then, we went to fantasmic which IMO is the best evening show at Disney. It was amazing and a great way to end the day!

Standing in line to get on the bus back to the hotel, more Italians were fighting and as we were walking onto the bus (my hubby, Daughters and I) the "fighters" held their hands out to stop us and they said something in Italian and let 4 or 5 of their friends who were at the back of the line get on the bus, there was no more room for us to get on. The bus driver saw this, threw a fit at these idiots and told them all to get off of the bus, so we got to ride. -Once again, I have nothing against Italians, but when CERTAIN ones come to the USA, their respect is non-existant. I know that a lot of USA people go to Italy and are probably disrespectful as well, but my husband and I couldn't believe how horrible they were on this trip to Disney- we saw many different times where they were rude, loud and disrespectful and we did not expect it from them!

Our second full day was at Animal Kingdom. We started with the safari, which has never dissapointed us! The line wasn't that long at all right away- we got there right when it opened and waited in line for less than 10 minutes. When we got off, the line said it was 50 minutes, so we got fast passes for the safari later (we love this ride!!!) Then, we went to Lion King, poccahantis, and did bugs life. We got A LOT done and it was almost noon, so we ate at Pizzafarri. The girls each had spaghetti, grapes and a cookie. I had a pizza (it was kind of bland) and hubby had an italian sandwich- which was actually really really good.

After lunch, we headed to meet Pooh, piglett and tigger. There was no one behind us in line, so the girls got to have some fun with them. They were playing around with us and "teasing us" then the girls and I went to dig for dinosaur bones while hubby went on a few rides- Everest, Dinosaur. He then watched the girls and I went on the rides. It started to rain as I was walking to meet them, so we did our second run on the safari and left the park early and went back to our hotel for some "family/kids activities". We ate dinner at Boma and it was one of the best meals we had when at Disney. My girls LOVED the zebra domes and ate several of them. The food was very good here and the service was outstanding. I would reccommend this place to EVERYONE!

Third full day was at Epcot and we got there right when it opened. Got right on to Soarin' and we were surprized to see how much our girls LOVED it. i thought for sure that our almost 6 year old would freak out, but she didn't!!! So, we got fast passes for it later and went over to the seas pavilion. We were surprized to see how quickly we got onto the Nemo ride. In the past there's always been a long line, this trip there was NEVER a wait- there should be a better line set up though, so people don't have to go through all of the "back and forth" before they get on the ride (If there's no wait!!!) We did Turtle Talk with crush right after the ride and we were surprized to see that they had moved the entrance of the ride. We liked the set-up where the kids could look at sting rays and jelly fish before the crush show. It was nicely done. We did test track, honey I shrunk the audiance, figiment (which wasn't as good as I remembered it to be) and then went back to soarin'. My kids really enjoyed the "land" ride as they called it. My almost 6 year old really enjoyed looking at all of the plants- the bananna trees were a favorite of my almost 4 year old dd. She loves bananas. We all really liked the "earning my ears" pumpkin forms that were forming the pumpkins into mickey mouse heads. CLEVER. I wonder if a person could buy one of those forms somewhere. It would be fun to have Mickey Mouse pumpkins!

We then went over to world showcase. Went on the Mexico boat ride, Norway ride and then headed over for our res at Octoberfest. (can anyone say BEER!!!!) We got there 10 minutes before the show started, filled our plates with yummy foods- my fav. had to be the soup. It was so good. Potato leek. My girls even liked it. The show started and my girls were amazed with the guy who played the fastest bells in the world. He was really good. We had never eatten here before and I am happy we did. The show was a lot of fun and the food was really good. The desserts though were GREAT!!! The apple strudle with sauce- OMG, YUMMMMMMM!!! and try putting some of the white sauce on top of the cranberry compote- WOOOOOOW! Very good! Well, we were full, the girls did some of their kidcot stops, decorated more than one mask and stopped to see some characters- aladin, Jasmine in Moracco, we watched a few different performances, the best had to be the candy making lady in Japan. It was fun to watch her.

We stayed until Illuminations- then went back to our resort for bed!

Fourth Full day was FINALLY Magic Kingdom. We didn't want to do it on the weekend, so we waited until Monday. The girls were happy because we showed up early for the opening show and just as that finished, we got to experiance the year of a million dreams with magical fast passes, YOMD sparkle mickey hats and lanyards with about 15 pins each on them. We were quite excited and it was the perfect park for us to get them in. We did dumbo, pooh, snow white, tea cups, philharmagic, small world and peter pan rides and then it started to get busier, so we went over to see Ariel (a great time to see her, because we only waited for 6 minutes!!!) then the other characters- princesses were Belle (my DD4's FAVORITE), cinderella and aurora. Then we saw Pluto, chipmunks, donald and daisy. We went to Ariels show and my dd4 was the candle stick (lumiere) and my husband was the beast and he's a great actor. One of the little kids in the front row started crying when DH was asked to "roar" for everyone, so he scaled it back a little. we then went to monsters, Inc. comedy floor and that was really good. We enjoyed it and DD(almost 4) was "boo" in their story that they did. It was a lot of fun and we went back to it twice.
I got my dole whip float. That was the only thing I HAD TO have at MK. I got one for myself, my girls split one and my hubby just got the dole whip and we all loved it.
Every trip we tell ourselves "we are not doing the stupidest show at Disney" but every trip, we still waste our time going to see those dumb birds and my oldest daughter complains the entire time. Then, we went to the jungle cruise and pirates. Splash Mt. was closed :sad2: but we went on thunder Mt. and then saw the parade.
after the parade we went back to the resort for some swimming and down time. We then headed over to our "secret MK fireworks" spot. we accidentally found it a few years back and it it's "our special place" at Disney. We watched the MK fireworks, then back to our room for some sleep.

The next day DD (almost 6) woke up not feeling well! Her ears hurt, her throat hurt and she didn't want to get out of bed. SO, DH took DD4 down to the kids area for some resort activities and as the morning went on I started getting sick as well. DD and I spent almost 1/2 of the day in bed. Then, we went down and sat in the hot tub and all of us went to Hollywood studios dinner that night and to fantasmic again. It was a lazy, sick day.

More to come later. We all came home sick. I now have strep, my 4 year old has strep and an ear infection, my 6 year old has strep...we just started feeling it yesterday morning and went to the Dr. right away this morning!

I have lots more "detailed" stuff, but we're all tired!

Wow, sounds like a great time so far. It's really amazing how you wait so long, then it's over:sad2:

That is so neat you won all the dream stuff. Did you get it all at the same time? Were you just standing there? That's cool!

We just got back a week and a half ago and we came home sick too. The worst sore throat ! I went to the doc the day after we returned home and have been on antibiotics.

I'm looking forward to more:)

We are going with our 2 girls (11 and 8) in 29 days and staying at AKV. Did the resort seem crowded? How about the parks? I heard there were a lot of Brazilian tour groups but didn't know there were a lot of other foreigners too. I hope they are gone by next month. Glad yall had such a great trip. It reminded me of when our girls were that age and we took them to Disney for the first time.

Are you sure they weren't the infamous Brazilian teens speaking Portuguese?
It sounds very much like Italian!

Yeah, there were a lot of Brazilians as well! A few french people and a few people from Asia...The resort was packed, the parks were packed and most of the people did not speak english! I have never seen so many rude people at Disney on ANY trip we've taken there!

Over all it was very very fun. I am still shocked that DH and I LOVE the grapefruit cake as much as we did. My DH HATES cake and he wanted to order another piece! I couldn't believe it!

Day 6 both of my girls were not feeling well, I was not feeling well and it was a rainy day off and on, so we slept once again. DH took advantage of Disney Quest. He wasn't happy that we were sick, but happy that he got to be a teen for the day and just go play video games. When the girls and I woke up we got ready to go and went over to DTD to meet DH. We met him at Planet Hollywood for a meal. We were all surprizingly hungry. My DD's love this place. They enjoy music and the environment there is always fun. It was around 4 pm and we waited for 10 minutes to get a seat right in the middle of it all. Our waitress was very nice, happy and energetic. DD6 ordered a turkey wrap (she LOVES wraps) and DD4 ordered the chicken strips. The kids meals were quite large, but they both were hungry and ate most of them- and they got dessert, so they knew they had to eat enough or NO DESSERT~ DH ordered a ribeye and I had the New York Strip steak and I am telling you that Planet Hollywood does it right with steaks! They were perfect! YUMMMM, now I'm getting hungry. We ordered a mixture of desserts so we could try them all. My two fav.s were strawberry cheesecake (it was creamy and good) and the ghiradelli double chocolate brownie with ice cream, fudge sauce and some whip cream. It was good!
After dinner, we went to Goofy's candy shop and then over to Disney Quest. We got back to our room around 9:00 and went right to bed. We had an early morning scheduled.

We got up quite early and even though we felt a little crummy we all went on the special sunrise safari. I now want to do this EVERY TIME we go to Disney World! It was so much fun! We took off and had a special tour of the kilamanjaro safaris. The driver actually stopped when we saw animals, he'd talk about them, we even got to explore a little more of the area and the animals were out and about. We saw more animals than any other time on the safari and it was amazing! We actually saw the lions roaming around, other animals got very close to us and we saw EVERYTHING!!!! We had breakfast right after at Tusker house and it was yummy!!! my daughters both went crazy for the cinnamon rolls and everything was great! We spent that day at animal Kingdom and were back to the hotel by 5. We had a wonderful day!
