Hi! We got home at 1am this morning from an amazing 5 days at our happy place.
There were loads of highs and a couple of grumbles- the only lows weren't DLP related.

Highs

Our 2 year old was at the perfect age and loved everything! He ran at every character he saw and enjoyed every ride, we went on POTC at least 12 times! He even loved phantom manor!

Sequoia Lodge Golden forest- the separate breakfast room and lounge was amazing, the character breakfasts were brilliant, you can't put a price on the kids faces when Mickey pops his heard round the corner!
We didn't make the most of the free drinks in the lounge- we only visited once bit it was lovely and would be a fab place for a rest.

BBWWS
This was our first visit and all 10 of us loved every minute! The food wasn't amazing but we all left full.

Billy Bobs buffet
Again a first for us and all of us found something we liked. My nephew who normally eats like a sparrow was like an animal! He ate more than he has done all year!

Random character meets
We seemed to trip over characters every day! The queues are a god send- no more scrums!

Cast members
Every cast member we came across was fab, we had some lovely interactions with them.

Grumbles

The range of Christmas decorations was in my opinion poor, the other 2 times I've been I could have spent hundreds on them but I struggled to choose myself one this time.

The room with a view!
We obviously paid quite a bit for a special golden forest room, as it was a special occasion I emailed the hotel, I didn't ask for anything extra just if it would be possible to have a nice view.
I'm pretty sure they couldn't have given us a worse view if they'd tried! We were overlooking the service entrance and where they keep all the bins. I know they can't honour all requests but I would have been disappointed with it if I hadn't emailed. A revving bin lorry at 3am isn't very appealing!

I can't think of any more disney related niggles.

Lows

The car tyre went while we were there and it cost us €120 for a replacement!

All of us at some point on the trip was ill!

The weather was disappointing- after the glorious weather the week before it was quite chilly and rained 2 of the days

Coming home was the biggest low! We had a fabulous time and enjoyed every minute- I don't think I'll do a TR, I'll try and add some pics later.

Great trip by the sounds of things :thumbsup2 I like the sound of the Golden Forest rooms. The no scrums for character meets is long overdue, hope they continue in the busier periods too.

Hope to see some of your pics soon :goodvibes

Glad to hear gf was good, we're off there soon!! What time did you go for breakfast? Are characters there if you eat before emh?
Shame about the view though. Loving the fact your 2 year old was happy, our 2 year old doesn't have a clue yet!! But I however am bursting with anticipation!!

It was a great trip! The queued meets made it possible for our little boy to meet characters, I would never go near a scrum with him!

I think I'll do a photo TR, just uploading to photobucket! :)

I would recommend GF to everyone, it's so calm and peaceful! We didn't eat at the same time any day- it varied from 7:50 ish to 9am. The characters are there all breakfast from what I can gather, there are 2 different ones and they switch every 30 mins. It's just like cafe Mickey, they visit every single table.
I hope your LO enjoys it half as much as ours did! :) x

Thank you, any other tips for 2 year olds? We obviously have pushchair ready and I'm hoping to do dreams one night!

Welcome back - shame about your room :( I know someone always has to get the short straw but you would hope it would have been better seeing as it was a GF room.

Glad you had a great trip and the GF experience does sound wonderful as do the proper queues! :goodvibes

We did dreams 4 out of 5 nights with our 2yr old.

Welcome home, sounds like a brilliant time.
